Hero Worship
No one has been talking about the Houston Rockets at all this preseason, which is funny because if they’re healthy, you have to consider them contenders solely because of the T-Mac / Yao Ming dynamic. Obviously, the problem is that the two of them are almost never healthy at the same time.
T-Mac looked good when we caught up with him this summer and says he’s ready to go. Here, Tracy talks about his mindset entering the preseason, the tone he wants to set in camp and his responsibilities as the alpha dog in the Houston locker room. You gotta love his first line …
McGrady has also come a long way since he was the kid just trying to get buckets. Here’s Tracy on how the game is bigger than just one man…

I am riding with Tracy and the Rockets all the way regardless. Time and chance happen to us all. I really hope Tracy’s time in the playoffs will come because he has had some chances. I would love for him to get a ring of course. He seems like a real stand up guy. Ashame about the injuries, even still, he balls!
Make some real noise this year Rockets!

good job, dime.
next do an article on how ‘for years now, magic johnson has been HIV+’, no one seems to have noticed that either.

@Amar:
Spot on. I read everything posted on the Dime Blog. The inattention to the Rockets here is pretty embarrassing.
Now, I can understand the whole we-love-the-NY-area teams vibe going on. And with all the changes to the Celtics, it’s exciting to keep everyone posted on what’s going on there.
But the amount of useless text written about grossly mismanaged bottom feeders like NY and Philly is shameful, especially when an actual contender like the Rockets gets only a passing mention once or twice a week. And it’s not like the Rockets haven’t had an off-season full of changes which ranks up there with Boston’s… new coach, new supporting cast, the return of Francis, etc.
Otherwise, Dime is the best daily blog of them all. But this whole chumps-of-the-East focus is a constant drag.
