The Warriors are like a better version of the Bobcats. You know how Charlotte — in between making a legitimate run at Greg Oden/Kevin Durant — has managed to consistently knock off some of the better teams in the League? Golden State is doing the same thing, having beat the Mavs a couple weeks ago and last night blowing past Phoenix in Oaktown. Jason Richardson went for 36 points on eight treys, Stephen Jackson scored 29, and Baron Davis put up 21-8-12, as GS was 20-piecing the Suns well into the second half … The Warriors picked at one of Phoenix’s glaring weaknesses: Steve Nash’s D. Time and again, whoever Nash was sticking — be it Boom Dizzle or Monta Ellis — was going right to the rack and either blowing past the MVP or overpowering him, getting a bucket or dishing to someone left open … Nash also got crowned when Andris Biedrins was left unguarded up top, drove and dunked over a challenging Amare. Nash was in the lane and didn’t jump, but didn’t try to take a charge either. He just kinda stood there and let Biedrins dunk on his head … We like the Warriors’ “The City” yellow throwbacks, but one of the Dime crew pointed out that “Baron looks like he’s 60 years old and weighs 300 pounds in that uni.” … The game featured two of the guys who made our Top 10 list of “Who’s Got the Best Handle?” that we posted yesterday: Nash and Baron. One of them got the No. 1 spot … Rocking Starbury kicks for the first time, Ben Wallace pulled down 19 boards against the Pistons last night and hit a ridiculous runner off the top of the backboard. Rarely do we say a drive to the rack looked “clunky,” but that was the only way to describe how Big Ben made his move before throwing up a shot 50 feet in the air that almost hit the shot clock and went in … The game was tied with two seconds left when Kirk Hinrich drew a foul on a three, then made two of the three FTs. Tayshaun Prince (26 pts) had a shot to tie at the end, but short-armed it with Luol Deng glued to him … Who would have guessed the most entertaining four-game series of this season might be Blazers/Grizzlies? Earlier this year they went to double-OT in a game where Zach Randolph dropped 42 on Pau Gasol. Later they played a game that went down to an Ime Udoka missed free throw with under a second left. And last night, Memphis won another close game despite taking 43 and 17 from Z-Bo. It was also the first time the Grizzlies have won back-to-back games all season, and the second time rookie Tarence Kinsey (20 pts) led the squad in scoring … Jamaal Magloire did his Dee Brown dunk again. Is there a worse signature dunk in the game right now? … In college ball, West Virginia beat Clemson in the NIT final. Frank Young went for 24 points on six treys and copped tourney MVP. So the question is, does he now follow in the footsteps of Renaldo Balkman and get viciously booed and picked apart on-air as a first-round pick in the ‘07 Draft? … We’re out like the MVP’s D.

lol what are the chances of that. everyone jumps on the nash wagon about how hes the best pg ever even though hes never even made the finals with dirk as a mav or with amare and marion (ignoring isiah thomas and others) and how hes the best ball handler (ignoring Jkidd and guys like that) but everyones quiet when teams other pgs constantly put 40 points on him. Gilbert, baron, terry, all toast him cuz he cant play d. EVEN mike bibby put 36 on him. where were all the “omg hes the best” comments then. You shouldnt win mvp if you can’t play on both ends. Cancels out him and dirk, give that mess to Josh howard.

Do you guys remember when you said this?
“Chauncey Billups is set to strike it rich. The Pistons, desperate for a good point guard, have settled on the next best thing in Billups and are about to commit to a ridiculous six-year, $35 million contract.”
Now that is considered cheap….don’t you hate when people bring up old stuff!!
