Huggins gets his man
We’ve been following Kevin Jones‘ high school career for a minute. Last year, in Dime #27, we featured the 6-8 forward in a “What’s My Name?” along with Mount Vernon (N.Y.) High School teammate Sherrod Wright. Earlier this year, in Dime #34, we had Kevin — by this point garnering major attention from programs around the country — as the centerpiece of “The Recruiting Game,” where he gave us an insider account of what it’s like to be a highly sought-after recruit. We were at Rucker Park when KJ did his thing at the Elite 24 this summer, and also in Philly when he copped championship-game MVP at the RBK U camp. Along the way, KJ’s profile grew among college scouts, and going into his senior season, he had a slew of Big East, ACC and other programs to choose from. Today Jones committed to West Virginia, which you can read about over on High School Hoop. A solid get for Bob Huggins and the up-and-coming WVU program.
