Stay for the Fourth

IMAGE DESCRIPTIONRay Allen (Photo. Jordan Brand)

There’s really no point in watching a Spurs game until the fourth quarter, is there? No matter how bad Tim Duncan and Co. might have played in the first 36 minutes, those last 12 is when they’ll hit that “Champions” switch and either win or fall just short. Yesterday in Boston they fell short. Paul Pierce (35 pts, 5 threes) seemed to answer every San Antonio threat with a bucket of his own, and the C’s were getting all the bounces to fall in their favor: the Spurs had shots going halfway through the rim before popping out, were giving up offensive rebounds on free throws, and even Manu’s best acting job couldn’t draw the fouls they needed … Playing without Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins, and with Leon Powe in foul trouble, Boston had to put Big Baby on Duncan. Big Fundamental put up 22 points, 14 boards and 6 dimes. Of course he scored some buckets simply due to his size advantage and the fact that he’s reallyreallyreally good, but overall Big Baby was great. He rarely made a defensive mistake and his form was textbook. He made it about as tough on Duncan as someone with Davis’ size and athletic ability possibly could, which was all Doc Rivers could have asked. Don’t believe Bill Walton’s hype that Big Baby out-played Duncan, but the kid did his job … Garnett, if you haven’t heard already, is officially out of the All-Star Game and Rasheed Wallace is in. Are Celtics fans gonna be mad now that Detroit has three All-Stars and they only have one? … Jeff Van Gundy, who’s quickly become one of our favorite NBA color analysts, was talking about free-throw routines and said that Alonzo Mourning used to give the ball a “full-body massage” before shooting … Great Jason Kidd-ish game from Rajon Rondo: 5 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists, 1 turnover. Rondo had some of Boston’s bigger rebounds in crunch time … We were wondering if Shawn Marion would do something (money, bullying) to get #31 from Ricky Davis, but Matrix went with Penny’s old #7 in his first game with Miami. It’ll take a while for us to get used to Marion in Heat colors. It just doesn’t look natural on him … The Heat did have a little more energy against the Lakers, they just didn’t have the depth. Kobe put up 33 points, Lamar Odom had 15 points, 18 boards and 6 assists, and Pau Gasol had 12 points and 7 boards. Marion went for 15 points, 14 boards, 3 steals and 3 blocks, while D-Wade scored 19 with 9 dimes and 4 steals … Amare was a beast against Washington in the first half, almost registering a 20-10 line before the break. On one play Amare swatted Andray Blatche under the rim, and when Blatche got the ball back, he and Amare stood there staring at each other for a sec, like Andray was giving him eyebrow-fakes and waiting for STAT to bite. When Blatche finally went back up, Amare rejected him again … Stoudemire ended up with 31 points, 13 boards and 4 blocks, and he made the game-clinching free throws in the final seconds … For the second time this year we watched the Nuggets crack the Cavs, and even though you could make the excuse that Cleveland didn’t have Daniel Gibson, Drew Gooden, Anderson Varejao and Sasha Pavlovic, Denver is just a bad matchup for LeBron’s squad. A.I. (25 pts, 13 asts) is too fast, ‘Melo (27 pts) is too versatile, Camby (17 rebs) is too much, and the bench is too deep … Play of the game: Big Z tried to hit Ira Newble with a cross-paint pass which Camby got a hand on. The ball shot straight up in the air after the deflection, where it just floated until LeBron (30 pts) came out of nowhere and dunked it in one motion. No assist was credited to Ilgauskas … There were actually a number of exciting plays in this game, but you’d barely know it because the announcers were a little too low-key. This game needed a Kevin Harlan/Reggie Miller type combo on the mic … For whatever reason, we couldn’t take our eyes off the fat guy sitting courtside who had a black eye and a Cheez-It shirt on … The Pistons crushed the Bobcats at home, but who didn’t see that one coming? Especially when the ‘Cats didn’t have Gerald Wallace on the floor. Nazr Mohammed had 10 points and 8 boards against his old ballclub, while Walter Herrmann and Primoz Brezec only got off the bench for a handful of minutes apiece … The one real upset of the day was the Nets defending their gym and taking out the Mavs. Is Avery Johnson trying to prove something after he took the criticism for altering his lineup in the Golden State series last spring? With Devin Harris injured, Avery is starting J.J. Barea at point and still bringing Jason Terry off the bench. Avery, no one’s gonna say you don’t stick to your guns if you break protocol give Jet the start. Dallas’ starting backcourt of Barea and Eddie Jones combined for 2 points and 1 assist in Jersey, while Vince Carter dropped 29 on their back-neck and J-Kidd posted 13 points and 14 dimes … Is the best PG tandem in the League officially back? Jose Calderon and T.J. Ford combined for 22 points, 23 assists and just 3 turnovers in a win over the Wolves. Calderon (15 pts) didn’t miss a shot, either, perfect from the field and at the stripe … Arizona lost at home to rival Arizona State, but AZ frosh Jerryd Bayless scored 39 of the team’s 54 points. And it’s not like he was just jacking, either; “Pay Up” hit on 12-for-18 from the field, 6-for-10 from deep and 9-for-9 at the stripe. Bayless doesn’t get as much attention as some of the other freshman guards in the country, but he’s right up there with them in terms of talent … Did you catch the Grammy Awards? Kanye West’s set was amazing. Very Funkadelic-ish, followed by a powerful tribute to his Mom … We’re out like KG in N.O. …

