Ain’t No Stopping

No giant-killing going on in Boston last night. The Kings were up on the Celtics at halftime, but eventually reality set in that Sacto was no longer in Arco Arena, and the absence of Kevin Martin (bricked jumpers) and Mike Bibby (mass turnovers) was definitely felt … Paul Pierce (26 pts) crossed up Beno Udrih at the foul line one time and made him fall, after which Beno pulled the old playground staple “Something’s wrong with my shoes” trick. Udrih later came down and scored on a drive, and C’s announcer Mike Gorman asked, “Did you know Beno had that in his game?” Tommy Heinsohn quickly responded, “I didn’t know Beno had a game.” … The Celtics also went to the line 32 times versus only 12 for the Kings. Don’t blame the refs, though; that’s what happens when you settle for jumpers. Big Baby (starting for injured Kendrick Perkins) was 10-for-10 at the stripe and had 16 points and 9 boards … Where does Pierce rank amongst the League’s best small forwards? Here’s one Dime writer’s list of the NBA’s Top 10 at the position, and a lot of you have already responded that Josh Smith gets dissed here … Some of the Dime crew was at MSG for Sonics/Knicks. Pre-game we were in the locker room talking to Zach Randolph, who started talking about how much he loved the story Austin wrote on him a couple years ago. “Dime 28, right?” Z-Bo asked. (Actually it was Dime #19, but we’re not correcting a dude who checks in at like 6-9, 270.) … We also chatted with Kevin Durant before the game. (Have you seen his signature sneakers? Fire.) He said he talks to Michael Beasley after every K-State game; the two have been cool since they were kids in the D.C. area. Durant added that he thinks Beasley is doing far better than he did in college … Zach went out and beasted Nick Collison for 27 points and 16 boards, continually jab-stepping him to set up whatever move he wanted. But New York couldn’t do anything with Durant (30 pts). He absolutely took over in the last three and a half minutes, capping it with a huge dunk on David Lee … One time Kurt Thomas hit a jumper to help put the nail in the coffin and popped his jersey at the crowd. There’s some bad blood between Kurt and the Knicks, we’d presume over how they got rid of him. Last year when he was at MSG with the Suns, we remember Kurt was loudly complaining about how he’d been given the locker closest to the bathroom — usually an open spot that most teams only use to stash food if one of their scrubs isn’t stuck there … Jared Jeffries got the boos that Eddy Curry was getting last time out and that Steph usually gets when he’s in the lineup. You would think the NY crowd holds a meeting before every game and votes on who’s gonna get the treatment that night, because they’re mostly in-sync with whoever they’re picking on before the guy even does anything bad … What’s going on with the Magic? They haven’t won a game since coming off that wildly successful West Coast road trip — it’s like they were feeling themselves too much after that and then got lazy. So far it’s been losses to Indiana, Atlanta and last night, Milwaukee. They need to pull it together tomorrow in Charlotte and Saturday against the Grizzlies and make a statement, because next week’s slate is brutal: at Dallas, at Houston, home for Utah and at Boston … And speaking of feeling themselves too much, what happened to the Mavs? We just watched them swarm through MSG like midnight marauders on Monday, talking about being aggressive and knowing a target is on their backs, and Wednesday they laid a fat egg in Toronto. Seventy-six points? Chris Bosh (17 pts, 5 rebs) didn’t even kill, either. The Raps just shut the Mavs down … T.J. Ford was out of the hospital and on the bench, but will be held out of action the rest of this week. Can everyone stop trying to make something out of the the play where T.J. got hurt? Al Horford clearly had no malice, it was just one of those freak things that happens in a basketball game. And the “He’s got a previous neck injury, Horford shouldn’t have done that” argument is silly. Just because a guy has an injury history you’re supposed to let him score whenever he goes to the rack? Of course no one wants to see Ford get hurt again, but he knows the risks of taking the court … A couple of near triple-doubles from yesterday: Michael Redd had 27 points, 10 boards and 9 dimes against Orlando, and the Dalembeast had 18 points, 11 boards and 9 blocks against the Wolves … The Jazz are slipping; it’s now five losses in a row after last night’s L against the Suns. Shawn Marion, who’s been kinda quiet lately, busted out with 26 points, 15 boards and 5 blocks. Crazy that with how low Shawn’s release is on his jumper, you never see it get blocked … The Yao Ming “Show & Prove” Tour is underway after Yao called out his teammates earlier this week. Last night he went for 21 points, 13 boards and 4 blocks in a win over the Pistons. T-Mac was back from the ankle injury and scored 29, including a facial on Antonio McDyess. Later in the game, McDyess got another one from Yao where he ended up on his ass … Seriously, do we have to go down there and straighten out this whole Bo Outlaw/Travis Outlaw thing? So the Blazers aren’t the League’s marquee squad and Travis Outlaw isn’t an All-Star, but you don’t see anyone constantly mixing up Kendrick Perkins and Sam Perkins … Did you see where the Heat cut Penny Hardaway? Pat Riley implied it’s not necessarily the end of the line for Penny and that he could be brought back, but it hammers home the point that Penny has declined drastically, and that we’re all getting old. Our man Christian reflects on the Era of Penny … No Peja and no Mo Pete meant lots of Pargo and Rasual Butler for the Hornets, which meant they couldn’t quite get enough buckets to knock off the Nuggets. Chris Paul had 30 points and 12 dimes against A.I.’s 22 and 11, while ‘Melo dropped 30 … We’re out like Soft Yao …

