IMAGE DESCRIPTIONWhat do you do with Gilbert?

As always, drop any fantasy questions in the comments box and I’ll do my best to answer as many as possible. – The Doc

Anderson Varejao – Finally Varejao signs an offer sheet with someone. The Cavs now have one week to match the Bobcats’ offer. AV would have much more value on the Bobcats than the Cavs, and probably won’t do anything but hurt Big Z’s value if he ends up back with Cleveland. That being said, there was a stretch last season where Varejao put up great fantasy numbers. It only lasted a few weeks, but it showed some potential.

Jared Dudley - I was watching the ‘Cats last night and almost wrote a post about grabbing Dudley immediately. Then I looked at the game logs. Yes, Dudley is in the starting five and should get nice numbers once in a while, but his minutes have been up before and last night was clearly his best effort. I just don’t know if the consistency on the points and boards will be there this season … or at least until the second half. I’d watch him one or two more games and see how the Varejao deal shakes out before making a decision, unless of course you have an easy guy to cut.

Gilbert Arenas, Elton Brand & Mike Bibby – All three players were traded in my keeper league yesterday. With only three bench spots in our league, teams who have been holding injured players had other roster problems and had to deal. If you’re looking good in your league, it may not be a bad time to try and get one of the injured guys on the cheap now.

Darko Milicic – Ugh. Darko rolled his ankle and looks like he’ll be out a significant amount of time. Varejao, anyone?

Keith Bogans, Joakim Noah & Carlos Delfino – All three guys should be owned in deep leagues, and both Delfino and Bogans should be owned in just about all leagues. All three had nice nights yesterday and Bogans and Delfino have been pretty consistent.

    Hey Doc…good stuff, as always.

Shallow league…no talent on the wire. Standard cats.

Would you trade josh Howard for AK? I don’t think I’ll be able to win pts consistently, so I’m thinking about focusing on other cats. How about Josh Howard and Childress for AK and Ty Chandler?

  2. Chi-Town Player says:

Thoughts on Boris Diaw … (20players H2H) I haven’t dropped him due to his 5reb and 4 ast avg.

my dirk and okafor for chauncey and david west? what do you think?

  4. finance_lady23 says:

what about my kidd and stephen jackson for baron and durant?

  5. WuMan says:

    Hi Doc,
What do you think of Andray Blatche’s performance in the near future? Can he keep up with his current avg 8pt 5reb and most importantly 2 blk? Is Diop or Maxiell a better overall option than Baltche? Any other under the radar shot blocker? Thanks.

  6. finance_lady23 says:

not sure what to do. i have two offers:

my dirk and kidd for melo and chris paul or
my dirk and okafor for chauncey and david west.

whats a better deal for me? i can give up boards, i need assists, steals, and points.

  7. Rockets says:

Yahoo H2H. These are my guards.

    D-Wade
    Jameer Nelson
    Raymond Felton
    Tony Parker
    Jamaal Tinsley
    Deron Williams

I’m killing in Assists and Steals. Should I drop someone for Stephon Marbury? I don’t usually win rebounds or FT’s. Should I drop Eddy Curry or Bogut and pick up Brand? Should I trade high Nocioni and Grant Hill or continue to keep them? Thanks!

  8. MoxInTheWest says:

Finance, I would hold on to dirk. that kidd and jax for baron and durant looks pretty good to me. But im not the doc…

  9. chriskaman(yourmouth) says:

    hey doc,
i was just wondering what your thoughts were on kirk hinrich and gerald wallace. they are both off to extremely slow starts relative to where they were projected and the fact that they were both top 30 yahoo players last year. i have both of them and was wondering what you thought. i am off to a slow start in my L and was thinking about swinging a few trades out there. do you think i should ride it out a little longer or see what’s out there…thanks for the help buddy.

  10. The Fantasy Doctor says:

fantasy patient – I like you getting Chandler and AK. Don’t love the other deal as much.

Chi-Town – It sounds like a deep league. gotta hold onto Diaw. Remember, he’s one Phoenix injury from being a fantasy monster.

Finance Lady – NOOOOO to Okafor deal. The Kidd deal is better but still don’t do it.

WuMan – Right now, the fact that Blatche is blocking 8 shots a week is enough to give him value. He should get better, have the occassional big game, and hopefully be someone you can confidently start. Right now, he’s a bench guy.

Finance Lady – You need to start offering trades. Right now, you’re league is trying to pull one over on you. Even the trade where you’re getting CP and Melo isn’t good enough.

Rockets – You’re clearly in a shallow league so there are always going to be tempting free agents on the waiver wire. I probably wouldn’t drop any of the guys you mentioned (I know Curry is driving you mad), but I would look to deal Grant Hill while his value is high if it is something you think you can do.

chriskaman (couldn’t write the whole thing out) – Hinrich is killing owners right now. I truly believe he’ll snap out of it and get better. I think he has always been a bit overrated but he’s much better than he is playing. Don’t give up yet. The whole Bobcats squad is in a rut. It’ll get better and Wallace will end up doing fine for you.

  11. Lady Luck says:

    Fantasy Lady,

I see you asking questions everyday. It seems to me that you have a good team as is. I think the Fantasy Doc is right, your league is trying to take advantage of you. Don’t fall for it! What place are you in currently?

I don’t think you should trade Kidd and Dirk for Melo and Paul, only because I have Melo, and where he gives you a lot, he KILLS on turnovers. Kidd is a walking triple-double.
