(Almost) Daily Fantasy
As always, leave questions, comments and concerns in the box and the Doc will get back to you.
Charlie Bell - I told you my man Bell might be back. That’s too straight strong games in a row. He’s now exactly 2 games away from his last goose egg. Seriously, consider picking him up.
Jameericle Nelson – Clearly, Jameer is playing better. He got 32 minutes of burn last night, controlled the floor and dished out 7 assists. That’s two games in a row Nelson’s played 30-plus minutes as well 3 out of the last 4. His offensive confidence is still a little hurting, though; he only took 4 shots.
Darko Milicic - My man Darko is kind of back. I guarantee he ends this season averaging over 2.2 blocks per game. Last night he had 4 blocks and added 12 points and 11 boards.
Mike Bibby – If you’ve held onto Mike Bibby for this long, congrats. Bibby should be back any day. Expect nice scoring numbers and some threes, but I wouldn’t expect stellar assist numbers until he gets traded to a squad who has some finishers. My man Beno’s value is going to take a hit, although we still expect the Kings to find a way to get him 25 minutes per.
Dwyane Wade – If you can deal him for strong value, do it. The Miami situation is going to get worse before it gets better and we can see Wade shutting it down at some point.
Antonio Daniels – This kind of killed me last night. Daniels almost got goose-egged in 23 minutes (2 points).

hey doc
i have d-wade along with j johnson, mo will, tinsley, gay and bibby. i’m thinking about taking your advice and shuffling for some size if i can get it. My bigs are Amare, Haywood, S Williams and Brand. i have a slew of sf’s (r-jeff, carmelo, granger). What PF/C do you think would be good value to go for? Boozer, Al Jeff, D-Howard, Yao, Camby?
Wade is great to have but i gotta say the to’s kill me especially since i have tinsley and carmelo.
thx

Pick up TJ, I did. I’ll bet money he’ll be back any game now, and the raptors really need his penetration right now. You can thank me later.

Re-post from last time:
Doc, I told you last week about my trade for Amare in which I gave up Deron Williams. I still have Mo Williams and Calderon, but will probably need more assists to stay in/near second in that category.
Problem is, I am low in the standings and need help in just about every category – esp. 3s, steals, and boards.
Should I drop Kyle Korver for Conley, McCants, or Arroyo? or should I hold onto Korver? I don’t know if he’ll get enough tick in Utah to make it worthwhile.
I should probably note that I also have Rudy Gay and Pau Gasol on my team. Is that too many Grizzlies on one team if I pick up Conley? I like his across-the-board (besides %) production a lot.

hey all -
this is a follow-up to my earlier post..need serious trade help!!!!!!
i’m in talks with another team in my h2h league: i offered r-jeff for bynum. he was interested but wanted me to throw someone else in to do a 2 for 2.
my team: d-wade, j johnson, mo williams, carmelo, granger, r-jeff, amare, haywood, s williams (nj), gay, tinsley, bibby, brand.
his team: monta, louis williams, mccants, redd, antoine walker, reg evans, bogut, chandler, bynum, camby, kev martin, jeff green, arenas
i need fg%, 3s, rebs, blks, and reduced to’s (some will come with return of bibby and perhaps brand)
which trade idea do you like best for me for the stretch run:
r-jeff and (s will or haywood) for bynum and (ellis or kev martin or louis williams) (may be tough to get k mart but you never know…)
OR
d-wade and (s-will or haywood) for (bynum or camby) and redd
the second trade involving d-wade being more of a blockbuster but i’d get back lots of 3′s from redd, the blks/rebs i need from bynum or camby, good % from both and lower to’s.
what do you think??
January 10th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Malik says:
Lomo…
I would do the D Wade and S Will for Bynum and Redd.. See if u can get a 3rd player (perhaps a role player like Reg Evans b/c he gives u boards).. But thats what I would do. D Wade is a beast, but the Heat suck and I read somewhere (might be from here) that the Heat might shut D Wade down @ somepoint during the season…
January 10th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
Lomo says:
thx malik.
d-wade has me a bit worried since the heat are that bad. if he gets shut down, slowed down or anything like that i’m screwed! i’m leaning towards dealing him. i need a big man since no timeframe on brand’s return.
January 11th, 2008 at 7:09 am
Malik says:
Yeah Lomo,
I wanna pick up Brand myself but he told the papers that theres no timetable for his return…
January 11th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Lomo says:
malik
i know the info on brand is weak. early reports said he was working out in the gym and keeping himself fit and strong and anxious to return and going through the pain of active rehab on it, he realizes how hard it is and has a ways to go… they haven’t said anything about the injury specifically yet.
in leagues where i’ve gotten off to a hot start, i’ve decided to hold onto him as long as i’m in good position for playoffs and can manage without the extra guy. if it doesn’t work out, i’ll just drop him and get some production from that spot.
January 11th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Malik says:
Lomo… This is my team.. Who would u drop in exchange to pick up Brand? Im in 2nd place behind 2 games and the rest of the league is like 12 games in back of us.
Mike Miller
AK
Darko
Andre Miller
Josh Howard
Dirk
Steph
Gerald Wallace
Al Harrington
Bogut
Sam Cassell
Josh Smith

Brendan Haywood

TJ Ford

Lomo says:
malik…you have a good squad. i think you’re light at pg…we’ll see what happens with ford’s return. in the meantime you have miller, steph and cassell. as far as big men, darko, bogut, baby al, haywood, and nene are a strong bunch. brand would clearly be a good addition if and when he returns.
i think i would drop cassell. sam i am will always have the ability on any night to put up numbers but the inconsistency due to his injuries makes him unreliable. next in line would be nene. he too is battling for minutes coming off his injury. with camby and kmart in the mix, not sure he is really needed to put up big numbers.
i don’t think you want more than 2 injured guys taking up your bench. hold ford. as long as you’re in 2nd and maintaining a lead why not take a chance and grab brand for cassell or nene?
good luck!
i got a trade through – i get bynum and kev martin for r-jeff and haywood. i dangled a d-wade trade but he jumped on this one. i feel pretty good about it.
