IMAGE DESCRIPTIONWhen will C-Webb suit up for Nellie?

* Multiple sources agree that Chris Webber will be wearing a Warriors uniform before the end of January.

* Ironically, on the same night that Nellie set wheels in motion to bolster the Warriors’ presence on the boards, Andris Biedrins cleaned the glass single-handedly with 11 points and 26 rebounds during a 106-104 win over the Knicks. “Every time I looked up, he was getting a rebound,” said Eddy Curry. “When I saw he had 26, I was like, ‘He got cheated.’ They must didn’t count some tip or something. He had at least 30. It was pretty amazing.” Curry spent the majority of his time watching Biedrins get rebounds - he finished with a whopping total of 4 boards.

* After losing at home to the Cavs 98-95, Phil Jackson was asked what lies ahead with the Lakers’ 9-game road trip. “Doom,” he said grinning. “It’s just doom from here on out.” On the other hand, Kobe wasn’t buying the ominous outlook: “Everybody’s talking about this road trip like we’re going to drop like nine straight,” Bryant said. “It’s ridiculous, you know what I mean? Like it’s Murderers’ Row. I’m not too concerned.”

* Despite looking “sick like a puppy dog” according to the Blazers’ team doctor Tom Reis, Brandon Roy tallied 24 points, 8 of which came in the last 2:47 seconds and shut down Joe Johnson. Johnson toasted Portland for 37 points last week, but was held to 9-24 shooting and 19 points last night. “That defensive hold he had on Joe was as beautiful a thing as I have seen,” McMillan said. “Just watching it from behind . . . it was beautiful to see. Joe couldn’t go anywhere.” After the game, Roy admitted, “(My fiancee) is driving home tonight. I’m beat.”

* Nate McMillan threw his hands towards the sky as the Blazers rallied from 19 points back to slide past the Hawks 94-93 at the Rose Garden. “It was shock. Relief. How did we do it? Where did it come from?” McMillan said of his display. “It was just unbelievable. An unbelievable performance.”

* Tied 101-101 with 6.1 seconds to play, Kevin Martin dribbled toward the corner and stuck a 14-footer as time expired to send the Kings’ bench into fits. “With one second to go, you really only have a couple of choices,” said Reggie Theus. “The catch-and-shoot or go for the lob. We had to run that play. I know it wasn’t in their scouting report. Kevin just made a phenomenal, athletic play.”

* In the fourth quarter, Dirk (32 points) outscored the most unlikely Nugget, Anthony Carter, 16-14 and pushed Dallas ahead for a 90-85 win. AI added 23 points, but was 7-17 from the field to go 21-59 over a three-game stretch. “I’m off my rhythm right now,” said Iverson, who has been bothered by a sore left wrist. “I think I got to go back to Virginia again and try to find my game.”

* After abusing the Suns for 39 points and 15 boards, Al Jefferson went haywire on the Nets last night for a career-best 40 points and 19 rebounds in a 98-95 win. “It’s amazing to see that he’s able to play like this consecutively and without any hesitation,” Rashad McCants said. “I think that’s the one thing about Al that the league doesn’t know - he’s going to do it every night.” Vince Carter had a chance at a three to tie the game with the clock winding down, but he only drew iron. It’s the worst kind of loss,” Josh Boone said. “It was a game we had, up seven with 1:19 to go.”

* Caron Butler’s career-high 40-point night led the Wiz back from an 11-point deficit with 1:40 remaining to take the Bucks to an extra period. “I came back to the bench with a minute forty left and said, I’m taking these guys out of here,” said Eddie Jordan. “But then I said, ‘No, let me leave them in there and see if they can pull something out,’ and they did. They brought us back.”

* But it wasn’t enough as Royal Ivey and Mo Williams knocked down big shots in OT to propel Milwaukee to a 105-102 win. “It’s a team sport,” Ivey said. “This isn’t table tennis or golf. Everybody affects the game. All five players on the court affect the game. We pulled together in overtime and got the best of it. [Mo] stepped up and hit two big threes.”

* James Posey said it best: “We had tickets, but we didn’t have ‘Tickets,’ ” referring to Kevin Garnett, a.k.a. ‘The Big Ticket’ who was sidelined with an abdominal strain for the Celtics’ 96-93 loss to Orlando.

* Hedo Turkoglu, who has scored 274 of his 887 points this season in the 4th quarter (31%), sunk a 24-footer over an outstretched Paul Pierce for the win. “I didn’t know what he was doing,” said Stan Van Gundy. “We were kidding him afterward — I was half-kidding — that the three bad shots he took prior to that helped him gauge the distance.”

At the start of the second half, Eddy Curry watched Biedrins get like 5 rebounds right over his head!! I blame Isiah for Biedrins 26 boards because he refused to pull Curry even when he didn’t box out!!

  2. Myrie says:

Shame on Eddy Curry for letting a skinny twig like Andris Biedrins outmuscle him for boards. Shame. That is not on the coach. Eddy gotta man up and find some desire. Curry just plain ole sucks!

Chris Webber and Don Nelson together again? Haven’t we seen this before? Gee…..I wonder what will happen this time around.

Phil Jackson just got into the Hall and is making $12million to give the boss’ daughter some pipe…..I doubt he’s worried about a road trip.

Reggie Theus is quickly becoming the runner-up for COY.

New Jersey Nets suck horribly. This bunch is not motivated and they let Al Jefferson abuse their whole frontline. Jefferson is good, but c’mon…40pts, 19rebs?!!?

  3. dagwaller says:

Myrie, Biedrins averages almost 10 boards a game. Not that he should’ve gone out and gotten 26, but it’s not like it’s so surprising. Now, if Curry had put 26 on Biedrins, you would’ve had a reason to bust on Biedrins.

Good call on the Nets, though. 4 assists for Kidd last night? Nice.

  4. Myrie says:

    Dagwaller–

I wasn’t surprised at Biedrins rebound total. Not at all.

If Curry totals 26 more for the rest of the season, then I will be surprised!

  5. doc says:

I aint puttin Theus over Scott or Nate.

  6. THEY ARE WHO THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE! says:

    TMAC IS F/WEAK….ALWAYS HURT….

VINCE CARTER IS F/WEAK….HIS KNEES ARE GONE…

    LEBRON
    ALJEFFERSON
    CARONBUTLER

  7. THEY ARE WHO THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE! says:

OH AND CWEBB…IS NOT GOING TO HELP THE WARRIORS, HE CAN’T MOVE, IS NOT KNOWN FOR BEING IN SHAPE OR PRACTICING

I predict that if the deal go’s down he won’t be affect…why do you think the lakers wanted him to sign a 10day contract, instead of just signing him….you can’t go by his past, what can he do today? Same reason the pistons have not signed him….

    HOW yOu DOING?

  8. Gee...I am so ready to leave work says:

Myrie… are you asking me that in post 2 lol just kidding.

Seriously though, that whole C-Webb thing seems as if it will not work out.

Does Don know something we don’t? Yea I doubt it too? Still I have to think if they are willing to bring him on then they possibly may know something.

I mean perhaps he can work in a half-court set. Seeing as they don’t run that a lot, when they counter teams that do who dictate the pace, it will probably be good to have him in.