It’s official. Spurs are in trouble. I heard some stuff on espn that Pop was whinin bout my Lakers fleecin the griz. straight comedy. I been sayin all season, all the international ball and deep playoff runs have caught up. Never heard Pop bitch about another team’s situation. Lovin it. Don’t be scurrrred, Pop, but Bynum’s comin back too.
Props to Odom for showin why we don’t need JKidd, did everything Marion used to do for Phoenix; this team is Fort Knox paper right now. Best player in the game with a stupid talented supporting cast.
LOL @ Shaq droppin the bomb on bill walton. Check the resume, billy

  3. miamiVIS3 says:

Marion had a good debut i’m looking forward too watching him play and i hope he doesnt bolt after this year. Also go spurs! :) lol

  4. kobeef says:

The Nets will keep Kidd + Carter. They are quickly closing-in on a .500 record and could end the season as the 5th seed. They could still use some front court talent….Jermaine O’Neal for Jefferson.

Last night was a night for NBA scouts to remember - in a bad way. Kevin ove got shut down by Artem Wallace (who? exactly..). Love is Nick Collison at best.

The Heat fake-smiled when Marion announced over the weekend that he is there for the long haul. His $17 million salary would have looked really good coming off the books next season (when he was supposed to opt-out).

  5. ian says:

no garnett no parker no barry
    still good game

    walton sucks

  6. Tux says:

MWAHAHAH. Eyebrow fakes? Damn. Had me in stitches.

  7. Vignesh says:

Carter got knocked the f**k out by bass’s elbow.. but he came back strong big time.. woot!!.. i just hope krystic is healthy..cos only then can they do serious damage in playoffs.. otherwise just another 2nd round exit..they shld finish 5th so that they face magic … celtics pistons can end nets season

  8. ian says:

    k-dizzle
why dont the lakers get at least out of the first round before u start talking about the spurs being done
and love the way u lakers fan think bynum is going to destroy timmy in the playoffs

  9. Vignesh says:

WTF.. Sheed gets the nod when VC was the 4th leading vote getter in east (after kg, wade & kidd) ..just great… 3 ppl from PISStons

  10. Smitty313 says:

Lakers will get out of the first round. They dominated the Suns 2 out of the 3 times they played. Amare can’t stop any good big man in the league. Bynum needs to come back so he can adjust to Gasol. But Kobe he’s taking less shots but putting up the same numbers, more assist. The game looks real easy right now. The Spurs are done. I never seen them look this old. They do play better after allstar break.

  11. Smitty313 says:

Bynum dosen’t have to destroy Duncan. He just has to play efficient. Duncan is going to gaurd Bynum, whose going to gaurd Gasol. Manu can’t gaurd Odom. Kobe almost always kills Bruce. But Tony Parker will prbably destroy who ever they put on him. But we still have to see how this plays out. Go on a 5 game losing streak in the west and your ass is done. I want to see Shaq and Kobe in the Western Conference Finals. Then Kobe against Lebron in the Finals. Or Melo against Lebron. We don’t need any Piston, Spurs finals anymore. We need big time star power like Magic against Bird. Jordan against Drexler or Barkley.

