Alan my man...
You sure about that? Let's be serious for a second. We're not saying that Gonzaga is a bad squad, we're just saying they're not the 14th best team in the country.
Also, their best recruiting class ever coming in? Seriously? They have four kids coming in, only one of which can really play. Austin Daye is the four-star recruit, two of their guys are three-stars and the last dude is a two-star. The '04 class was definitely better with two four star players (Pendergraft and Heytvelt) and two three-stars (J.P. Batista and some French dude) - unfortunately for the 'Zags Heytvelt's off-court issues have prohibited from becoming the player they hoped he would, and Pendergraft hasn't lived up to the hype as the leader of a 28-0 Seattle Christian HS team.
And lastly... "Raivio was a volume shooter who just kept shooting and hurt his team in the end."
I would consider him more of an efficient scoring PG, as he posted 18 ppg on 46% shooting from the field, 41% from downtown. It's also a good thing for Raivio to try to penetrate and get fouled as a 96% free throw shooter.
As a matter of fact, let's look at what Raivio did in games that the 'Zags dropped last year:

Loss to Butler 79-71, Raivio shot 50% (5-10) from the field for 20 points, 5 reb, 4 ast. and had only 2 of Gonzaga's 15 turnovers

Loss to Wazzu, Raivio shot 50% (6-12) from the field for 21 points, 2 of 17 team turnovers

Loss to Georgia, Raivio shot 62% (8-13) from the field for 19 points, 2 of 21 team turnovers

It goes on like that...and I'm not sure what you mean by hurting his time "in the end" because he had a pretty solid finish to the season as Gonzaga won their last five games. The two losses before that to Santa Clara and Memphis can be attributed to ...

- poor team defense against Santa Clara in which they shot 61% (11-18) from downtown,

- and despite being overmatched by Memphis, they lost by 1 in OT

So, that's pretty much where the analysis of Gonzaga being overrated at #14 came from.

You guys must know very little about basketball.Your taking the obvious anti Gonzaga route which has been played to death. They may have lost their "best" player from last year but they have their best recruiting class ever coming in.Raivio was a volume shooter who just kept shooting and hurt his team in the end.Jeremy Pargo and Matt Bouldin are future draft picks and Dime as ever is the inferior brand of basketball magazine.

Having fun? Hook up with a girl if you wanna have fun. I've seen enough bombed-out "college kids" to know it's a serious red flag at any age.

you're not really in Washington state unless you're taking boomers. Plus, this is a college kid we're talking about here. It's a major red flag if it's a 30 year old pro, but a college kid in Washington? The kid's just having some fun.

Crack... I see what you're saying, but the Zags have four really tough matchups before January first in which any stumble could turn into a full-on collapse
12/1 vs. UConn
12/5 at Washington State (#10)
12/20 at Oklahoma
12/29 vs. Tennessee (#7)

I don't know bout Gonzaga... they got light work out in the WCC, so it's prob gonna be real easy for them to roll through and stay in the Top 25.
