Warning Sign

If you saw the Celtics/Pistons game last night (or the highlights), you know that Chauncey won the game at the stripe in the final seconds after getting Tony Allen to bit on a nasty head fake. Turns out, that pump fake was something that Doc Rivers had repeatedly warned his players about. From today’s Detroit Free Press:

WARNING TIME: Rivers said he gave his players plenty of prior notice to defend Billups correctly on the game-winning play.

“One of the things we kept saying (at shootaround) is, ‘Chauncey Billups pump-fakes, Chauncey Billups pump-fakes,’ ” Rivers said. “And Chauncey Billups pump-faked into a foul. So it was a good lesson for us there.”

I was there too DueceDuece. He really is. Don’t get why Rondo wasn’t in instead (there wasn’t time for Chauncey to back him down for an easy bucket like he’d been doing all game and at least he wasn’t cold like TA.)