  12. GEE...You betta give it up smoove?!?! says:

Someone needs to elbow Vince in the head more often if he comes back playing like that. He finally showed a lil’ something.

I think Shawn’s numbers are going to go down some with the Heat. I hope I am wrong though.

I wonder if the coach is going to give all three of dem Pistons burn at the same time in the All-Star game.

As much as one might want Denver to do well, I feel like an injury could occur with that team in the next minute or so. They get injured so much. If they do make a trade for Ron Artest (which they should do) they prolly will do well come playoff time. If they don’t, I honestly wonder if they will make the playoffs. Between them having injuries and their coach …it’s not a good look.

Houston on the low has the biggest winning streak going on in the west right now. They have come up on about 2 to 3 teams in trying to get that last playoff spot before the All-Star break. Ut-oh!

Who was the biggest snub for the Dunk contest? I am going to have to go with Max-ill from the D.

Big Baby will serve Boston well come playoff time.

Trades, Trades and mo trades…I wonder what will go down this week?!?!

  13. djKianoosh says:

the spurs are in trouble? keep dreaming. Yesterday I didn’t see a guy we like to call “the Finals MVP” on the court for the Spurs. but i guess he wouldn’t make much of a difference. there’s just no convincing over blind faith.

and I’m still waiting for Denver to have a solid defensive showing. they are going to talk and say they played great D, but that Cavs team was missing 4 of it’s main rotation guys. so you have to dismiss this as a game they should have won regardless. I’d like to see a good defensive win against the likes of LA, SA, PHX, DAL, etc. That would make me a true believer in their chances at a title.

how scared is the NBA of another Spurs-Pistons final? yet that matchup is quite possible. dont front, you know both those teams will reach their conference finals.

  14. Celts Fan says:

Sheed replaced KG because you replace a big with a big , and by the way, just because Wince got the 4th most votes, doesn’t mean he was the 4th most deserving (he clearly wasn’t.) Dude is soft as a grape despite last night and on a terrible team. That bitch should stay at home and practice the fake limp/wince he does after every missed shot. and you say, “3 people from the PISStons” like they’re having a bad year. Detroit deserves 3 people infinitely more than the Nets deserve 2 (and if you’re going to give the Nets a 2nd guy, it’d be Jefferson, not Weak Juice)

and Dime, the Celtics still have 2 all stars, just only 1 playing. Why all the hate? We don’t give a crap how many All Stars we have. The 2 guys that should’ve made the team, made the team. There’s nothing you can do about injuries…

  15. T.M.P.B.W.O.T.P. says:

I would’ve given the spot to Hedo Turkoglu (a forward) to replace Garnett (a forward). And Celts Fan, the “hate” comes from the fact that we all know Boston fans have been known to whine about a thing or three even when their teams are doing well.

  16. K-Dizzle says:

Tony Parker didn’t play? You notice #5 in green and white wasn’t there either? It ain’t like Rajon’s steve nash. Parker’s gonna work for his against Rondo if they meet again cuz he’ll guard you.Be happy you got Mighty Mouse instead of havin to rely on Vaughn. Be worried that Glen Davis was guardin TD like a defensive stud, makin Tim earn his. Be worried that Paul Pierce went off for 35 and I didn’t hear Bowen or Udoka’s names once. When was the last time anyone heard Pop cryin about another team’s trades? Nobody cries when free agents (Fin, Damon) get bought out and jump on the SAS bandwagon, tryin to grab Tim’s cape and maybe get a ring, but my Lakers steal Gasol and now pop’s got a problem? I’m not too worried about LA gettin out of the 1st round, we got bigger goals this year, please believe
one more thing, I completely agree with Celts about the all-star replacement - if not sheed, then even big z, j-smoove, turkoglu, calderon. There’s a whole mess o dudes who deserve to go before we even come around to Wince

  17. myrie says:

Why are new jersey nets games still being televised?

