It’s This Bad
The Knicks are a mess. No secret there. They need to clean house, starting with Isiah. No secret there either. The circus that they’ve become rivals any debacle that pro sports has ever seen – the antics just of the last year or so are like something out of a movie.
We haven’t really heard a whole lot from the players though. All of Steph’s stuff has understandably overshadowed anything going on with any of his teammates, but you would think there’d be more angst coming from the locker room. Malik Rose had his thing last week where he asked to be kept on the inactive list so that he could keep working out to keep himself in the best shape possible in case he gets traded, but that’s kind of it. Today’s column from Peter Vecsey in the NY Post gives a little insight into what some of the players are saying:
Only players owning guaranteed mega-million contracts dare show it – on a nightly basis. They do not want to play for him. Many, I’m told, have asked, demanded and screamed to be traded at assistants in the dressing room after looses.
Malik Rose is on the record as wanting out. Quentin Richardson, David Lee and Eddy Curry also are begging to be gone.
The good news is, Nate Robinson, I’m informed, has spewed, too, a desire to distance himself from the insane asylum run by Nurse Ratched, er, Thomas. Who wouldn’t want such an inventive maker of plays? No matter how well he’s covered, IncrimiNate is always able to find himself open for a shot.
How depressing have the Knicks become? The other night a player told me Curry was moaning on the bench, “Get me out of here. Please get me out of here.”
Hey, I’ve got an idea: Fire Isiah instead.

Knicks are a mess, but Peter Vecsey makes up his own stories. He’s been doing it for years. He has no insight, always quotes “my sources tell me…” He is full of shit.
I am not posting to protect the Knicks, (all of you on here know I am a diehard Knicks fan; NYK is my blood type), but Peter Vecsey sucks at his job. He lost his credibility years ago.
oh yeah….Ian O’Connor, you ain’t shit either.

Prof. TX says:
The Knicks have talent, just not in the coach or owner’s positions. They need someone who’s going to be strict with the players and bring some discipline (JVG?). Isaiah has said he won’t quit, that Dolan has to fire him, and that’s not going to happen if it hasn’t happened yet. Someone else has to step in and force a change.

I’m with Myrie on this one…the Knicks are definitely bad, but that’s probably the ONLY accurate statement in this whole write-up. Vecsey makes it up as he goes along…

Brown says:
Dolan’s gotta take the most blame on this one. If you’re running a business, and you have an employee who’s as bad at his job as could possibly be imagined, it’s up to the boss to fire him. Instead, Dolan gives him a “vote of confidence”. WTF is wrong with him? It’s so blatantly obvious that Isiah should be fired, so why won’t Dolan do it? Do they sleep in the same bed at night or something? I just don’t understand. The players hate Isiah, the fans hate him, the media hates him, even David Stern doesn’t like him for his sexual abuse fiasco, which should have gotten him fired immediately anyways. It seems so cut and dry, I just don’t understand why why Dolan won’t shit or get off the pot. Any idiot can see what needs to be done, but Dolan has proved that he’s a special kind of idiot, and it’s getting worse as time goes on.

bahahahahaha
The knicks are like the NBA’s disfunctional family.
Poor losers.
I wonder, if with a new coach, new players and a new outlook the knicks might stop sucking. I dunno just a thought.
We shall see.

I’m kinda glad Isiah is destroying the Knicks. He is creating a team that is perfect to hate, a team which everyone loves to see fail. NY “fans” hate the team, the playeres hate the team, the media hates the team, everyone hates the team, it’s great.
Isiah is gathering up all the fat retards in the league in one place. NY is the new jailblazers, hopefully they pickup Manu, Artest and Darius Miles so they have the perfect shit storm of crazy and overrated suckyness.
“No matter how well he’s covered, IncrimiNate is always able to find himself open for a shot.” The whole article might be shit, but this quote is gold.

Myrie says:
Here’s what the Knicks should do:
Shakeup managment. MANAGEMENT not OWENRSHIP. The Dolan family is not going to strip itself of the team. The Knicks (amongst other outlets) brings the family billion$ of dollars a year.
Now is the time to reach out to Jerry West and challenge him to take on the position as team president. Jerry West will bring instant credibility to the Knicks on the basketball side. He is probably the most respected front office person.
Knicks should go after him at all cost. And let him reign with a free hand and no involvement from Jim Dolan (schmuck).
Then…we move to the coach. We all love Isiah the player and that is as far as it goes. Isiah the NBA coach, Prez, GM, whatever…needs to go!
Isiah Thomas needs to be fired and take his career to the D-League. Or stay on with Knicks in the capacity of a scout. Isiah does have a good track record when it comes to draft picks.
Jerry West (wishful thinking I know, but he is the right man for the job) should look to hiring coaches. Rudy Tomjanovich, with his credentials is a possibility. Paul Silas (short term) will hold players accountable and can better help Eddy Curry (if Curry is around). Chuck Daly would be my preference.
Then shakeup the roster. Knicks have talented players, but they don’t completely mesh together nor compliment each other.

Gee ... Bill Walton is horrible says:
Ok I am not a Knicks fan. I just need someone who is to tell me why is Madison Square so great??? I went there for a Knicks game some time ago for the first time. I was expecting this grand place where it was just awesome and regal.
Honestly it was pretty dirty, the seats are way to close together (seriously way to close) and the building itself is way smaller than I thought.
Now I know history wise it’s like you haven’t done a lot until you have done Madison Square, but I just fail to see where its the shiznit???
So I am just asking what’s up why is it so great, please someone from N.Y. or a Knicks fan tell me what’s up.
As far ask the Knicks I am just want them to do like Portland and get rid of a lot and start all new. I think it would serve everyone involved better.

djKianoosh says:
knicks should just cut their entire roster and pick up some playground ballers, like those that play on that 4th street court in the lower west side of manhattan, from all over the city. they’d show more heart than these overpaid bums.
seriously. just stop trading big contracts for longer, bigger contracts. here’s an idea, let the contracts expire! then get your players through the draft and overseas. above all, fire isaiah and get a real coach and a real gm and a real front office that knows how to scout, evaluate and develop players. in a few years, you’ll have a chance.
knicks and their fans have been in this delusional fantasy world for years now, where they actually think they have a team with a shot at doing anything in the playoffs.

What the heck is taking so long for the NBA to take action on this whole NYKnicks debacle!? I mean seriously, is it going to take Isiah running into the stands and beating up a women to get any action from the League!? How much more crap can be piled on to this pile already?
