Leave your fantasy hoop questions in the comments section and I will do my best to answer all of them.
T.J. Ford - It looked really bad, and knowing T.J.’s history with spinal/neck injuries, the incident is frightening. Without a doubt the Raptors are going to be extremely cautious with this injury. Even if Ford feels great, they are going to wait on this until everyone is 100% that’s ok to go. Jose Calderon is obviously a great start for the foreseeable future.

Josh Childress - Childress returned to action last night with a very Childress-like line of 29 minutes, 13 points and 4 boards.

Craig Smith - It wasn’t just the 36 points last night. Craig Smith has double-digit scoring in 4 straight games. Surprisingly he doesn’t have double digit boards in a game this season. He seems entrenched as the team’s power forward right now with Al Jefferson moving over to center. He’s an excellent short-term pick up.

Troy Murphy - Interesting. Murphy led the Pacers in minutes last night and was very productive. Murphy had a nice double/double of 14 and 12. If Troy gets the minutes and keeps his shot selection in check, he is a very useful 4th forward.

Kyle Lowry - CLEARLY the best point guard on the Grizzlies right now, Lowry (18 points) had his third game in a row with 30+ minutes and double digit points. He’s not going to be a great source of assists, but he should help a bit with points and steals. He’s also an above average rebounder for a little dude. That being said, he also has turnover issues.

Kirk Hinrich - Hinrich is clearly coming around, and so are the Bulls. If someone dropped him, grab him immediately. It looks safe to get him back in starting line ups. Hopefully you listened to me and were patient.

Andres Nocioni - Only 11 minutes last night should have Noc owners slightly concerned. Watch him tonight. Hopefully the limited minutes last night means bonus minutes tonight.

Darko - 12 points, 3 boards, and 0 blocks is not what we’re looking for from Darko.

Larry Hughes - WOW. In 26 minutes, Hughes went 13-17 for 36 points. It’s his second straight strong game and second straight game coming off the bench. Worth a roster spot? Maybe. Probably.

Anderson Varejao - 9 boards and I’d say 25 pounds in his first game back. Not awful. If you need a center, Varejao will have his moments. If either Z or Gooden goes down though he’s a must pick up.

Tim Duncan - Now questionable for Thursday, it looks like those who benched TD this week made the right move.

Matt Bonner - I know what he did… But the answer is no.

Kelenna Azubuike - Azubuike is back! Taking over for a banged up Monta Ellis (minor injury, but Ellis, like we’ve said is injury prone), Kelenna did his thing going for 16 points and 9 boards. I didn’t cut him in a league and hopefully you stayed patient as well. If he’s a free agent, he’s worth a roster spot.

Matt Barnes - I love Barnes. At some point this season he’ll have consistent value. Last night you saw the complete Barnes game (16 points, 8 boards, 4 dimes, 3 steals, 2 blocks, and 2 3’s). Like I always say, Nellie Ball is so frustrating.

Joel Przybilla - 6 blocks and 10 boards! Okay, Daily Fantasy! We said he could be a short-term pick up yesterday, hopefully if you were desperate you grabbed him.

Sean Williams - New Jersey is my least favorite team in the NBA to watch play basketball. Their home crowd is non-existent, Vince and RJ should be exciting to watch but aren’t, and Kidd has nobody to throw oops to… Oh wait. Yes, he does. Can someone please please please tell me why the Nets, who show a lack of energy night in and night out, are not playing Sean Williams? At this point, the kid has no value, but if things continue the way they are, the fall could begin with Lawrence Frank and we’d have to think a new coach gives Williams a real shot.

Here’s to hoping TJ is alright. It looked nasty. I wouldn’t say the Al Horford hit was an intentional dirty hit, but a dumb move none the less. He clearly got beat and shoulda just let him make the lay up.

  2. fiyaman says:

hope TJ gets better but I think it was a legit play. accidents happen

Bargnani is a FA in my league, worth a roster spot??

  4. The Fantasy Doctor says:

Scott, Bargnani is definitely worth a roster spot (esp. if he qualifies as a center). It just might be a little bit until he is getting starter quality stats.

  6. MSkittle says:

Should I drop Ryan Gomes to pick up Dorell Wright?

  7. James says:

    Hi Doc,

I was looking at both Larry Hughes and Brad Miller as additions to my roster. Should I pick them up and drop two? I have Joe Johnson, Steve Nash, Monta Ellis, Antonio Daniels, Jason Kidd, Keith Bogans, Stephen Jackson, Danny Granger, Andray Blatche, Al Horford, Jason Maxiell, Al Jefferson and LaMarcus Aldrige. Thanks!

  8. JA says:

Craig Smith or Chris Wilcox? Anyone have some thoughts?

  9. The Fantasy Doctor says:

MSkittle - Both are going to be inconsistent. Gomes seems a little out of the rotation though.

James, tough call. Blatche or Bogans are both somewhat dropable. I’d probably drop Bogans for Hughes but even that is a tough call. You don’t have a lot of blocks and I might stick with Blatche for that fact.

JA - Today Craig Smith. Tomorrow possibly Wilcox. Long run? Probably neither.

  10. on top says:

I have one pick up available… Hughes, Murphy, or Azubuike? I need threes, boards, and steals.

  11. The Fantasy Doctor says:

I mean… probably Azubuike. He’s the only one who gives you all three categories. That being said, you’re at the mercy of Nellie Ball. Hughes is the best bet for consistent minutes.

  12. G says:

Whats your take on Blatche v. Bargnani? Also Cuttino Mobley worth a roster spot?

  13. flyp says:

Is Kris Humphries worth a pick-up with his recent minutes/production?
