Michael Redd - He’s going to be a tough call this week. He’s playing only 2 games and some of you will have to consider starting guys like Rondo or Steve Blake, who play 4 games. I chose 2 games of Redd over 4 games of Blake in one league, and suggested going with Rondo over Redd to someone who needed steals and assists in another league.
Yi Jianlian - I wouldn’t start him, but I’d make sure he’s on a roster. The kid’s offense is coming along.
Antoine Wright - Wright has been playing great off the bench this season and has been a Vince or RJ injury away from the opportunity for real fantasy value. Sound familiar? When RJ went down last year Antoine had the same opportunity and couldn’t take advantage. Now Vince is out (could be short-term, could be long … still waiting on MRI results) and Wright will be get the starting nod. If you have space, he’s worth the flier. He seems to have figured out his role in the league. Keep in mind, he could end up being cut-able within a week.
The Cavs’ frontcourt - Fantasy owners are loving the Anderson Varejao hold out. Big Z is having a turn-back-the-clock first 2 weeks (25 points last night) and Drew Gooden’s numbers are up as well (big double-double last night). Here’s the catch: Varejao is going to sign at some point, and probably soon. And if he doesn’t, C-Webb will. This will without a doubt affect Gooden and Big Z. What am I saying? Might be a nice trade-high time.
Linas Kleiza – The free agent forward market is insanely thin and Kleiza is probably out there. He’s going to play good minutes because of the injury to Nene and the limitations of Kenyon. Expect good scoring numbers and some threes. See if he can be a little consistent before you grab him.

Doc,
I’m in a 6 team, 9 category rotisserie league. I’ve been offered AI and Dirk for Deron Williams and Yao. I have Kobe, Gasol, Vince, Durant, artest, kirilenko, Bosh, Crawford, Kaman, Sheed, and Jamal Crawford. I know this is a bit different then the 12 team deeper leagues, but which duo do you think helps my team more?

AL says:
Doc,
I am in an 11-team, 9-cat roto league. My team is as follows:
Joe Johnson
Felton
Kinrich
Josh Howard
Duncan
J-Rich
Amare
Ben Wallace
Crawford
Salmons
I am behind in almost every category, apart from steals and ft%
I have been offered Arenas and Wilcox for JJ and Crawford. On the face of it this seems like a good trade for me, but is it worth it given the risk of Arenas’ knee?

Do you think I should trade one of my guards for a forward? I have too many of them. All of my big men have terrible FT % and I might have a chance to win FG% if I get rid of Tinsley or Nelson. Here’s my line up. What do you think I should do?
Jameer Nelson
Martell Webster
Deron Williams
Grant Hill
Andrei Kirilenko
Pau Gasol
Dwight Howard
Eddy Curry
Tony Parker
Jamaal Tinsley
Raymond Felton
Dwayne Wade
Andrew Bogut
Who’s better Shaq or Bogut for fantasy long term. Should I pick up Nenad in hopes of him returning back to his form from last year? Jason Williams or Jamaal Tinsley? Will Azubuike still get some playing time when Stephen Jackson returns? Thanks Doc!

In a head to head who’s better?
Kleiza or Nocioni?

djKianoosh says:
JO, I’m not the Doc, but to me, Nocioni, when getting minutes, is a stat stuffer. That’s the problem though. If you see him getting consistent minutes, go for it. Kleiza seems to be nice, but coach Karl has weird rotation habits. he’ll play a lot a bunch of nights, and then very little other nights. and even when he plays, he’ll only give you threes and points and not much else. true, AI is really looking for him a lot in these early games, but he’ll only help in a couple categories. Noce gives you a little of everything, and doesn’t seem to hurt in any really (maybe fouls).

Always on call, all these responses are coming from the blackberry so I apologize about the typos.
Tbest, I’d rather Deron and Yao.
Al, you have too many of the same players, but you also have some slow starters (hinrich, J-ho with injuries/suspension, wallace, amare and even joe johnson and J-Rich). Give it one more week.
N, lots of questions! You have a lot of guards. you could use a forward upgrade over grant hill if he’s playing forward for you. Shaq or Bogut’s kind of a toss up. I’ll say this, Shaq will probably play motivated as he tries to right the ship. His game has clearly slowed down though. I like tinsley over j will but there field goal percentage won’t be a combined 70 percent. Kelenna is legit but the Nellie system always scares me.
JO, be patient with Nocioni.

Jules says:
Im in a 10 team league. in last place….arenas/gasol not stepping up at all right now. need 3s and rebounds…as well as just about every category right now.
should I pick up Gibson or JR Smith? i would need to drop someone from Damien Wilkins, David Lee, Jose Calderon, or Mo Williams.

Jules says:
also, is Troy Murphy legit? would dropping Lee for Murphy be unreasonable?
it doesnt seem like Lee is getting enough PT right now, with Randolph and Curry healthy.

Doc, I’ve been offered Marvin Williams for Andris Biedrins. Already have Al Jefferson, Yao and Troy Murphy. Who has better value, Marvin or Andris?

wade-conscious says:
I recently made a trade, dwight howard for dwayne wade. I could afford to do this since I had zach randolph, emeka okafor, and j.o. on my team. I’m just scared to my brains right now that wade might not be able to go back to his old glorious self if and when he comes back.
What you think doctor? I’m in a ten-team h2h league by the way.
