Reebok ERS 2000 (Jack of Spades)Last summer, when we ranked the Top 25 sneaker boutiques in the country, Boston’s Bodega came in No. 3 despite being a relative rookie in the game. One year later, Christian and I were back at Bodega — a sneaker store hidden within a nondescript-looking corner store — for Reebok’s release of the Ventilator, the first sneaker in the Reebok Royal Flush Collection. Dunk champs Gerald Green and Dee Brown were on-hand for the poker tournament/launch party, signing autographs and checking out the Bodega inventory, and Walter McCarty even popped in for a sec and played a couple of hands.
The Royal Flush Collection is poker-inspired; you might remember G-Money wearing a the “King of Spades” pair while ripping the ‘07 dunk contest. Starting with the Ventilator (10 of Spades), Reebok is releasing a new shoe every few weeks throughout the summer: the ERS 2000 (Jack of Spades), the NPC UK Pump (Queen of Spades), the Pump Omni Lite (King of Spades), the Court Victory Pump (Ace of Spades) and the Insta Pump Fury (Joker), which is actually free if you cop all five Spades kicks.
