Over the weekend, Nate Robinson had one of the filthiest follow-up dunks we’ve ever seen:
We immediately thought of this A.I. clip from his rookie year when we saw it. It’s without a doubt one of our favorite dunks of all-time…
If Nate wasn’t such a knucklehead the last time he was in the dunk contest, we’d love to see him back in…

Bxballer says:
Nate said that he could do that more often, but Isiah told him not to because he wants the guards to get deep foul-line extended rebounds. Anyways, both were SICK!

Top Gun says:
That dunk wasn’t in his rookie season. It was a long time ago, but not the rookie season, trust me.

JDish says:
How tall are these guys again? It’s amazing to see Iverson sky over two-three other guys to cram the way he did. A.I. even beat his own teammate to get that dunk. Outstanding hops.
Nate has an amazing jump also, but I agree with the comment about if he wasn’t such a knucklehead (not only in the dunk contest) he would get more attention and fan appreciation.

That Nate put-back slam was MEAN!
He caught a dunk on a fast break in Miami during his rook season too.
Iverson was legit, but dude stop dunking too early in his career.

The AI dunk is the craziest putback and tops Nate’s easily!!

djKianoosh says:
yeah, that couldn’t have been AI’s rookie year, cause Snow and Geiger were in there taking up space.. just kidding!.. but anyway that looks more like ‘98 or ‘99.

djKianoosh says:
and what makes AI’s version better is that he’s got what seems to be way more hang time and to finish it off he ends up putting his crotch on someone’s mug. you just can’t script that..

DJ Ho says:
he also blocked the tallest guy in the NBA Yao Ming!
that guy must have pogo sticks for legs.

sxrs says:
not even close.
AI dunked it on Camby’s HEAD, Robinson was all alone.
and wtf was the yelling for? Didnt even see AI open his mouth.
January 22nd, 2008 at 12:42 pm
GEE ...First the Dolphins now the Heat?!?! says:
Sxrs you got to yell just on gp for something like that. Just to be that height and do that. I would still be yelling. A.I. may not have yelled but trust me he has done things of the equivalent.
Both were nasty.
Nate is certainly making it where he is staying in the L. I was worried about him at one point cause you have to do more than dunk…Darvin Ham.
Nate has and is doing well in playing smarter. I am glad he took that opportunity to show and serve notice, that could have easily been on someone.

Eric says:
The putback was from 1998. First year of the new jerseys for the sixers. Remember, in AI’s rookie year they had the red and blue jerseys.
Amazing that he and Camby are teammates now. I wonder if he brings it up.

Eric says:
AND Tim Thomas is in the picture, who was drafted #7 in 1997. I believe that game was near the end of the 97-98 season.

I wonder about that too Eric.
That’s gotta be a little akward.

That Nate dunk was only ok, one of your all-time faves? Give me a break. But that AI dunk was TRUE nasty.

That AI dunk was the last game of the year. Me and Aaron Mckie nephew grew up together and I used to spend the night over Aaron condo downtown with him when we were younger. We was watching that shit in his crib before we went to the kiddie club of that time in his Benz. We was some crazy little fuckers.