  2. kowtz says:

    whoa…

Randolph had 16 rebounds???? really? 6 offensive rebounds???

Actually the knicks were playing great… Everybody stepped up… well except for nate and fred… the point guards… so if stephon would have played, they would have won… NOT!

If marbury played everyone’s game would have fallen… ;)

  3. kowtz says:

Oh, btw… marion’s 3 doesn’t get blocked because he does not take three’s unless the nearest defender is miles away…

besides… I would rather have marion jack up the three than let him pass by and posterize somebody…

  4. dre in o town says:

LoL, shows how much pride Yahoo! takes in there sports section.

  5. Captain America says:

On reality TV….Celtics get bested at home for 2 quarters by 8-12 Kings while playing without their starting back court.

  6. sans says:

it’s not just Yahoo, but NBA.com and NBA TV (essentially the same group) that think Travis is Bo. Not that Bo Outlaw does anything worthy of getting his pic put up anymore, but do you think that they have Travis’ pic on his bio?

  7. Gee says:

Yes i’m a winner, no not a loser,
to be an m.c. is what choose the
ladies love me, girls adore me
I mean even the ones who neva saw me… “Rob Base”

Ok again 82 games haters. When you dunk on a cat so hard that he comes down and falls and rolls his ankle in the process…man come on.

See I have no problem so to speak with those who critize Yao, but at the same time give it up the accolades when they are deserved.

Last night Yao played a wonderful game, and for all the times he gets dunked on, people never really give him the credit for how many times he yokes it on not just 1 person but often 2 or 3 people cause they can’t do nothing with him. Sometimes as last night, the stuff is vicious too.

This is just Gee here, but I could give a rat’s @ss about him not jumping and being supposedly soft. He certainly jumped high enough last night and if the way he played last night was soft, he can be tissue every night for my squad.

    Ming did his thing.

Can we get a free throw coach on the Rockets quickly lol. Dang last night was crazy. You know it’s bad when the crowd pops hard when you hit a free throw cause your whole team is missing them.

Refs were horrid in some of the calls of the Houston game. I think another investigation is needed.

The Suns are so fun to watch it’s ashame they run out of gas during the playoffs.

That Need4Sheed site is to funny.

Injuries suck! Pray your favorite player doesn’t get one! Specially Boston.

  8. Bust Jlaze says:

Yo kowtz…Marion shoots ALL his jumpers like that, not just 3’s…’splain THAT one to me! At least THEM joints should get blocked more often

  9. Str8baller says:

..maybe one day I’ll even read this column, but I’m too busy painting my toenails and typing FIRST BITCHEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

remember, I only go by Gayballer when you see me working the streets - swallow you whole !!!

  10. Bron42 aka Global4Areason says:

Gee, I see your point but when you only jump a inch and 1/2 off the ground, none of your dunks are really considered vicious lol, specially when their on 6′7 guys like nachbar and mcdyess lol. And it was the body that knocked him down, not the dunk so dont get too crazy like he pulled the rim down. But I see your point, he did hold his own last night, as did tmac. I’ve never said yao can’t play, I just say he doesn’t control games and isn’t a dominant force like everyone wants to portray him as.

Marions shot is ugly as anything but he release is super quick, thats the main reason he doesn’t get blocked.

how sad is it, not only did penny get cut, he got cut to make room for F’N luke jackson. Their tryin to turn him into the next jason kapono meanwhile penny was leadin the team in 3 pointers.

