The H.O.F. Watch - Chris Bosh

IMAGE DESCRIPTIONPhoto. Chris Gordaneer

Every day for the next few weeks we’re gonna take one active NBA star with at least arguable Hall of Fame credentials and break down his chances of getting into the Springfield, Mass., hoops mecca. We’re looking at not just past accomplishments, but also how a player’s career realistically projects for the future. For a full explanation of the process, click here. Today’s candidate: Chris Bosh.

CHRIS BOSH (5th year, Raptors)
18.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 blocks per game

Why: Numbers-wise, CB4 is building a Hall of Fame career brick-by-brick. At his current pace he’ll own the Raptors’ record book and will be the franchise’s defining player, much like KG in Minnesota. Assuming Bosh stays in Toronto long-term (he has an extension through 2010-2011, and just seems like the kind of guy who will play for one team his entire career), he will be the unquestioned foundation of a team that — unlike KG in Minnesota — has a talented front office that should keep enough talent around their star to remain competitive. While the Raptors don’t play in a big market and national TV appearances have been few and far between, Bosh was still popular enough to get an All-Star Game starting nod last year. While Garnett’s arrival in Boston (and LeBron) knocks Bosh out of the starting five for the next few years, he should have a reserve spot on the ASG roster on lock. He also seems a good bet for 20-10 numbers for the foreseeable future; he’s a good enough shooter and knocks down his free throws (77 percent) to where he won’t drop off when he gets older and loses some bounce in his step. Plus, Bosh is a signature member of what may end up being called the best NBA Draft class ever with LeBron, Carmelo and D-Wade. He’s very young and it’s very early, but all the elements are there for Bosh to be a great one.

Why not: Again, Toronto as a market won’t ever be New York, L.A., Boston or Miami. Playing in a small market while not being a flashy guy isn’t a kiss of death, but Bosh’s low profile might not resonate with H.O.F. voters if he doesn’t win big (like Reggie Miller) or put up amazing numbers (like Karl Malone and John Stockton). Injuries are also always going to be a factor. Carrying a franchise on your back is tough on the body, and not everyone is lucky enough to stay healthy over a long period of time. Bosh is solid at 6-10, 230, and has bulked up from the relatively skinny freshman he was at Georgia Tech, but he hasn’t exactly been an iron man so far in the pros; he played in 69 games last year, 70 the year before that, and already this season he’s reportedly dealing with plantar fasciitis that could slow him down. Bosh will always be very good, but does he have it in him to be truly great? He’s been through playoff disappointment once. He’ll have to use that to push him to bump his game to that next level. The best comparison to how Bosh’s career projects is Garnett, and KG’s Hall of Fame resume is bolstered by an MVP, two handfuls of All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive Team selections, historic numbers, and a magnetic personality that has made him a fan favorite. Will CB4 ever reach those accomplishments? And no doubt the Raptors fans love their guy, but do you ever really hear young ballplayers saying they want to play like Chris Bosh?

Our call: OUT

  1. Jas says:

His current numbers certainly don’t merit hall of fame consideration, but it’s way too early to pass judgement on Chris.

  2. fiyaman says:

Yeah I think its way too early to even consider him HOF… He hasn’t really done nothing yet except put up gd #s on bad team. Should Abdul Rahim be in (stats are about the same). Bosh has yet to impress me.

  3. ben says:

I agree it’s far too early to make a call on Bosh, but i like his chances. I see him continually putting up 20/10 or better for playoff caliber teams. I completely disagree that he will have to “carry” his franchise. The Raptors have a very deep team, and as long Colangelo and Bosh are in the same place I don’t see that changing.

  4. fiyaman says:

we’ll see how he does this yr against KG and Randolph

  5. fiyaman says:

we’ll see how he does this yr against KG and Zach

    Go Knicks

  6. Celts Fan says:

I agree Ben. First of all, I’d project yes. Secondly the Raps look like they’ll be a playoff fixture for years w/ the nucleus they have (I love Bargnani. seems like a center version of Dirk w/ more of an inside game/mean streak)
and to that clown that tried comparing him to Shareef, it’s obvious you’re just looking at #s and not watching them play or you would have never said that. Bosh impacts the game. period. he’s still a LONG way off from this discussion being over, but I’d say he’s on pace to get there (and keep in mind, he’s still really young since he left GT after his freshman year)

  7. joe says:

    simply put..too early to know!

