Hopefully people had a chance to see Ray in the finals. He was brilliant (aside from a mediocre game 5 when his kid was in the hospital). Paul Pierce may have been the MVP, but Ray-Ray was a close second. In addition to setting and tying some 3pter records, Ray made several patented drives to the hoop. I loved that driving lefty lay-up
at the end of Game 4! Let's face it: just like Jesus S., "He Got Game", so he is gong to the Hall of Fame'

It's the competition factor. Ray's one of my favorites to watch, plays the game right, hard, and smooth. His release is a basketball pleasure. And he's shown that he will hit big shots, which has been true for Boston all year. He may end up with the 3s record, which would help a lot.
But you can't put every all-star in the HOF. And Kobe and AI are IN, and Pierce and KG are IN, and I think Ray may get caught up on the fringe of too many greats. Kinda like Grant Hill. He's one of the very-very-goods, but maybe not an all-time great.

Ray Allen and the Hall of Fame? If definetly merits debate. Off of individual stats alone he deserves some consideration. He's averaged over twenty points for his career and as stated earlier should replace Reggie as the all time three pointer leader. He's in the top ten all time in FT% as well. He doesn't have a ring yet but he has a great 5-7 window to win a title in Boston. However in my mind Ray after Larry Bird is the most complete pure shooter the game has ever seen. Ray can run the point, can slash to the rack, and gets pretty good rebound numbers given his size. Ray also stands out in the golden era of two guards. Kobe, AI, T-Mac, Vince, Wade, Pierce, and Ray Allen are all HOF caliber. The only two locks out of that group that are 1st ballot are Kobe and AI. Wade needs more years, and the rest just need a ring and to pad the stats to get in.