  11. Bust Jlaze says:

He does have a quick release…it’s funny though; every time he shoots and someone jumps to block it, I half-expect it to hit him in the face!

  12. Myrie says:

Sux that Penny got cut by Miami. He should either go to SanAn to catch on for a chip or close it out in Memphis where it all began for him.

Zach Randolph beasted the Sonics frontline, but I wonder if he can dunk?

Shawn Marion has the ugliest release in the league. But dude is also one of the most underrated ballers in the league.

  13. SWAT says:

Man it felt good to see the rockets play hard last nite. Good point though Gee that we need a free throw coach quick because that shit is ridiculous! I was so glad to see Yao play his heart out and to see Tmac (who adelman didn’t want to play) go out there and take it to the rack! C’mon boys wake up and start playing some ball.
and I have to say Str8baller what the hell are you talking about?
Glad to see Tj was ok, but the raps didn’t need him the way they beat the hell out of the Mavs!

  14. Bron42 aka Global4Areason says:

and people thought i was crazy when i ripped dirk and pointed out josh howard was nice lol Spurs maybe but theres no way penny goes to the memphis. Z-bo hasn’t dunked since he became a knick.

  15. isotope says:

Oh, for the fun of it:

    Pts Reb Blks TO
    Yao 21 13 4 1
    DHoward 20 13 1 5

  16. Myrie says:

    Bron42–
I can see Penny in a Spurs uni. As for the Grizz, might as well take it home. I’m sure he’s still loved over there.

Z-Bo dunked in Portland? I need video proof.

  17. mavid says:

Thanks for the part about Horford. Some people have been absolutely ridiculous. The guy is a class act, and as an ATL fan, I think getting him might be one of the top 5 most important things to ever happen for us (just wait, he’s gonna be a force for many, many years).

Also, the dude went to the hospital and waited for hours to personally talk to TJ. That speaks volumes to me.

  18. dagwaller says:

Yea, caught the games on ESPN last night, and I was way impressed with Yao and T-Mac…and absolutely no one else on the Rockets. When your center makes more free throws than the rest of the team combined, that’s bad. Fortunately, they have two straight up beasts as their top two, otherwise it could’ve been ugly…

Waited to post a whole article about Steve Nash, huh, Dime? He was the best player on the court (again) last night against the Jazz. Double double, led the game in scoring, assists, took charges, got hit and stayed in the game, and was the focus of numerous “plus minus when he’s in the game and out of the game” comparisons. You can just tell that the Suns, as good as they are offensively, can’t do much of anything unless he’s running the point. I was more impressed by the one time Marion used some moves on the baseline than by any of the shots he took. Amare had an off night, but you wouldn’t know it by how many points he ended up with. And for a game that featured two of the best PGs in the League (both commentators had a top five - 5-1 went something like Baron, CP, Deron, TP, then Nash), there were an awful lot of turnovers…

  19. Marcus says:

Gotta agree with mavid, horford did his job and went for the ball, he got the flagrant ejection, which was completely unnecessary, at most he should of got a flagrant 1. I mean honestly do you think football players stop from hitting quaterbacks cause they’ve had concussions. No, if you play the game, you know your taking a risk.
Oh and im from the T.dot
    scarlem always reps hard

  20. Gee aka Young Skippy B. says:

    Say Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn,
If yo girl starts acting up then you take a friend!

Bron lol I was thinking about you and that whole he doesn’t jump thing when I was typing. Then I thought if he really did jump wouldn’t that be weird. I mean he is tall enough where he really don’t have to.

Then again I don’t see Yao catching a lot of oops and stuff so I can feel you on the jumpin part there though.

Anyway come on Bron that dunk, be it by body or ball or whatever was a nice one for Yao. I say it’s vicious cause 1. It should have been an and 1 2. The way dude rolled his foot and went down to the floor all weird was comical and 3. if Yao doesn’t dunk that one hard like he did, none of that happens. Yea I am still going with vicious.

I think what a lot of people want to see is Yao run back down the floor doing a slinky shake like Old Shaq, yelling or poppin his collar after the dunk. Not in dudes make up or culture. That would be funny as heck though.

Anyway I love them sleeve things that McGrady had on and that A.I. wears a lot, I know they are for injury or something to that magnitude but they look fly, specially when you dunking.

For real for Christmas all I want from Santa is for Houston to get Deron from the Utah Jazz and get rid of all them crappy guards that can’t do squat on a consistent basis.

Bron I think it was you that brought it up, but yea there has to be a lot of self kicking for that Rudy Gay, Shane trade. You got to have O in the Leauge.

