Oh No G.O.
So how bad is this Greg Oden injury? The Blazers still aren’t saying much, and probably won’t until after G.O.’s exploratory surgery tomorrow. But we’ve got our sources. One who’s close to the team didn’t come right out and say it, but the implication was the Oden’s right knee might be in real bad shape. The words “Even if he doesn’t play this season” were mentioned … We’ve done a good job of trying to ignore this whole Isiah Thomas sexual harassment lawsuit soap opera, but we couldn’t resist some of the testimony that’s been coming out. Our favorite line was one that Isiah allegedly barked at the plaintiff when she tried to get him or his players to take part in a marketing campaign: According to court testimony, Isiah said, “B****, I’m here to win basketball games!” … Yesterday was a huge day in hip-hop, as 50 Cent and Kanye West released their long-awaited albums, Curtis and Graduation. Our new intern Dewane, who definitely knows his music, breaks down 50 and Kanye’s latest work … We read where the Suns and Jazz had reportedly talked about a Shawn Marion for AK-47 trade a while back. With the way the Suns have been operating lately, that doesn’t make any sense for them business-wise. AK-47 is getting paid a ton of money, just like Marion, and his deal runs longer. Basketball-wise, it just seems like a trade to make just to make a deal. Each guy’s unique talents is part of what makes his team good, and if they were to switch, we’d bet both Phoenix and Utah would be worse off for it … Page Six gave its account of Britney Spears‘ VMAs disaster: “On Saturday, the day before the VMAs, Spears was scheduled to arrive at rehearsal at around 1 p.m. Our spy said, ‘She didn’t even get to Las Vegas until 4:30 p.m. It was ridiculous … The production people at MTV were freaking out … Nobody can tell Britney what to do anymore. No one can control her. She is a mess. She went to her hotel room and ordered a bunch of food and some frozen margaritas. She came down, like, an hour later with a frozen margarita in her hand.’ When Spears performed on Sunday, she stumbled a couple times and couldn’t remember the words she was lip-syncing. She covered her mouth at one point but by the end of the song had simply given up any pretense of singing. ‘The dance number was spectacular — without her,’ said our spy at rehearsal. ‘When the stand-in was rehearsing with the dancers, in the hours they were all waiting for her, it was amazing. Then Britney showed up and refused to do anything. The dancers were supposed to lift and twirl her in the air a few times, and that just wasn’t going to happen. The more complicated dance moves had to be erased because she couldn’t do them.’ Meanwhile, Spears was agitated because she didn’t like the outfit MTV had selected for her. ‘MTV wanted her to wear a corset outfit. It would have looked great and covered a lot of things up, but she hated it and didn’t think it was sexy enough.’ Instead, Spears changed into a spangly bra-and-underwear outfit she’d brought with her that emphasized her weight gain over the last year. MTV execs weren’t the only ones worried about Spears’ impending debacle. Another spy said, ‘The dancers were texting pals, asking them to pray for them. They were worried.’ After Spears performed at the VMAs, she allegedly broke down in tears but then partied until 3 a.m.” … Alright, we still blame MTV for even putting Brit on. Why bother when there’s a ton of other somewhat-stable acts who would have been better and less of a headache? And how about Britney traveling with that outfit in her bag? … Have you seen this yet? Crazy. And yeah, we want one … We ended up watching some ECW wrestling on Sci-Fi last night. What caught our attention was one wrestler named Matt Striker who’s gimmick is that he used to be a teacher at Cardozo H.S. in Queens. His entrance music included a school bell ringing and everything. (We thought those kinda characters went out in the ’80s?) As you might remember, we have Cardozo hoop coach Ron Naclerio and some of his players in Dime #31 (the LeBron cover) earlier this year for our “The Game” training section. The guy Striker on ECW was teamed up with the artists formerly known to us as Viscera, who now goes by “Big Daddy V” and has two (or is it four?) of the most disgusting moobs you’ll ever see … And by the time the show ran something about Vince McMahon having a long-lost illegitimate son who’s a midget/fake Leprechaun, we were done … We’re out like pointless trades …

Gotta feel for Oden. Had a bad summer league performance and couldn’t finish because of surgery. Now, he will have surgery on his knee. Whenever you have to have exploratory surgery on your knee, the prognosis usually isn’t good. Good luck to him. Hopefully, his b-ball career isn’t in jeopardy.
The Suns’ owner is an idiot. I don’t like to use that word, but he is numb in the head. Why did he become an owner of a pro team when you know you’ll have to spend a little to win? The Suns would be worst off than Jazz if that trade is made. Marion is underrated and it’s ridiculous. Can you imagine Marion, Boozer, Williams, Brewer, and Okur as your starting five? That would be sick. You know Marion will bring it every night. The Suns would be worse. Kirilenko can’t shoot to save his life and there is any hint of uncertainty in his mind, his game goes downhill.
Britney needs help, SOME REAL HELP. That child might commit suicide before it’s all said and done. I’m not trying to be negative, but right now, she has all of the ingredients for something like to happen. Where is her family?!
That ECW show was hilarious. Big V is a REALLY BIG guy. It’s sick. McMahon illegitimate son’s name is Hornswoggle, LMAO. The sh*t is stupid but funny. You can’t help but to laugh. Oh yeah, Hornswoggle is actually the Cruiserweight Champion. Go figure!

Sun’s management has always been excellent (to my memory). Ignoring the constant hear-say the Phoenix team has had a steady flow of excellent talent/role players practically begging to play for their team. This doesn’t happen unless the organisation is doing mostly the right things.

HO-hum… is it me or was it that I was the only one who saw G.O. draft was a bust…
Trading away Randolph for this guy…
Portland should have learned from the past good decissions…
The dream over Injury prone Sam Bowie… Bowie was supposed to be better since he had the skills, athleticism and an outside shot…
Howard over Okafor… Okafor was a couple of years ahead of Dwight interms of development… proven, stats was better… But injuries are hell…

Hum, I look foward to see GO play in the league, too bad for him and Portland. About trade Marion for Kirilenko, the Jazz are the sure winners here, I wish my Miami Heat could pull something out , maybe Antoine for Marion, ok, I know, just dreaming … not even the Knicks would do something like this ,,,

You hate to jump on the bandwagon but there are some major concerns cropping up with Oden. Getting schooled in summer league by D-league players was certainly an eye opener although those who watched him play have to admit his game is all about god-given size and athleticism…basketball smarts and skills were provided by mike conley.
Injury concerns could push this situation to “serious problem” territory. You hate to speculate but big guys like Webber, McDyess and even Stoudemire were not the same after the knee issues….
I can’t imagine the big wigs in portland are sleeping well these days….especially after KD’s showing in the Team USA camp.

not good news for oden…exploratory surgery does not usually equal good and for a guy who is 18….to have a this type of procedure with not a lot of mileage is not a good thing..we wish him well. as for the jazz and suns swap..why dont the suns do me and us laker fans a favor and ship the matrix to hollywood!!!
as for britney..she is a train-wreck and in michael jackson territory now. she is not even an entertainer..she is ratings to see the wreck she is and has no one to blame but herself. do i feel bad for her..well sort of til it was reported she partied all saturday night and was late to rehearsal..this is her comeback?? you usually get one shot at redemption and she failed miserable.she made her own bed….and it is her fault for not being in shape when she knew she would be up on stage..is mtv to blame …sure but it is her job to be a professional and she wasn’t nuff said!

AI is a great player…but definitely not the best in the world…Kobe is much better than Iverson. Maybe Kobe isn’t unanimously the best in the world, but he is at least top 2. Who’s better?
