“The Locker Room is Made for People Who Yell”
Smush (Photo. Tim Tadder)This morning’s Miami Herald has a small bit about how the Heat might be looking to deal Smush Parker in the very near future:
One Heat person expects the team to try to trade him when he becomes eligible Dec. 15. Besides struggling on the court, Parker has had a tough adjustment to the Heat’s culture, associates say. Parker admitted last month that Pat Riley’s style is “real demanding — different from Phil Jackson and what I’m used to. Phil didn’t yell at all. Here, the locker room is made for people who yell.”
That last line cracks us up – it makes it sound like the Heat locker room is something from one of the Saw movies. Now, we like Smush, and we’ve had him in the magazine many times over the years, but come on. You chose to sign with Miami; it’s up to you to do your homework to find out what the culture and coaching style is like there before signing a contract.
