The Bulls are Bad, “Experts” are Worse

IMAGE DESCRIPTIONPhoto. Monte Isom

Normally, we try to not pay any mind to “experts” who think they know everything there is to know about the game, even though they most likely have never even picked up a basketball. Sports radio and TV broadcasts are full of guys like this and in general, we like to just ignore them. Sometimes though, these guys can get ridiculous. Check out this clip from a Chicago-area sports show, entitled “Does Noah Need Saving?” where four knuckleheads are sitting around just killing guys on the Bulls. Some highlights include one guy calling Joakim Noah “obnoxious,” “immature,” claiming that Joakim “can’t play,” and that he’s a “wasted pick.” A little quick to judge after just 27 games into his NBA career don’t you think?

They go on to kill Ben Wallace (”he’s a cancer”), Tyrus Thomas (”he can’t learn a scheme”) and even Adrian Griffin (”he’s called more team meetings than he’s scored points this year”).

And on top of that, they can’t even seem to get the Paxson brothers straight. Just absurd.

The Bulls are obviously a mess, and a lot of the latest drama stems from THIS, but there’s just something about guys like this being given a platform to scream nonsense at each other that rubs us the wrong way. Check out the clip HERE and let us know what you think.

I turned it off right when Giangreco said that Noah “can’t play in the NBA” and was a “wasted pick”.

First of all, that’s just ignant.

Secondly, who were they supposed to pick? Spencer Hawes?? Ohhhkay.. the guy who’s already had two microfracture surgeries. Who else was so good at the 9 pick?

and Marc Silverman flip-flops more than the Jesse White Tumblers, the guy needs to find a position and stick with it. So annoying.

  2. Jules says:

    first link is bunk btw.

  3. fallinup says:

List of things that John Paxson kicks himself daily about:
    1) The Eddy Curry drama. (the start of John’s fall from grace)
    2) Trading Tyson Chandler for cap relief and Big Ben’s giant contract.
    3) Signing Big Ben for way more than what he’s worth.
    4) Trading picks to receive Tyrus Thomas, and letting the Double Double Stud, LeMarcus Aldridge go to killing it in Portland.
    5) No major moves in the 2 previous off seasons when Chitown clearly needed help. (a big man that can score)
    6) Not re-upping with Ben Gordon or Luol Deng.

I could note many more…but all the reporters need to shut up. Because they too, were probably the ones picking ChiTown to challenge for the Eastern Crown this June…If the Bulls don’t make any major shake ups by the trade deadline…John Paxson should be out of a job.

  4. chrisGO says:

yup, living in chicago Im stuck watching these “experts” on any given night…as ignorant as most of their claim are, I do have to agree with Ben Wallace being a cancer. Im not saying hes a piece of $#%!, but at the end of the day- is he earning his 60M contract?

    NO.

…and to pour salt in the wound, its nice to see how Chandler is going off in NO. WTF!

If any changes are to be made (other than the obvious need for a low-post presence), its the need to change GMs. John Paxson has done more harm than good (especially as of late).

The only good thing he’s done was to ship off Eddy Curry to the Knicks for draft picks….but what do we do with those draft picks? TRADE Lamarcus Aldridge and DRAFT another low-post guy with limited offensive skills.

    …im out like my patience

  5. Brown says:

Fallinup, you hit the nail on the head. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Paxson should have fired Scott Skiles over the stupid headband drama too. Or at least nipped it in the bud before it got out to the press.

  6. Mike says:

As a Chicago sports fan, I might not agree with some of the wording these guys used to describe the Bulls, but they are right on the money in the overall discussion. The Bulls are in a very, very bad position right now.

In the last few years, they let mature Elton Brand go for a young, undeveloped Tyson Chandler. Then just when Tyson is about to have a break out season, they dump him to make room for an aging, unproductive Ben Wallace who was just looking to get paid.

One point in the video clip I completely agree with - Gorden or Deng should have been signed or dealt in the off season. There is not one guy on the Bulls who can create their own shot, and that is killing us right now. This season is looking very much like the Bulls did 3 years ago. …

  7. T.M.P.B.W.O.T.P. says:

Imagine if they had drafted Brandon Roy in ‘06…

  8. Logan Light says:

    I love it!

How absurd for these guys to sit around and analyze the inner makings of an NBA franchise?! I would love to see them in Paxson’s position. No way they would trade Deng in the off season like they said they should have. Dumb.

The video is hilarious either way you look at it. If not for what dude says, then for how he looks! I don’t think Marc Silverman blinked the entire video! “I love this team like nobody else!” Hahaha.

  9. Myrie says:

    All–

I don’t get to follow the Bulls that closely, but what was the detailed reason for Noah to be suspended?

I couldn’t open the link attachments above

  10. 2 Easy says:

That is some soft garbage right there. So easy to criticize yet they offered what 2 solutions? Now Skiles shoulda been fired a while ago cause ive been hearin complaints about dude for a while but cause the Bulls were playin well they didnt wanna fire him cause they woulda looked like jerks and that woulda been terrible PR even though that headband shit was sickening. U cant blame Paxson for trying to get young athletic interior players, the only problem is he’s gettin rid of them before they fully develop and well that elton brand thing… we’ll give him a mulligan. The only better draft pick than Noah would have been Horford who was already taken so u cant crucify the man for wantin energy and effort. The only thing that was ludacris in my eyes was the ben wallace signing, FAR too much money for a dude who cant hit the ocean from a boat

  11. GEE ...Can the NBA have a 4 point line? says:

Aight yea you can’t just go on ripping a team to shreds, specially every player.

