I put up a post on Monday morning about the impending KG-to-Boston trade, blogging about what the deal would mean for Kevin, the Celtics and the NBA. Being a Sixers fan, I also made no bones about how frustrated and jealous I am that our arch rivals were about to land a player like KG - a feeling that was only made worse yesterday afternoon watching the Celtics’ press conference officially introducing him and Ray Allen.
I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time with KG working on various projects for Dime and there really isn’t a comparable athlete/interview experience (something I made sure to point out in my cover story on Kevin for Dime #30). We’re putting up this video clip from his cover shoot for that issue to give you a little taste. There’s really no way to truly convey KG’s intensity in person. The video doesn’t really do it justice but Celtics fans, you get the idea.

You have captured KG! I live in mpls and have enjoyed every minute of a true superstar. What he lacks in talent he makes up with heart. Any team is lucky to have him. I will never cross the Target Center’s door until Kevin McHale is gone. I will be watching KG and my new team on NBA pass. He will win a ring.

boston will easily win 2 out of the next 4 championships. that is 3 true franchise players/A+ all-nba superstars that are real team players without ego……. that is amazing. that team is gonna be special with them 3 for the next 4 or 5 years! kg? ray allen? paul pierce? WOW!