Shawn shoots like some disable kids lol. The junk goes in though, so I can’t trip lol.

Funny spot of last night Steve Franchise on the bench holding his hands over his eyes as his teammates shoot from the stripe. LOL @ least he is having fun on the bench lol.

  21. Cliff says:

NBATV is also mixing up Bo and Travis Outlaw.

  22. Bron42 aka Global4Areason says:

marions shot has always been ugly but it got him there so i doubt hes complainin. Just look at peja and sheeds jumpers.

Battier is a good glue guy but i’m really startin to think he doesn’t do enough to merit all the high fives the rockets got after the rudy gay trade. Your one star is hurt alot and your other star is soft, yet you trade a guy with all star “potential” for a guy who can take charges. They could of kept gay and just signed ime udoka or something.

And we don’t want yao to be shaq, we just want him to show some balls. your the biggest dude, use it to your advantage other than fade aways. I mean people rip eddy curry about his rebounding everyday..why? cuz hes so big he should be doin more. why cant we say the same about yao without gettin some “what about shawn bradley and manute bol” excuse.Hell tyson chandler averages more rebounds than yao. But again, yao did his thing this game against a good team (i’m NEVER callin a yao dunk vicious though) and his team won so i can only hate alil today lol

  23. insanejack says:

Can Fat Eddy Curry even dunk?

NY is just sad, the best dunker on the team is 5′7, the people who are closest to being 7′ tall can’t/barely can dunk. Jerome James, Fat Zach and Fat E probably can’t even dunk, and you know David Lee can only barely dunk (he’s white). Pathetic.

  24. Gee aka Young Skippy B. says:

LOL @ only hate a lil. No doubt. Yao ain’t the most atheletic cat though, that Yi dude is even more atheletic.

ESPN was doing this thing on all of TJ’s injuries and Bill Walton then gives his advice without blinking…”He should retire.”

I was like dang Bill can dude at least take a break or come back slowly with less minutes, but just retire???

    I can’t stand Bill Walton..what a maroon.

Do you think J.V.G. is hoping the Rockets do horrid this year?? I remember when he was doing the announcing for one Rockets game and Bonzi got brought up. I have to say J.V.G. was very diplomatic and nice, but his whole take on Bonzi not playing hard for him and playing hard now had this whole “Ain’t that some sh@t” ring to it lol.

I am so happy for the other Van Gundy after the way Pat threw him under the bus (even though he really went under the bus without a fight).

  25. dagwaller says:

Ha. I mean, I don’t hate on E-City unless it’s to compare him to someone else. I respect his offensive game for sure. Same as I respect Tyson Chandler’s game, which is all predicated on defense - he BETTER average more boards than Yao.

For the record, I spotted Yao outrunning Sheed AND McDyess, so I guess those are two guys we can say are slower than Yao. And there was the time that he ran the length of the court to block Earl Watson at the rack (called for goaltending). Also saw T-Mac bending over grabbing his shorts, so maybe HE’s just as out of shape as Yao. And Yao icing the last free throw of the game and getting the rebound at the buzzer could be considered clutch, if you’re into that kind of thing.

But maybe that’s piling on the Yao haters…

  26. Alf says:

Just thinking…if a ball goes up around a net and the following were battling for the rebound:

i.) Oliver Miller [in his prime - so think Suns/Raptors]
    ii.) Glenn ‘Big baby’ Davis
    iii.) Robert Tractor Traylor
    iv.) Zach Randoplh

Who would box out who and win?

  27. insanejack says:

    Alf,

If it were a ball, I would say Miller.

If it were a doughnut, I think there would be bloodshed and it would be a battle until the death…with Fat Zach pulling through. The only winning that guy will ever do is eating shit.

  28. nick says:

has anyone seen z-bo dunk ever?

  29. isotope says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ET-9Y8d_7Pc

thats the closest you’ll find to a Randolph dunk. lol.

  30. doc says:

It’s not a shame Penny got cut he ain’t do shit for like 12 years. And Durant is top 10 SF’s now.

  31. Austin Burton says:

Z-Bo can dunk. I’ve seen him do it a handful of times. And he’d win that rebounding battle.

Now everyone stop dumping on my favorite NBA player.

  32. insanejack says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ET-9Y8d_7Pc

Why is that even on youtube? That is a waste of server and internet space.

Fat Zach is someone’s favorite player? WTF? Even his mom likes Starbury or Eddyboy better.

