(Almost) Daily Fantasy

IMAGE DESCRIPTIONShould you pick up Barnes?

Leave your fantasy hoops questions in the space below and I will do my best to answer all of them…

Ryan Gomes - I drafted Gomes (and cut him pretty quickly). He has real ability and if you remember from last season, there was a while he was an automatic double/double. Obviously last night he was lights out going for a career high 35, but the former Celtic has now scored double digits in every single game but one over the last month. That’s a solid 14 out of his last 15 games. He’s a nice pick up right now.

Linas Kleiza - I already am a big fan of Kleiza’s offensive game. We know he has the ability to light it up. It’s about minutes and consistency and because Kleiza isn’t really a 4, the off guard and small forward playing time has been hard to come by. If Carmelo is going to miss significant time with the rolled ankle, Klieza is a must play. He should be picked up in all leagues as insurance.

Matt Barnes - I’ve told you all about my love for Matt Barnes before, right? Seriously all the kid needs is real minutes and he’ll put up numbers. He’s played 30 plus in the last three games he has suited up for and put up legit fantasy numbers in each. The problem? Nellie. Before this stretch he had played 30 plus once in the last month. You just never know with Nellie. I’d probably take a pass for now, though if you do that, someone else will probably grab him.

Kareem Rush - I’m so far from being a Kareem Rush believer it isn’t even funny. I know he dropped 25 last night. I know he had 5 threes. I know he’s played well lately and I know Jim O’Brien has a history of getting nice stats out of three point shooters. But this is Kareem Rush. He’s been cut about as many times as he has been signed. Maybe if you’re desperate for threes he’s worth the flier, but I would keep expectations very low.

Hi doc, I’m first in a 20 tams h2h league. I was offered Bynum for Outlaw. Should I accept?
    Thanks a lot.

  2. The Fantasy Doctor says:

if you can afford to wait it out, you’d rather have Bynum than Outlaw.

  3. AY says:

i cut shaq; i can’t stand him anymore. He has very little upside and is always hurt, and is hurt again. should i get blount or someone else?

  4. Dummy says:

Doctor, is Blount worth a pickup now that Shaq is out for 2 weeks. If so, who would you drop out of Wally, Krstic, Barnes, Jaric, Walton, or A. Parker. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

  5. WuMan says:

    Hi Doc,
Welcome back. Question, I got proposed Lamar Odom for my Artest. Yahoo Std 9-cat H2H league. What do you think?

How about D-Wade + Artest for LeBron + R Wallace? Which side would you take?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

  6. The Fantasy Doctor says:

    Dummy, you can cut Wally.

Wuman, the Artest/Odom is sort of a wash. Both players are injury prone. Artest does more right now. The thing about the Wade deal is that I don’t hate moving him while right now. There is a serious chance he shuts it down at some point.

  7. NESTLE CHOC... says:

    Whats up Doc,
What do you think is the best SF i could trade for with Bibby, Okur, or a combo of both. Thanks

  8. Stevie B says:

Doc I was offered Josh Smith, Dalembert, and Bynum for Duncan, Parker, and R.Jeff….should I take it?

  9. The Jed says:

Nestle Choc, Bibby AND Okur is a nice package. Especially with Bibby back and playing well. Does it get you Caron Butler? Probably not. Josh Howard? Worth a shot. More likely you’re talking second tier though (Lamar Odomish).

Stevie, No chance. Do not take that deal.

  10. MSkittle says:

I have the most injury-prone team in the world. I have Jermaine O’Neal, Shaq, T Mac, and Kenyon Martin. Kenyon was out last week with a butt injury. I repeat, a butt injury!

Anyways Doc, what are your thoughts on these injured ballers? How do you like Bobby Simmons now that Desmond Mason is out for a while?

  11. Hoops Head says:

I am in a keeper league and have been offered

    Paul and Wade
    for
    Joe Johnson and Matrix

I am sitting 4th and moving up
    do I pull the trigger?

  12. dueceduece says:

hey doc, i desperate for boards and blocks and joakim noah is sitting on the waiver wire…i know he had a good game last night, do you think he would be a reliable pickup?

  13. dueceduece says:

oh yeah one more thing, i’ve got ronnie brewer, boris diaw, and beno udih, is it still worth keeping those guys around? thanks for the help.

  14. sonicsaint says:

MSkittle - JO and Shaq are just about finished for the season, K-Mart looks okay now but will be inconsistent, and T-Mac’s T-Mac, high risk-high reward.

Hoops Head - tough call.. that’s a good trade for you in the long run. However you have to put into consideration the fact that DWade will probably be shut down this season, possibly very soon if he aggravates another injury.

dueceduece - udrih and diaw are pretty much worthless now, brewer is declining in value

  15. Hoops Head says:

Marion for Paul straight up in a keeper league?