  8. Tom Toronto says:

Ohhhh you guys had to go there, bringing up Bosh, no way I can sit this one out.

First off, Toronto is not a small market. It may not get as much American media attention as other teams on the East Coast, but that’s mainly because we’re in a different COUNTRY. The Raps have lots of National TV, it just happens to be Canadian National TV. In fact this year, on the heels of last year’s successes, our Government run CBC is even showing Raps games. Ball will likely always take second place to hockey up here (ridiculous - I know) but it’s starting to really gain momentum now that the Raps aren’t dead last. How do you think Bosh got voted in to the All Star last year? It’s online voting, and Canada gets a say too.

On to Bosh. Realisticallly considering his future stats, and let’s remember he’s currently 23 years old, he should be a lock for statistical HOF if his career continues to progress. That’s a big IF, thanks to knee injuries and plantar fascitis. Last two seasons Bosh has averaged 22 points, 9 to 10 boards, two and a half dimes and a block per night, while shooting right around .500. That’s a couple of rebounds and assists shy of Garnett numbers. If Bosh continues to improve, he’ll be right up there with the big ticket. Again, that’s a big IF.

In conclusion, I’m going to say IN*. In with an asterisk. At his current level, he’s a stats beast and an All Star lock, and also a great ambassador for the sport which counts in HOF voting (sorry Ron Artest.) At 23, Bosh could realistically play for another 10 years. He’s EIGHT years younger than KG. The asterisk is because it’s just too early to tell. Plantar fascitis is a bitch. A recurring bitch, which is the worst kind. So, IN if he continues along his current course, OUT if he can’t achieve higher than where he’s at now.

  9. Drew Ebanks says:

    Just a comment…
Toronto is NOT a small market if you put things in context DIME. Toronto is the 4th or 5th largest market in North America…one of the largest metro areas in North America…we have umpteen television stations radio stations and newspapers…plus 3 sports networks are based out of Toronto. We are smaller than New York, LA and maybe Boston…but there are not really any other markets in North America that are bigger. In terms of media size in America we would be considered top 5. As for Bosh…maybe the Raptors haven’t been on TNT and ESPN alot…but trust me…things will change very soon…The team is built for success…probably the deepest team in the NBA as well as having arguably the best 1-2 punch at PG in the L! TJ Ford and Calderon compliment each other perfectly and both are fine with their roles.
It’s wayyyyy too early to consider Bosh’s HOF credentials…but check his improvement year to year…Also you may not know that he HAS to be double teamed on the block by all power forward defenders not name KG, Ben Wallace or Tim Duncan…and he sticks the J from 15 feet and out with ease…not to mention he is working on his three game. As he gets stronger he’ll also be an even bigger rebounder…so he may be on his way to the HOF which will be helped by him leading the Raptors to a championship or two. Many Americans don’t get to see the Raps play…I suggest you get an NBA package on the dish and check them out because we are playing a great style of basketball right now…comparable to the Suns and Mavs and Warriors…moving the ball and spreading it out on offence. If the team gets better defensively look out. Toronto had the 3rd best record after January 1st of this year…only behind the Suns and Mavs folks…and trust me…Chris Bosh is a major reason for that. Don’t sleep on CB4…he’s one of the NBA’s best! If he was on an American team the media would be all over him and he’d probably be as well know as Bron Bron and Wade!

    Drew
    T-Dot massive big ups!

  10. Gregg says:

Drew, I believe that CB4 was shut down in the playoffs by the likes of Jason Collins and Mikki Moore. It was sad.

  11. Austin Burton says:

Well put, Tom. But you know Canadian national TV isn’t what we’re talking about when we say “national TV.”

