Dwyane Wade - Should you keep him? Will he be ready for the season? How much time could he miss? These are the questions I’m getting daily regarding D-Wade. All legit questions. Best guess: Wade misses all of the preseason and a few weeks of the regular season. At that point he’ll probably be eased back into the mix, but nobody is more productive per minute played than Wade, so the “ease back in” aspect is sort of irrelevant. Would I keep Wade? In anything over a 1-player keeper league the answer is 100 percent yes.
Peja Stojakovic - Peja says he’s ready to go and if his back is 100 percent (or close to it), the three point category stud is a major fantasy player. Peja is one of the players to really study in the preseason. Very high risk and very high reward.
Amare Stoudemire - Same questions as above. NFL players have their knee scoped one week and play two weeks later. That being said, Amare doesn’t exactly have normal knees to begin with and although this is the “other” knee, I’d count on Amare missing some time beyond the preseason. We’d still keep him and would not hesitate to draft him early.
Brendan Haywood - Etan Thomas is reportedly suffering from a heart condition that could force him to call it a career. If Thomas is going to be out for a significant amount of time, then Haywood’s stock definitely rises … just not as much as someone else in your league thinks. Even without Thomas, Haywood is going to be inconsistent and will be at best a tier 2 second center. There are much worse options out there though, and if you’re a rotisserie player, a high field goal percentage and some nice block and board numbers will look good at the end of the year.

Yo Fantasy Doc,
Have you had a chance to check out the NBA Stock Exchange game at nba.com? I’ve played in both rotisserie and head-to-head leagues in the past, and the stock exchange idea seems cool ’cause two teams can own the same player, and you can buy/sell players throughout the season without having to broker trades between owners.
Has anyone played this game or similar games? I’m curious to hear some feedback.

I know it a little bit and I’m familiar with similar games (tradesports.com anyone?). It’s definitely a cool concept, I’m just a little bit of a fantasy traditionalist.

Ok so someone clarify something for me. Amare had double knee surgery right a year or so ago? So was that on the same knee? And the one he had this week on the other, so he had 2 on 1 before and 1 on the other this week? I just need a clarification. Thank you Thank you.