NBA TV might go crazy again next week with all the retro allstar games. Remember when they did that last year at this time?

  18. lil' mase says:

Big Baby reminds me of Anthony Mason. big, clumsy, could kinda dribble a lil’ crazy…..
…and if you’ve seen Anthony Mason, I’m one of his 64 kids that is lookin’ for him

  19. donners says:

well said celts fan. well said. there’s no way nets should have two allstars

  20. Celts Fan says:

lil’ mase, Big Baby has great body control and isn’t clumsy. He’s big so he’s not exactly jumping out of the gym, but watch him with the ball. He’s much more coordinated than you’re giving him credit for. Now let’s hope he can stay off the Anthony Mason diet of Big Macs and little girls…

  21. T.M.P.B.W.O.T.P. says:

Why is it so crazy that Vince (20.7 points, 5.6 boards, 5 dimes a game) would be an All-Star? He’s the #1 option on a team that’s currently a playoff team. NJ has the 8th seed right now.

  22. Celts Fan says:

It’s crazy because there is a list of at least 3 guys that should go ahead of him. Just to name a few:

    Hedo
    Sheed
    Josh Smith
    Michael Redd
    Jose Calderon
    Gerald Wallace

  23. Celts Fan says:

I said 3 then listed 6. Just started writing and there were more than I thought I’d come up with. I’m not dyslexic (or retarded)

needless to say, Vince should be where he will be, at home

  24. T.M.P.B.W.O.T.P. says:

Because the empty spot should go to a forward, obviously Hedo, Josh Smith and Sheed should be up there. But Michael Redd? His team is worse than Vince’s. Same for Gerald Wallace.

If a guard spot opened up, I wouldn’t complain if Vince got it.

  25. Celts Fan says:

Their teams may be worse than Vince’s, but they both have had good years (though I’ll admit, Redd may be a stretch ahead of him) and have to do much more than him (you think either one would be upset to switch and run w/ JKidd and Jefferson?) and I feel like Vince coasts too much, which will always make me put him as low as possible. Sorry, but effort counts…

  26. T.M.P.B.W.O.T.P. says:

The main complaint people seem to have with Vince and the main reason they call him soft is because he supposedly “settles” for jump shots when he could drive more.

So just wondering, does that mean Ray Allen, Michael Redd, Rasheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Martin, Gilbert Arenas and Kevin Durant are also soft? Those guys take a lot of jumpers.

  27. Celts Fan says:

and I know today’s not the best day to say that, but games like last night are what make it so frustrating that he plays like he does. He has INSANE athletic ability and settles for playing Ray Allen’s game way too much. That’s okay when you’re a guy like Michael Redd or Ray Allen that’s not as naturally gifted, but it’s a waste when a guy like Vince plays like that. Man up Sally or expect to be at home for the ASG from here on, cuz even casual fans have realized how soft he is (remember when he was always the top vote-getter? Now he doesn’t even lead his team - and doesn’t deserve to.)

  28. laballer says:

didnt sheed go on record repeatedly saying he doesnt even want to play at the all-star game? i mean why give it to a dude who doesnt even wanna be there? hedo shoulda got this one..

k-dizzle..shut em haters down man..thats what im talkin about..spurs fans..think about it for a sec..why is this one of the first times pop is bitchin? he’s scared..he knows his team has gotten old even when lil parker was in the line up they were mailing in the first half almost every game..the energy isnt there as much as it has been in pervious years..and you’re blaming parker being injured as the only reason they are barely gettin W’s right now? come on..need i remind you the lakers havent had a healthy squad ALL season and are still doin it..ok fine they play better after the all star break..thats great..lets see how it goes after this all star break tho..and in the finals..elso/oberto and timmy against bynum and gasol..hmm i think i like my laker’s chances here..

what did shaq say to bill walton? i missed it..someone tell me..

  29. lil' mase says:

damn Celts fan, “Big Macs and little girls… ”
    funnnnny shit

  30. T.M.P.B.W.O.T.P. says:

@K-Dizzle: You know that if the Mavs or Nuggets or Spurs had fleeced Memphis on a Gasol deal, Phil Jackson (and Lakers fans) would be complaining.