  12. Nick says:

Yeah, he’ll definitely not be noticed in Toronto. Remember how invisible and unappreciated Vince Carter was when he was in Toronto. I didn’t even know he existed until he started playing in New Jersey.

  13. D-NICE says:

CB4 hasn’t even got to show his best and your saying that he’s out. He’s arguably better that Jermaine O’neal and still hasn’t even hit his prime so I wouldn’t be so quick to say he won’t make it in

  14. Drew Ebanks says:

True Greg…he didn’t have a great series…and honestly I think that was more to do with 1) Garbajosa being injured and Raps playing with a “green” Bargnani and also 2) Sam Mitchell being outcoached by Lawrence Frank…say what you want but Frank is a great coach at taking opposing big men out of the game. The Raps didn’t make adjustments in terms of taking Bosh out of the block and setting him up at the top of the key and getting him moving so he couldn’t be doubled. They need to use him more in pick and rolls as well. Not sure if you also noticed the amount of clutching, grabbing and holding that Collins and Moore got away with in the series…watch Bosh closely and see that he was constantly being held and grabbed in the paint with no calls against the “defenders”. Frank is truly a great coach in my opinion because he finds ways to nullify the opposing team’s strengths. If he had a real “superstar” other than Vince…they would have done better in their next series…but of course Wince bailed out on the shot he should have taken as the Nets lost. Same ol’ VC.
Austin…I know what you mean…and I said that in my first post…that as the Raptors continue to win they will be on TNT and ESPN more and more…like when Carter was here…we were always on US “national TV”. AI vs. VC…classic playoff series as well.
It’s kind of sad the bashing that Toronto and Canada keep taking…
check this Raps…are #1 in season ticket renewals in the NBA this season and are around 13000 season tics. Plus our ticket sales are off the charts right now…last year we sold out over 20 games and this year we should approach 30-35 if not more. The fans are great here and have stuck by this team…even after all those lean years. The Maple Leafs suck for the last few and now it’s HOOPS turn to shine.
Keep sleeping on the Raps…As the rapper Common would say “One day it’ll all make sense.”
    Peace.

    Drew

  15. Jah says:

    My Call: “To Be Continued.”

As many of you have already said, it’s way too early to tell. He’s on his…5th or 6th year. How many current, actual Hall Of Fame players were considered “locks” that early in their career — a very small percentage, if any.

Dime Crew — the people are waiting for the following names to appear:

    Vince Carter
    Anyone from the ‘96 Draft
    Jason Kidd
    Dikembe Mutombo
    Ben Wallace
    Robert Horry

  16. Dongson says:

Most of what needs to be said has been said.

It is WAY too early for CB4 to be judged, and RIGHT NOW he isn’t a lock for HOF but he has as much potential as anyone else his age. Toronto on horrible when he arrived, and because of the management’s great moves, CB4 will be in a position to turn it around quite a bit. Repping the East isn’t completely out of the question, though I don’t think they have enough to take it all within the next two-three years.

If Bosh leads Toronto to the 2nd or 3rd round in the play offs consistently, or even a championship. I would say he is IN.

  17. Sunil says:

“Again, Toronto as a market won’t ever be New York, L.A., Boston or Miami. Playing in a small market…”

Sigh… typical clueless Americans. Toronto is one of the LARGEST cities in the NBA behind only New York LA and Chicago. Explain to me how that is “small market”.

  18. Tom Toronto says:

    Austin,

Thanks for the kudos, and I do hear you when you say we’re not getting a lot of national coverage. I think that will change in time, we had attention when Carter was around and we got to the playoffs. Last year was just the wake up call, if we stay competitive the coverage will come. Especially considering our divisional rivals are the big market teams, NY, Boston, etc.

And for Nick, I imagine you didn’t pay much attention to basketball when Carter was in T.O. His dunk contest win was in a Raptors uni, just as an example.

