Saturday’s “Chinese Super Bowl” was pretty underwhelming (not that we were expecting anything spectacular).
Anything more closely resembling this would have been so much better….

And why would it have been better? Because it would have vindicated Nike’s vision of a global basketball brotherhood based on… *gasp* the genetic superiority of black muscle? Yes, let’s undercut the sordid pretense behind this business once and for all, and reaffirm what we have in our hearts of hearts always believed: basketball belongs to the ghetto, where Africans belong. But perhaps the white dudes at Dime are confused by the uncanny sophistication of Nike’s racial discourse, and need some time to come to terms with their own cultural disorientation. Whatever.
