T.J. Ford Update
The Atlanta Journal Constitution just dropped an update on T.J. Ford‘s condition:
Raptors guard T.J. Ford was released from the hospital and was to return to Toronto on a noon flight.
Ford was held overnight at an Atlanta hospital after crashing to the floor when fouled by the Hawks Al Horford during Tuesday night’s game. He has been medically cleared after being carried off on a stretcher.
Ford did experience temporary numbness after the fall and remained overnight in Atlanta for precautionary reasons.

This is great news. I know I’ve been hard on Ford lately, but felt he deserved the criticism. Although last night, I must admit, he played probably the best game I’ve seen him play in a Raptors uniform. His shot selection was great, he was getting to the cup (and finishing almost all of them), played good help defense, and was setting up his teammates – everything you want a PG to do.
Seeing him bounce his head off the floor was scary, but it didn’t look like his spine was impacted too hard. No matter how much I may criticize a player for his play, I don’t want to see them get injured.
Calderon played great, and together they guided their team to victory. He’s been very consistent all year, and hopefully TJ can improve in this area. It’s just good to see he’s ok, cuz I’d never want to see anyone go out like that.

The thing about concussions/brain injuries is that after 5 or 6 you stand the risk of becoming a vegetable after your next hit.
Ford needs to take care and not rush this.

yeah…funnay aint it…
though after seeing the replay… I think it was the whiphlash when horford kinda pulled his head back that cranked the neck, and not the fall nor the head bump…

Kowtz, I think you’re right. He kinda went limp in mid-air.

Horford is such a knuckle head, he was miles away from the ball, had no chance what so ever to block that lay up.