  19. Bongmarley says:

Again I want to reiterate the fact that Toronto is not a small Market Team. Like said above it is the 4 or 5 largest city in North America with a huge amount of coverage. Add to the International flavor of the team and how much interest there is for the team over seas and i would feel good in saying that Toronto is probably a top 3 team in terms of Global World Wide Market. The only place we don’t have big coverage is in the US and that is because the team has stunk for the last 5-6 yrs. With the resugence of the team and Colangelo on board its only bigger and better things for the raps

  20. Ben says:

    Tom,

I believe Nick was being sarcastic…

  21. Bobby says:

Toronto is the fourth largest market in North America. Do your homework.

  22. Tom Toronto says:

Alright, sorry to Nick if he was being sarcastic. It’s hard to get sometimes in text, plus I’m all riled up with the Bosh/Canada debate. Not to mention I’m getting zero work done at the office today!

  23. Alan says:

This thread has certainly got off topic.

Doesn’t anyone else find it sad when “where” a player plays is regarded as important as “how” a player plays? It’s irrelevant to the topic, at least I hope it is.

Chris Bosh is an outstanding talent, and is an extremely hard worker, two of the pre-requisites of the “great” player. Certainly his teams playoff success will influence HOF voting. If he can bring a championship to Toronto, and consistent championship contention, his place in Springfield will be secured, assuming he maintains a 20-10 average for his career.

You guys are right, it’s way to early to tell, the things I’ve talked about here will have to happen for Chris to make it to the HOF. Let’s hope he has a great career.

  24. Struan Smith says:

This is the first year out of his rookie contract, it is IMPOSSIBLE to tell at this point.

  25. Gee says:

Struan I agree but if he keeps going the way he’s going now and either gets traded to a team with good support or if his current team gets some then he will likely make it. At this time thought it is waaaay to early to tell on dude. With no injuries and more help he will get there though. As long as he continues to ball!

  26. Coldchain says:

Bosh is kinda soft. I can see the KG comparison physically, but Bosh doesn’t have that dog in him like KG. And where was he in the playoffs last year?

  27. DOC says:

Bosh needs to step his heart up first, then play like 10 more years. When he plays with HOF players he never shines, All star games and USA. He gotta improve. If he’s so good he should not have lost to a washed up Nets team. His team is way better than Bronnys bums but the HOF in Brons game got the Nets outta here.

  28. D-Lite says:

I’m with Jah, bring on the real contenders. I won’t even discuss someone I wouldn’t recognize on the street. Don’t blame the market, blame the player and his agent. But it’s ok if he does not want the limelight.

  29. Kobeef says:

I am a raps fan but have to admit Bosh looks more like a bench player than starter on Team USA and the All Star Teams. If you can’t be one of the best of your era you don’t deserve hall of fame.

Also, you have to do something in the playoffs - at least regularly make the conference final for a few years to be HOF. Bosh looked pretty soft the last 2 years while the raps got booted out of the first round by “underdogs”.

  30. smity says:

Maybe chris bosh has been thrown out there because he’s young and intriguing to the young and intrigued. (and even though i’m young and intrigued too) I’ve been a tv watching fan of the league since guys like chris bosh (and whatever other young player his age, and technically mine) were. So i agree with what D-lite and Jah are saying. We’re waiting to read what you all have to say about guys that were around before Bosh (in the same vein of those already discussed by you: Webber, J.O., Pierce, etc.). Granted the fact that this is the first really young player you’ve done. We’ll let it slide. But don’t try to give us a “H.O.F. watch” on Brandon Roy or Rod Benson tomorrow. Chicago.(Just thought i’d rep my city.)

  31. Gee says:

Give him time mates, give him time. Without injury he will show up. I think he needs to get out of Toronto though before it ends up like a K.G. and Minnesota thing for him.

  32. mike says:

I live in toronto, and can honestly tell you that from what i’ve read from local writers, people from within the raps organization think that bargnani will end up being better than bosh. with that said, bosh still has hall of fame potential, its way too early to saw in or out, and it is true that he will need sustained playoff success to get in, cus his numbers aren’t going to spike up much from where they are now. bargnani is actually a more natural scorer than bosh, watch them. if bargnani learns to play even average defensively, heeee will be the lock for the HOF, but me being optimistic says they both have excellent chances.

