“Six and Six”
This morning’s column from Cavs beat writer Brian Windhorst in the Akron Beacon-Journal makes a good point. He’s really the only writer we’ve read who makes sure to illustrate the fact that Anderson Varejao’s agent Dan Fegan isn’t the only player in this contract drama who should take flak for Anderson not being in Cavs camp. Ultimately, it falls on Varejao:
It’s not just Fegan who thinks a young big man who averages six points and six rebounds is worth eight figures a year; Varejao himself must believe it as well. Even if the Cavs, and most objective observers, simply do not agree.
Ultimately, because Varejao is the boss, that is why he is not in uniform right now.
Yes, Anderson is a mobile 7-footer who has shown some flashes of brilliance, but we’ve pointed out here many times that he also has hands of stone. At one point last season, we were keeping track of how many passes he got from LeBron under the hoop in every game that he couldn’t handle. And if I was Danny Ferry, I’d be throwing “six and “six” around a lot in every conversation.
Also in Windhorst’s column, he puts the Charles Oakley/Cavs rumor to rest and tells us how Donyell Marshall almost never made it back from China.

How long will we have to wait before Lebron does a Kobe?? It should be anyday now. Seriously, Lebron has Big Zlow, Devin “always chuckin’” Brown, Cedric Simmons has shown any promise, Donyell Marshall is a one trick pony, and he has a teammate who’s nickname is “Boobie.” C’Mon now!!! It’s bound to happen.

Sideshow Bob, i mean varejao is the most gargage forward in the L (is Samaki Walker still playing?) i digress. well not really, he stinks. he’ll get paid and have no incentive to get better, which is sad because he can’t get worse than god-awful…

I seriously believe that Lebron will have more class than to pout like Kobe. Kobe’s a whiny prima donna that can act that way because he is the best baller in the world. Players whining for trades is getting old. It’ll start to weigh on the game until fans cannot stand overpaid under-professional athletes. Honestly, I lost a lot of respect for Vince Carter when he did it, allowing his game to fall off in Toronto.
Besides, Bron only signed on for four years before he can walk, so there is no need for him to whine.
