The Cavs locked up one of their two AWOL guys today by signing Sasha Pavlovic to a three-year deal.
Terms of the deal haven’t been released, but it will be a little while before he can actually get himself in the mix. At the moment, Pavlovic is still in Serbia, so there’s pretty much no way he’ll be in the lineup for the Cavs’ opener tomorrow night against Dallas.
Sasha 100 percent helped LeBron in the playoffs, but he’s definitely not the answer for the Cavs. They need to make real moves to put talent around James. This move, at best, will only serve to plug some holes.

Lets face it the Cavs are screwed. Many teams in the east improved or got healthy(Boston,Miami,Orlando,) Plus Chicago, Detroit, New Jersey and Wash will be lurking as always. Bron Bron will be lucky to make the playoffs this year if they dont make a trade.

I don’t know about not making the playoffs, I dont think Lebron would let that happen, but as far as advancing, they need some help on the double.

Andy Buckets says:
Yo…Sasha might have his minutes cut anyway. The Cavs signed Syracuse’s Demetris Nichols who already is probably the best three point shooter on the team.
He might wind up starting by mid season.

nic might start and pav isn’t really that big of a difference. last year with the cavs was a fluke cuz they pretty much had the yellow brick road route of the playoffs last year…

Yea, I sort of remember seeing a lot of posts like this last season, and I definitely remember posts like this at the outset of the playoffs in April. Cavs aren’t for real, LeBron has no help, he can’t do it all by himself, Cavs have no shot at winning the East. Keep the posts coming, Dime, and we’ll talk again next June.

Why does no one mention Toronto when they talk about the East. Won the Atlantic and were a top 4 seed. They were missing one of their main contributors in the playoffs. Garbo is healthy and they just got deeper at the wings (Kapono and Delfino).

The rest of the team still garbage but Bron is still great. We all know teams will be planning more for Bron this year in light of his playoff exploits last year. The rest of the team better get it together quick!

Why is it that NBA GMs get off so lightly when they screw up. Mitch Kupchak shouldn’t have a job (trading Caron Butler for Kwame Brown was one of the worst trades of the past 10 years). Houston’s backcourt is a mess - why they signed Francis is a mystery to me. Is Carrol Dawson still running the show down there? Danny Ferry is doing the same thing to LeBron that Kevin McHale did to Garnett and Billy King did to AI. When is Danny gonna get Cleveland a PG????? Until they get someone decent to play the 1, which EVERYONE knows is the Cavs’ achilles heel, that team is going nowhere.

Cavs are worthless. LBJames is the ish, and the rest of them are bench bums. Who cares if they signed Sasha?..He’s no difference maker. This team over achieved last year.
They should still make the playoffs; I mean, c’mon, how hard is it to be (at least) the 8th best team in the East? But there won’t be any advancing.

LeBron gets “Help”…LMAO
They should have saved their money picked Nicholas or Luke Jackson (I think he is a better shooter and just as good an athlete as Sasha, with better IQ) and Webber and hold on to Dewayne Jones.
Just me…But I guess Sasha isn’t the problem. I was under the impression they are were just waiting to sign AV first so they knew what they was working with to sign Sasha, but not that he is signed maybe the Cavs have decided to move forward and not wasted their franchise time on AV and his ridiculous demands. Dalembert got $10mil and people still bash him and I think he is twice the player AV is…which of course still means he is only have the player that deserves $10mil…