  33. Amar says:

one thing to note is that Bosh is clutch … unlike KG. Bosh takes the big shots / makes the big defensive plays to win games. he’s good from the FT line, the raps will play an exciting brand of ball that is similar to the up and down (but without a mandated three pointer every 7 seconds) phoenix style … after all, look at who the GM is. the internationals help, but who cares that the american media is so self-absorbed. like that’s ever going to change.

last time i checked, bosh is only in the first third of his career right now — so this is too early a discussion.

btw, toronto = small market = dime mag needs to put down the dimebag before writing columns. Toronto is a lot bigger than San Antonio, Detroit, Philly and so forth. It’s a lot more urban and hip than SLC or Sactown — to name a few ‘apparently’ equal markets.

within the next 3-5 seasons I expect more raps games on US tv because the raps are going to be in the playoffs each year for the next few seasons. and they’re going to be better than a lot of crappy american teams.

in the nba winning is the only thing that counts, and is a great equalizer.

  34. 2 Easy says:

Let me just say first Big up Toronto, sorry had to get that in bein a native. That bein said are u guys serious? Bosh? I kno he’s really good but Bosh? This guy hasnt even been in the league over a half-decade. I appreciate the attempt to get him some attention but to consider him before guys like Ray Allen, or Mutumbo or even Dirk. I expect these HOF debates to be about established players not up and comin stars. I cant even think about him and the HOF yet, cause hes not played his best ball. Id rather hear wat people have to say about questionable Vets or established superstars like Kobe or Nash cause I kno some idiots will say Nash shouldnt be in. I hope to see a more interesting case next time.
All that bein said, props to Bosh for bein the firt of that crazy ridiculous draft class to be looked at lol even though Wade has a ring and Bron went to the finals. Melo’s primed for a finals run and Bosh and the Raps are more experienced, I cant wait for the season to start

  35. mike says:

dime is looking at “fringe” guys, i would assume, not guys who you would think are obvious

  36. Andrew says:

Toronto is the 5th largest city in North America after Mexico City, NY, LA and Chicago, hardly small market.

  37. Amar says:

Melo is primed for a finals run? not in the west, he’s not. if by ‘finals run’ you mean 4 losses in the first round again, then you are correct.

  38. sam says:

Bosh will make the HOF as long as he gets that foot problem solved.

  39. Triple Threat says:

CB4, is a HOF type player? Right now no, in the future who knows, at this point as for young PF and Centers. STAT and D-Howard are ahead of Bosh.

  40. Triple Threat says:

Maybe not Amare, his knees are buggin again.

  41. JCrom says:

Does Toronto get (AMERICAN) national tv gmes like that? Or have I just been watchin the wrong channels? The Raptors are big nationally….in Canada. Where it happens to be the only NBA squad in the country. Me personally when I see Bosh on my tv in Maryland as much as I see Kobe and them (not a laker fan just went for a big market) then I’ll consider T-Dot a big market. Feel free to disagree. What I said is opinion not fact

  42. b-rad says:

This hall of fame watch is laughable. Paul Pierce in and Chris Webber out?? Why are you even assessing Chris Bosh when he hasn’t reached his prime yet. What if he wins 3 championships…is he still out?

Come to think of it, what is the point of this entire feature, I’m really disappointed with Dime. It’s making a mockery of the NBA hall of fame. At least focus on players that have proved themselves and are approaching the very end of their career.

  43. Austin Burton says:

“We’re looking at not just past accomplishments, but also how a player’s career realistically projects for the future.”

It is realistic that Pierce will get to the Finals, if not win a championship, before he retires. If that happens I think he’s in, and personally I think it’s going to happen. Not to mention Pierce is still a 20-ppg guy, and given his durability (last season was the exception for him regarding injuries, not the rule) he has at least a few more good seasons left. And I’ll continue to harp on the fact that he will be (at worst) in the Top 5 all-time on the BOSTON CELTICS scoring list. To me, that’s a Hall of Famer.