  33. Bron42 aka Global4Areason says:

austin must have seen him dunk in a high school game cuz it sure wasn’t pros lol

I love how dag tries to grasp at random occurances like it changes the majority of yaos career. Are you SERIOUSLY tryin to say yao isn’t slow cuz one time he beat sheed up the court? lol or because he gets a rebound in a game that doesn’t really matter changes the fact he’s been owned his last what…3 playoff experiences? lets not put hairs here man. i’m sure us “yao haters” can name aloooooot of times he didn’t do that shit.hell we coul just ask boozer to name a few considerin yao helped make his career. Boozer at home: “ya man, that game was great, and this guy was huge, but no big deal, I averaged like 40 points, 12 rebounds, couple assists, couple blocks..man i was feelin it. they probably should of put someone on me”

  34. BC says:

I don’t see how Nate R. can be the best dunker on the Knicks when it takes him 50 tries to even get 1 dunk down…. Fred Jones is the best dunker on the Knicks.

Also - white or not, David Lee won the dunk contest in the 2001 McDonald’s HS All-Star Game. So, by that fact alone he is a better dunker than Zach, Curry, and the rest of the donut lovers on the Knicks.

Although… Matt Bonner also won a dunk contest (in college), so David Lee’s accomplishment is apparently not all that remarkable.

  35. isotope says:

Bron, thanks once again for proving your low basketball IQ. In the 1st round of last years playoffs; Houston vs Utah:

    Boozer 24.5 ppg 11 rpg
    Yao 25.1 ppg 10 rpg

Yeah, Yao really halped make his career. In fact Yao should call him daddy boozer from now on. Dude totally sonned him.

    Puhlease!!!!!

  36. dagwaller says:

Ha. Bron, my point is that when people in general, not just you, call Yao out for being slow, out of shape, and soft, it’s a perception thing. So when a guy plays AN ENTIRE GAME the opposite way it’s perceived, I’m going to point it out, especially if it’s a topic we’ve been talking about. Notice that I never talk about J-Kidd/Nash anymore, because it’s not something that really comes up anymore.

And I also, if you noticed, gave props to T-Mac, even though I usually bust on him a bit. I call ‘em how I sees ‘em, and last night I got to see an entire Rockets game, and I didn’t spot one soft, slow, or out of shape moment for Yao. Didn’t see T-Mac get injured or take too many shots. All I saw was that the REST of the team needs lots of work…

  37. mattie says:

of course horford did not intentionally try to hurt TJ, but he did try to intentionally foul him. it was a stupid hack out of frustration - all this ‘basketball play’ talk is bs. if it’s a basketball play, why don’t players hack like that every time someone goes up for a layup or a dunk? if you’re going to intentionally foul someone on a fast break, don’t try and tomahawk your way into the highlight reels while the guy is flying through mid air, just grab him around the waist and make him earn the points from the line. and if you watch the replays of the horford/tj incident, especially the one from right over head, it is evident he was no way near getting the ball.

also it doesn’t matter who it was, any player would have landed on their head after being hit like that. imagine the uproar if it was dwayne wade or lebron or kobe.

i don’t doubt that horford is a good guy, but he made a really stupid play and i hope he remembers it the next time he’s going up for a dunk on a breakaway.

  38. Bron42 aka Global4Areason says:

    BC:
David lee didn’t even deserve to win the dunk contest, he won it specifically cuz he was white. james white goes from the foul line with 2 hands and 6′8 david lee does a reverse alley. you compare.

    isotope:

    1. not stating stats wouldnt have anything to do with basketball IQ ass.
    2. I was being sarcastic, hence boozer never really said all that. so can i please remove my nuts from your mouth since you wanna jump on everything i say even when its not serious?
    3. My point that you OBVIOUSLY once again missed was the fact that yao didn’t stop boozer or okur. that was the biggest reason they lost along with AK coming alive in game 5. plain and simple. Boozer hit big shot after big shot over yao with lil chippy 10 footers. Yao doesn’t and cant control games which is why he will never be a great center.

    Dag:
I understand, but him having one good game doesn’t correct the rest of his career. Its perception because 90% of the time, thats how he is. If gerald wallace puts up 61, people arent suddenly gonna be calling him a shooter. If yao was like this for a whole season then ok, but pulling random times (they weren’t even all from the same game) doesn’t help much. And on top of that, i said both yao and tmac had good games. so i barely even hated on yao.

    mattie:
go watch a basketball game before you talk. It wasn’t even a hard foul. Horford got faked out, happens all the time. He jumped, swung where the ball WAS, tj reversed and got caught. Also horford wasn’t goin for the dunk so why would he remember it? tons of people get bodied when they go for dunks or layups, nothing new. so lets not make it like it was a mafia hit. The simple fact that he hit TJ with the same hand he went for the ball with shows it was a accident cuz its not like he went for the block, got mad and then yoked him with the other hand.

