Become Legendary
Gift from G.O.A.T.Every year, the release of the newest Air Jordan is a huge deal not just in the industry, but to most anyone who’s into basketball and/or sneakers. The AJ XX3 is set to hit stores in February, but some of the Dime crew got a sneak peek at it a few months ago, and today Jordan Brand unveiled its new campaign tagline in conjunction with the new Jordan kicks: BECOME LEGENDARY
Be on the lookout this month for upcoming Jordan Brand ads with the “Become Legendary” tagline featuring Carmelo, Ray Allen, Chris Paul, Derek Jeter, T.O., and of course Mike himself. You can also check out the online campaign at Jumpman23.com. For a closer look at the Jordan XX3 you can check out the photo below.

A very nice shoe.
It is worthy of the special status as #23 in the Air Jordan line.
Great pic.
One thing that stands out to me is how small the shoe looks in MJ’s hands. I read somewhere that his hands are something like 10 inches from base of palm to top of middle finger. Freakishly big – hence the freakish ball control.

shoe definitely has potential. i’m not feeling the stitch pattern in the middle (that looks like a bunch of X’s), but as with all Jordans, they have a tendency to grow on you.

Ok that picture is a tight one. That earring is corny though lol…but that is just Gee.
DIME have you all heard the price!!! Ok I know to some this is nothing and I respect that and I am not even in to shoes like that for real so take that into consideration.
Now I know that these are special shoes considering the number and all but last I heard was the early release for some that will be limited editions or like 230 and no that aint two dollars and thirty cent. Try dollas. Then I heard when they are released nationally they will be like 185.
So now it’s like do I buy gas (which is high too lol) and wear some Buster Browns or do I get these Jordans and bum rides and walk everywhere but my footwork is Dougie (Fresh).
LOL you decide???

you know what would be better than jordan selling a $230 shoe? giving 23 computers to 23 highschools in each state an nba team is in. being worth $408 (or so) million doesn’t mean make more shoes (which are made in sweat shops in china which then sell arms to africa to continue genocide).
that would be a better ‘legendary’ thing to do . . . but whatever, call me a hater.

That’s one way to be legendary.
Another is to make an amazing shoe.
You’re right, of course.
But, people can be legendary for different reasons.

Name another athlete that can sell a sports shoe wearing a single breasted hand crafted Italian suit and YOU DON’T REALLY NOTICE HE’S WEARING IT. Jordan’s legend is fantastic and he has the jewellrey and chips to back up that legend, but it’s his ability (along with Phil Knight) to teach everyone a lesson in Marketing 101 that sets him apart from his contemporaries. His image and marketing flair just set him apart.
I think the shoe looks like shit honestly, kind of a hybrid of the 11’s on the nose of the sneaker and perhaps the 8’s with the middle part (perhaps?) but that won’t stop me from picking up a pair. They are always a good value boot.

It’s hard to really see any new Jordan shoe living up to all the hype that surrounds it. I’m not really into these, but maybe the additional colorways will look better. I’m particularly interested in seeing the Carolina blues.
