The Wolves and Heat trade has major fantasy implications. Here are the players that are most affected:
Ricky Davis - I’m not sure how good a fantasy move this is for Ricky. Yes, he should start with the Heat, but he also won’t get the shots up that he’s used to jacking. I definitely see his scoring numbers dropping after Wade returns. I think he slips a round or two in most drafts.
Theo Ratliff - That’s right, Theo Ratliff. Yes, Jefferson will move over to play center at times, but Theo is healthy, going to start, going to block shots, and definitely worthy of a draft pick.
Corey Brewer - Let the youth movement begin in Minnesota. Brewer is going to get the crack at the majority of minutes at the two-guard spot. He should have up and down nights, but is definitely worthy of a later-round pick. I’d say somewhere around the 9th round you should start considering him.
Mark Blount - Blount goes from a draft pick you should acquire in the late rounds to a waiver pickup you should think about once Shaq gets hurt. In deep leagues, Shaq owners may want to own Blount just in case.
Dorell Wright - Not good news for Dorell owners. Ricky should take the brunt of his minutes. The Heat thought enough of him to not include him in this deal, but in terms of fantasy value, we’re not sure Dorell’s is going to be what we had hoped.
Wayne Simien - The Heat were reluctant to move him, and he was the prospect the Wolves will be quoted saying they wanted (as well as the first rounder). Simien was a health nightmare last season, but will get a shot to prove he has value with the Wolves. Keep an eye on him.
‘Toine - I can’t image he ends up playing for the Wolves, though if he did, we could see a crazy Antoine flashback. Keep an eye on him, but don’t draft him. Wouldn’t be shocked to see a buyout and then straight back to the Heat.

Theo says:
You really think I should go pick up Theo? Our draft is done and he went undrafted but my centers suck.

Strait to the heat? If he was bought out he would be on the Celtics in .01 seconds…

Fantasy Doctor says:
I do think that Theo is a good pick up (until he gets hurt). He is going to block shots and has looked strong in the preseason. It’s not going to last but it is a short term solution.
And Joseph, I think the C’s days with Toine are over.

What do you think of foye or mccants?

Fantasy Doctor says:
Foye should definitely be owned. Ideally he starts at the 1, though the wolves seem to want to give that gig to telfair. Foye should put up some nice stats. Mccants is going to get minutes and can definitely score. I probably would look at Mccants as a top guy to watch out for on the waiver wire.
All the t-wolves fantasy guys are going to be inconsistent (other than big Al).

I don’t think Antoine is heading anywhere.
C’s don’t need him
Riley seemed sick of him and,
I agree that he would be an odd piece on the young Wolves
I think he takes his buyout and thinks about getting in shape for a late season injury signing.
PG battle in Minnesota this year should be intense. Foye has earned a chance but Telfair needs redemption. Also, Delonte is probably keen to show that he deserves some minutes.

Captain America says:
Hold on now. McHale said there is more in the works. He wouldn’t be surprised if there is a “deal within this deal”. The wolves are looking for flexibility, with Foye swinging between PG and SG.

Basically Big Al will be a fantasy MONSTER BEAST, even moreso than he would have been before the trade…