  39. K-Dizzle says:

    Bron

I think what Mattie’s sayin is he hopes Horford thinks about gettin hit in the face from behind in a position where you cannot defend yourself therefore landing on your head the next time Horford goes for a dunk or lay-up. Much as people are saying, Horford isn’t a dirty player, but that play was dirty. The more I see it, the more I wonder what he was going for. He wasn’t near the ball and wouldn’t have blocked it cuz as players learn, you use the rim to protect your shot and TJ was goin reverse. You know it’s a sick foul when Horford’s own teammates are all like ‘WTF?’ Hopefully, TJ comes back and can maintain his aggressiveness cuz if that was me gettin whacked in the grill when I wasn’t expecting it, It would be in the back of my mind

  40. Bron42 aka Global4Areason says:

i kno what ya mean dizzle but it wasnt dirty. there was no body contact. plus i assume you play basketball so you know. if someone is running for a break and you get the angle on them, you go up with them. after that point you don’t really have much control over if they reverse or not cuz your lookin for the ball. he swung for the ball and tj attempted to reverse it, its was legit defense that went bad. watch horfords face right after it happened, he looked like he was gonna cry. Its like when jordan had that layup against the lakers where he switched hands. if someone went up to punch his shot, then jordan switched and got hit in the eye because of it. its just a mishap. its not like were talkin gerald henderson/psycho t

  41. Ian says:

bron how can u knock someone down without your body?

  42. Ian says:

and bron why do u always talk about putting your balls on another mans mouth???

bron if someone that has never seen yap before reads your posts he would think yao and bradley are the same guy not a 25 10 2 guy that he is
why dont we talk about how big a loser his superstar teammate is
yao is real good why should he get more than 10 boards and outrebound tyson chandler how only works on that ?

  43. bron42 aka Global4Areason says:

    Ian:
are you talkin about yao and mcdyess or tj and horford?

as for the balls? what can i say, i play alot of ghost recon and teabagging is the ultimate sign of disrespect. plus if some fag is all over me about some argument hes completely off base about, translation he needs to get off my nuts.

as for his superstar teammate? lets look. whats tmacs biggest knock? he hasn’t made it out the first round right? last I checked, neither has yao. So from there alone hes just as much a loser as tmac is. Not to mention he hasn’t got out the first round with steve francis in his prime (who was a record setting bad dude back then) and tmac in his prime. Some people who even watch yao play think him and bradley are the same. ya is good, not great, not really good. Hes a good center in a crop of terrible ones. Hes not elite, hes not hall of fame (he’ll get in just for his global appeal), hes not one of the greatest in history. Hes a scoring center who doesnt dominate or really control games. that will always keep him from being better than he is. tmac has reached every level yao has by himself, yao barely does it with another allstar on his team. yao should get more than 10 boards cuz his team needs it. Its called stepping up. tyson chandler is a better defender and rebounder and isn’t asked to score, which is why he isn’t the franchise player. houstons tries to say yao is the franchise player when he hasn’t done much other than bring global $$ and still lose in the first round JUST LIKE TMAC. so everytime you say tmac sucks cuz he loses in the first round, you better say right behind it that yao sucks just as much if not more. so how can you possibly hate on tmac and then praise yao for doin even less? the rockets could lose for the next 5 years and everyone would just blaim tmac while yao skates.

Bron, while the balls in mouth comments wouldn’t be my first, I hear you - Halo is another teabag happy environment.

You might notice (well, I think we both have) that I comment a lot in response to you, and that’s mainly because YOU are guilty of the same hypocrisy your’e accusing Ian of. You just make a bunch of stuff up about Yao without any proof, and then go blow T-Mac. So when other people write nice things about Yao and you go against it, T-Mac is an obvious target, because you seem to forget that your boy is just as much a failure as the guy you’re busting on. Personally, I like both of them, but I know a hypocrite when I see one.

“and you know David Lee can only barely dunk (he’s white). Pathetic.”

David Lee won the McDonalds High School dunk comp in like 2001 or somthing, he beat James White, he is actually for his size and frame a very nice dunker.