Chris Webber, meanwhile, could realistically win a ring if he gets back with the Pistons. But even then, he wouldn’t be one of the three best players on his team anymore. It’s also realistic that Webber’s career is over, and if not, his days of putting up 20-10-5 are for damn sure over. Not to mention the amount of games he’s missed with injuries over the years. Like I said before, Webber’s AVERAGES are good. His total numbers fall short because he’s been injured so much. So he’s out.

As far as Bosh (or any younger player covered here), the whole point is to take a chance and project how his career will turn out. Could Bosh win three rings? Yes, and it goes without saying that if Chris Bosh is a star player on three championship teams, he’s in. But what we’re doing is basically taking an educated guess on how great of a player Chris Bosh will be. And for me personally at least, the biggest factor in saying Bosh would be out of the H.O.F. is his (albeit short) history of injuries not boding well for a Garnett-like career.

  44. Coop says:

What on earth is this being discussed for? Okay lets do O.J Mayo next. Jesus. How about we stick to guys who have DONE enough to talk about not guys who MIGHT DO enough.

  45. karan says:

“We’re looking at not just past accomplishments, but also how a player’s career realistically projects for the future.”

first of all, yes, it is WAAAAAAY to early to even talk about this situation for bosh
second of all, if he keeps up these numbers, and wins rings, he’ll be graciously ushered into the HOF.
so dime is saying that, realistically, bosh doesnt have a chance of winning many rings.. or even if not, at least winning a LOT of games?
chris bosh = future tim duncan… he’ll definately be an impact player for years to come..
its too early to say if he’s gonna be HOF, but if i HAD to say it, i’d say definately in.

  46. Mike says:

Americans are so clueless. All you guys need an economics lesson to understand that Toronto, of all places in the world, is not a small market. Most of what should have been argues against the Dime article has been said.

Canadians think before they say something.

    Peace

  47. Brandon says:

I’m hoping to see Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill in this H.O.F. list. Think they’ll make it?
    To me, probably not.

  48. Amanda says:

Bosh is only taking it easy right now becuase it’s the preseason and while it’s good practice in the end the games don’t mean squat. He’s doing the responsibile thing and resting that knee so he can be healthy to lead the Raps this year. Just watch what this kid does in the next few of years… with Colangelo adding more and more valuable players to this team, the support will be there for Bosh to exceed everyone’s expectations.

  49. Chris says:

Everyone claiming that Americans are stupid for saying Toronto is a small market clearly have no idea what they are talking about. True, the majority of Americans know just about nothing when it comes to Canada, but the small market they are referring to is the fact that in Canada, Hockey reigns supreme over all sports. Basketball is popular in Canada, but comparing the number of viewers in Canada to those in American, I bet my left nut there is a good 10 Americans to every 1 Canadian that is an avid Basketball fan.

    Side note, I’m Canadian.

  50. Chris says:

Forgot to write my opinion on this topic…
This is way too early to make a call on. Dime, you should review players, I don’t know..in the last few seasons of their career. Bosh isn’t a quarter of the way their (pending some career ending injury). It is way to early to call this.

Bosh is good, and he’s young. As far as PF goes, he is most definitely in the Top 5 right now (Duncan, KG, then some order of Bosh, Brand and Dirk) and all those other PF are in the latter stages of their careers.

  51. MP says:

Since when is Toronto considered a small market?

  52. David says:

Ummm…guys I think you need to do your homework. While you are correct over Bosh’s health status, you are dead wrong in saying Toronto is a small market. In fact, after NY and L.A, and maybe Chicago, the Raptors have more media following them around and reporting on them than any other team. As well, the Raptors are currently top 5 in the league in season ticket sales. Even when we they were bad, they had more fans in the seats than Boston, who you claim is a bigger market. So please, just because you live in the States, don’t refer to the Raptors as a small market team. Toronto is one of the biggest cities in the world.

  53. H-Towb says:

CB4 is too early to call if he will be HOF. In the near Future yes, I believe he will be there someday. If you ask around the NBA as who’s the top 5 PF in the league today the will say, TD, KG, Dirk & CB4, he was on the MVP list this season. If he keeps improving and doing what he does best he will be great. Chris is always in the Top 5 PF in the league and I believe he will be there.

