More With KG
Kevin Garnett’s competitive nature is the stuff of legend – it’s something that’s brought up in almost every single KG story ever written. It’s definitely not an act. I’ve seen the competitive nature first-hand multiple times, from when he put his own sister “in the chamber” on the Target Center’s court after our photo shoot for his Dime cover story last season to this past summer in LA on the adidas “Brotherhood” commercial set when he was beasting high school kids in a pickup game.
When I interviewed him out in LA though, I was surprised when Kevin admitted to me that he goes at his friends differently than he does strangers and that, for a long time, he wasn’t cool at all with Tim Duncan …

I agree with Gee…I enjoy listening to KG cause the things he says during interviews don’t seem rehearsed like a lot of other profession athletes. What he’s saying here is genuine..I appreciate that a lot.

Captain America says:
Why is it that Tim Duncan owns KG, and is a good guy like KG? Why is it that Tim can compete against KG while KG has a harder time at it?
Two things. KG and Chauncey have been very good friends and played together as T’wolves. KG has never forgotten the loss of Malik Sealy. Malik’s banner hangs at Target Center.
Has “Malik Sealy RIP” (teammate and friend who died in car accident) tattooed on his right fore-arm.

When has tim duncan EVER owned KG? lol The spurs may have owned the timberwolves but Duncan never owned KG. For somoene to be owned, they would have to be shut down, their stats would have to take a serious drop etc.. and if memory serves when has TD ever seriously locked up KG? Hell Amare averaged almost 40 on duncan in the playoffs before he hurt his knee two years ago, does that mean Amare owns Duncan? Just like the comics, captain america’s comments here should be killed cuz their all pointless shots at KG that don’t back anything up. Any personal would have a hard time goin full force into something against a friend. If you were playin streetball, a elbow or a hard foul can happen, but you feel alot worse if it happens to someone ur probably gonna be chillen with later. Same in the league. TD owning KG lol craziness

Do you guys even think before ur quick to write ur comments? TD has never OWNED KG! Ever. You can’t talk about someone punking someone on skills when their styles are completely different. And yes Duncan has a better win % than KG but its not all duncan. Learn some facts.
1) like i said before, when has ducan ever just locked up or shut down KG? let alone on multiple occasions?
2) KG is athletic and stays around the high post. TD is a face up on the block kinda guy who isn’t really athletic and relys more on bank shots etc..Completely different skills.
3) TD has a much better supporting cast than KG ever had. At EVERY position. if you looks at just stats alone, Kg actually has better stats.
KG: 22.4 ppg,12.8 rbg,4.1 assists,1.2 steals,1.7 blks
TD: 20 ppg, 10.6 rbg, 3.4 assists, 0.8 steals, 2.4 blks
So you can’t make it like duncan wins every game by himself and then compare him to garnett. If you put KG on the spurs in place of duncan, based on stats the team is just as good if not better. Duncan has more rings because his supporting cast is better but their both elite so stop comparing them.

Captain America says:
Please, I’ve watch KG since he came into the league. In head-to-head match ups, TD has owned KG. It’s no wonder he and TD didn’t speak much until recently. Hell, even Joel Przybilla at times got the best of KG through intimidation. Intensity is a funny thing, if matched by an opponent.
I like KG, but let’s add some reality to the discussion.

May as well bring some stats into the discussion. IMO, neither of these elite players owns the other except on specific plays.

Blocks: 2
TD vs Timberwolves (Average)

LOL if you all are reg. Dimers you all know that Capt. got it personal against K.G. anyway so don’t even go there. Anyone objective knows that they both just two great players plain and simple. This is about K.G.’s video anyway. These videos just make me root for K.G. all the more and I am not even a Boston or Minny fan. He just seems like a cool dude.