As far as Noah, I wouldn’t call dude a waisted pick. Now I wouldn’t have taken him myself. To me he just got a lot of press coming out of FLA. but if you look at his potential in regards to style of play and how he works in an NBA scheme I think he got to much hype out of college. He can dunk the shi..out of a ball and really gets after it and trys hard, but that is about all I can say. He is a hustle guy, a roll player and I don’t see him going beyond where he is at right now really. I wouldn’t say he is a waisted pic cause every team needs hustle guys that run the floor, and crash boards and all. Yet you can find a lot of hustle guys, it’s start power all around or in certain areas that’s rare. I think they thought they was going to get some star power in Noah and just got your slightly above average work horse.

Now this is just GEE, but they (the Bulls) should have been able to tell that he was going to have maturity problems coming off his win at Fla. Was there anyone being more outspoken, outlandish and absured and immature with his comments than Noah?! I mean to be happy and celebrate that is cool but just listening and watching him one should have been able to see, nah this kids got a lot of growing up to do. Now it coming to the surface more.

The Bulls have some great players right now, but 1. They do need to make some trades. 2. They need to establish a better style and system of play for the players they have. 3. Do like the Washinton Wizards and get them young cats right (which they appear to be trying to do).

    I hope they get better.

  12. GEE ...Can the NBA have a 4 point line? says:

    lol start = star

  13. GEE ...I am the 4th Don says:

    Are the post working?

  14. doc says:

they frustrated fans the bulls stink and they from the Chi. We all do it. Ya’ll remind us every chance yall get that Dime offices aint feeling Yao. Or yall want Zeke fired. Im always talking about how Manu is the only Argentine player worth a shit. It’s our opinions.

  15. GEE ...I am the 4th Don says:

Yea the real question is where would Gil go cause you know some teams would want him and would he fit in cause you know he wants his shots?

  16. GEE ...I am the 4th Don says:

Wow that is not suppose to be here lol

  17. hatinonmanu says:

doc, manu ain’t shit noochi is better than manu at least noochi doesn’t sit out a few weeks with a sprung finger on his off hand

  18. Shahab says:

Remember noah is only 27 games into his nba career as mentioned on this article he shuldnt be judged so fast.yao ming is first 2 years wasnt great, now look at him now averaging 30 points per game. the same goes for rudy gay and al jefferson it will take time for noah to develop into a key player, maybe he wasn’t worth 9th pick but he was the best available in that draft that high.I give him 3 years and hes going to be a good contributer.

  19. damn says:

you know what, Noah won back to fucking back college championships… that shit is rare so why the fuck not pick him, to a team that he knew wouldn’t be great but not as bad as this, they went from playoffs last season to THIS?? Of course Noah is gunna be like fuck this and just have an attitude, he is in one of the biggest catastrophies in tha nba rite now. shit, Noah will be good, put him in Portland, or something like that.

  20. damn says:

    to myrie,

noah got suspended one game for cussin out the assisstant coach, then the next day ben wallace and em decided to give him a next day suspension cuz of the disrespecting the coach and for being late a lot. i think wallace needs to shut the fuck up, they lost by like 20 to the hawks, last thing you need to worry about is next mans suspensions, your team is fucking shit and you are a big ass reason why. fuck he disrespected flip all day long, hypocrites.

  21. damn says:

goddamn can we take a look at the tribune’s main page… LMAOOOOOOOO :

Rosenbloom: Bulls so-called coach Jim Boylan benched Joakim Noah for one game. The players decided to bench him for another game. And the coach let it happen. Stupid-O-Meter rating: 10 Your call: Vote.

I am dying., Like what is happening in Chicago, someone please explain to me what the hell happened. I just can’t grasp why the whole fucking city is fightin, arguin, and disagreeing on everything .. every damn thing, instead of trying to make shit work, to make something work… ANYTHING !! AHH GODDAMN THIS SHIT.

  22. damn says:

holy fuck ok last post.. but seriously.. look at this article:

    Who’s In Charge Here?

Boylan wrong letting inmates run Bulls

Bulls so-called coach Jim Boylan benched Joakim Noah for one game for going off on an assistant. Fine. Respect matters. But wait. Boylan’s players held another one of their own meetings, and they decided to bench Noah for another game. And the coach let it happen. And Ben Wallace acted as spokesman.

“Our big thing is regardless of what happened between a coach and a player, it should never get to the point where you don’t respect a grown man,” Wallace said. “You have to always respect that fact.”

Talk of “respect” from one of the many spineless co-conspirators who quit on Scott Skiles? Wallace trying to sound like a bastion of integrity?

    I don’t think so.

gad fuckin damn, “inmates”… “so called coach”.. wtf. i’m done.

  23. damn says:

Boylan obviously has allowed his authority to be placed in a blind trust for the rest of his short tenure here, and Wallace records the double-double of “Biggest Hypocrite” and “Biggest Waste of Money.”