As for Toronto being a small Market, you people are crazy. Toronto is the NBA’s Largest Cities Market behind LA, NY, CHI. Even for Entertainment and any other events. Why do you people think Tdot is loved by the NBA players or even Celebrities.

  54. Tamilan says:

At the rate Bosh is improving, he would end up being in the HOF. He’s only 23 and already has a similar game to KG’s (except for the playmaking). KG never had talent around him, but he always has another productive player with him (Stephon Marbury, Sam Cassell, Ricky Buckets). You also have to take into consideration that most teams consists of two stars, some three. Raptors have a good bench, but no one that can put up big numbers. When i think Raptors, i think Bosh. Not Bosh and TJ Ford, not Bosh and Bargnani. Bosh…HOF ?…Hall of famer !

  55. Coldchain says:

Who cares how many people live there, as far as the NBA is concerned Toronto is a small market. They’re hardly ever on national TV in America, and even when they were in the playoffs their games got the “B-list” treatment on TV even though they were playing against a team that had Vince Carter and Jason Kidd. Put it like this: if the Raptors ended up in the Finals it would have got low ratings just like Spurs/Cavaliers did. How many kids do you see walking around in Chris Bosh jerseys? In America, I don’t see any. I see more people walking around in Tim Duncan jerseys than CB jerseys. Sorry Canada your squad is small-market, deal with it.

  56. Coldchain says:

Oh, and as far as Bosh being a HOF guy, I think if he keeps putting up 20/10 numbers for 10-plus years he has a good chance. But he’s gotta win an MVP or at least get close to one in that time.

  57. Mike says:

For you stupid Americans That keep saying Tdot is a small market are just crazy. Toronto is a big Market Entertainment and NBA wise. It’s one of the NBA’s Largest Cities Market behind LA, NY, CHI. GO LOOK IT UP. You guys should do your research before writing, figures Americans don’t think before speaking. P.S don’t think I am Canadian, I am 100% American.

For the person that said they don’t see Chris Bosh Jersey in American, must not go out a lot, ever been to Dallas. I’ve seen plenty CB4 Jersey on kids.

  58. billy says:

another wasting time name on the list, how long has he player?

but for chris bosh, i am thinking unless he play with another great star to get the 2,3 rings, that is no way he can get in to HOF

  59. Raps fan says:

First off, how do you call the raptors a bad team?? 1st in the Atlantic and 3rd in the East last year. Clearly Bosh is not simply a good player on a bad team.
Secondly, the writter of this article clearly has no clue about economics since he is considering Toronto to be a small market. Ummm, 5 Million people!!! thats bigger than Boston and Miami. Considering the Canadian dollar is worth a hell of alot more then the american dollar how can anyone say Toronto is a small market. Get your facts right dime.

  60. t-dotb-ball says:

Americans are stupid. Bosh is a good player on a bad team and btw the raps are not even that bad. Last Year they started 2-8 this year 5-5 I’d rather have the 5-5 record than the 2-8. How can you call Bosh a bad player, He is putting up big numbers. This year Chris Bosh will definately shine.
I am an Economics Major, I go to university of Toronto and T-Dot is a BIG MARKET morons

  61. Justin says:

So many of you have no idea what you are talking about. I’ve watched all of Chris Bosh’s games in the last 2 years and your not giving him near enough credit.

  62. marko says:

I thank the people who have commented on Chris Bosh in a kind and friendly manner, like myself too, a Toronto Raptors fan. BUT, it is unfortunate there were also some HATERS, which we can’t control, their just the same as critics who just talk and don’t think before they speak!
    DIME>>Blog Archive>> The H.O.F Watch-Chris Bosh:
“And no doubt the Raptors fans love their guy, but do you ever really hear young ballplayers saying they want to play like Chris Bosh?”-Well,Iam a young ballplayer and I want to say and mention that I want to be like CHRIS BOSH because he is the un-sung HERO(*Talented, Lovable, Superstar*) out of the NBA Draft class of ‘03 in my heart.

  63. jj says:
