(Almost) Daily Fantasy

IMAGE DESCRIPTIONMike’s a must-bench this week (Photo. Hill)

Monday. Line up day. Leave your fantasy questions in the comments box and I’ll try and answer as many as possible.

Chris Webber - Kind of shocking that C-Webb is going to end up on G-State. Such a bad fit. This may actually mean that the Warriors will give more points than they already give up. That being said, Webber will have nice fantasy nights once in a while, as does everyone in Nellie’s system. This is bad news for everyone on G-State that isn’t Baron and Monta.

Michael Redd - Redd won’t even go on the road trip this week and is a MUST-BENCH for the week. Charlie Bell (not Royal Ivey) is the guy to pick up.

Pau Gasol - For what it’s worth, I own him and I’m probably going to start him. He’s day to day, already missed a couple of games, and questionable for tonight. I’m going to try and wait it out until the Grizzlies release some sort of news on his status for tonight.

Jason Terry - Honestly, I’ve been trying to tell the Dime office that Terry has actually had an awful fantasy season. After a hot start, Terry is has been very average. Devin Harris is going to miss 2 to 3 weeks and you’re going to see Terry’s numbers sky rocket during that period. A nice lift for Terry owners.

Kyle Lowry - No Mike Conley for the week (most likely). Might Mouse has been cut. That leaves Kyle Lowry to run the show. Need a guard for the week (Devin Harris owners anyone?), Lowry might be your man.

The Suns - 2 games this week. That’s a whole lot of fantasy points off the table. Good news if you’re playing anyone on Phoenix… Bad news if you own them.

Luis Scola - I know Yao isn’t out for long, but I watched some of the Rockets loss to the Jazz and was really impressed with the consistently inconsistent Scola. It’s time to let the kid play more. Houston needs the offense and Chuck Hayes just doesn’t give you any.

Ronnie Brewer(/b> - Seriously, what happened? He’s still getting steals but he dreadfully inconsistent offensively. In the last 10 games, he’s scored in double digits 5 times and single digits 5 times.

What should I do with Jermaine O’Neal? I’m in a head to head matchup league on yahoo and can change my lineup everyday. Just don’t know if I should give up on him and pick up another player. I am fairly strong at the center position with Yao and Dalembert.

  2. The Fantasy Doctor says:

Don’t cut him. I’d be patient. Season is half over. Lots of run left.

  3. alberto says:

Don’t cut Jermaine? Why not Fantasy Doc? he looks like he is set in the center position. I think it depends if O’neal can get him something in return. This is one of the only interesting fantasy questions I have seen on this site.

Hey G, if you give up on J. O’Neal, what are you getting in return and what categories are you lagging in?

After recommending C-Webb for a month now, are you changing tunes? Not surprising since this is one of the worst fantasy blogs around. Nice of you to recommend a replacement for Gasol if he misses more time (oh that’s right you didn’t) and nice of you to give advice to the Rockets (which, of course, is no help to fantasy owners at all), but I’m sure they were just waiting for you to tell them to play Scola more before they made that move.

Marvin Williams is also on a tear of late - it seems the Hawks have realized that he is their best front court player on offense..possibly on the whole team (Jsmoove does it all..but is not the shooter that Marvin is..and lately neither is JJ).

I am also pretty high on Bassy right now. He is starting to show some consistently good play and the rest of his team is also on a roll…which helps the PG.

  6. Stevie B says:

I own Marv Williams and although that guy has been killin’ it lately, he’s not a guy to depend for good fantasy stats. His stats are only good to fill your lineup since he’s mainly a scorer with average stats everywhere. For that matter draftin’ him in the 11th round in 12 guy head-to-head league is quite a steal :)

  7. duecesbaby says:

i have been offered igoudala and parker for chris paul…should i pull the trigger?

  8. holla says:

Brewer struggling because Sloan prefers white players (Korver, Harpring) to black players, regardless of effectiveness

  9. Kobe-08_24 says:

Webber should be solid for GS. His passing and presence will definitely help the half-court game. He’s more offensively polished that any post player the Dubs have now, so I don’t agree that he’s a “bad fit.”

  10. sate says:

holla, you talked to sloan about that, thats the real reason?..not the fact the kyle has been hitting clutch shots, and “…even when his jumper isn’t falling, Korver has been playing like he grew up studying Jerry Sloan’s system. He’s not just getting open beyond the arc, but on cuts through the lane and in every other spot Sloan wants him to get the ball. Someone has been watching their “Scoring Without the Ball” DVDs”…that sounds like he would get some more time..

fantasydoctorsucks - First of all, I was only recomending CWebb if he went to the Lakers. Look back and I think you’ll see that I’m always consistent about the entire Golden State situation and I’ve said that it would be the worst place for Webber. Second of all, thanks for all the positive feedback.

duecesbaby - Tough call. I love CP but that’s a lot to give up. Tempting after last night’s game! If it is a keeper league, I don’t think twice and I pull the trigger.

Holla - Look at the minutes. Brewer is still getting them, he’s just not producing like he was.

  12. duecesbaby says:

thanks a lot doc, and by the way i meant tony parker, if that makes any difference…