@Celts Fan: You’re saying Ray Allen doesn’t have amazing athletic ability? There are so many players that rely on jump-shooting that could go to the rack more often, but Vince (and Dirk) is the only one who gets a hard time for it. Everyone loves Rasheed, and he’s the main offender.

  31. Alf says:

Slight disagreement with Dime on the Kevin Harlan / Reggie Miller comment. I believe the best duo in the game right now is Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy.

Not saying Kevin & Reggie suck, but Mark & Jeff are simply better. Even you admitted earlier that you are loving Jeff more as an analyst…

  32. T.M.P.B.W.O.T.P. says:

Matter of fact, let’s look at ‘Sheed:

    1. Takes a lot of long jumpers and threes when he could do more damage in the paint.

    2. Even his go-to post move is a fadeaway jumper.

    3. Complains whenever he doesn’t get a foul called in his favor.

    4. Complains whenever a foul is called against him.

    5. After his team fails to bring it and loses in the playoffs, starts saying the NBA is “fixed.”

You know what that sounds like? RASHEED WALLACE IS SOFT.

  33. Celts Fan says:

TMP, none of those guys are soft, because only Kobe really has the athletic ability and skill that Vince does, and Kobe drives fearlessly every game, Vince acts like he’s afraid of breaking a nail. Rasheed should do more on the block, but is their only big that can consistenly hit a long J, so he doesn’t. We’d all like to see him more down low, but it’s not like he’s not down there banging and shit on the defensive end. In a perfect world, he’d be down low more, but nobody’s gonna argue Rasheed is soft.

with Vince, it’s like having a really smart kid that brings home straight B’s on a report card. That’s a nice semester, but if your kid has a 4.0 and typically gets straight As, you know they weren’t doing as much as they could because they have more ability. Vince is that guy. On paper, it’s nice, but once you realize what he can do, the straight Bs (or uninspired 20, 5, and 5 with an all-time great PG) just don’t look as good…

  34. Celts Fan says:

and no TMP, Ray Allen doesn’t have amazing athletic ability (post 30), not even in the same stratosphere as Vince Carter, so if that’s your argument, just stop right now.

and people love Sheed cuz he’s a funny dude that just doesn’t give a damn. He’s tough not to love…

  35. Celts Fan says:

for the record, I’m defining athletic ability as crazy speed and vertical (or basically, the defining attributes that force 2s and 3s to model their game either after a Reggie Miller type or a Michael Jordan type - aka a shooter or the slasher type that can easily dunk in traffic and compete in Dunk Contests)

  36. Bron42 aka global-4A-reason says:

plain and simple, vince doesn’t have the jumper, for all the jumpers he settles for. Ray will always be known for being a shooter instead of a dunker and vince will always be known as a dunker and not a shooter for a reason. hes a streaky shooter who settles for bad shots. Ray allen is a good athlete but do you even remember what he tried to do in the dunk contest in his youth? He was never a ELITE athlete. Vince is still one of the top leapers in the game but settles for fade away 3 pointer when their not needed and makes bad choices at end of games. when you can get to the paint like he does, you should rarely ever settle for a jumper wiht the game on the line. Also RJ has carried the 8th seed nets WAYYY more than vince has. Gerald wallace and josh smith mean more to their teams and deserve allstar looks.

  37. Celts Fan says:

    here here Bron. Well put

  38. ian says:

    celts fan
because vince can do more than the guys u mentioned he shouldnt be in the allstar game
when sheed is a three point shooting pf
    comon
vince can play hard but hes shooting jump shoots and still is having a better season than most the guys u mentioned
your logic is no allstar game cuz he can be better?????? what he is now is good enough

i can think of 3 people that could go ahead of sheed
    but ill name 6

    hedo (first option)
    redd
    wallace
    carter
    calderon
    smith

    laballer
u talk like if the spurs have something to prove like lets wait till the allstar break to see if u can win
u got it twisted its the lakers that have to prove they can get out of the first round u r the one that has to wait and see
the spurs started fallin apart with the injuries 17-3 parker duncan manu go down
and yeah no parker means a lot to the spurs have u seen them play vaughn trying to run the offense they look weird

  39. Celts Fan says:

ya, but Sheed plays great D too ian, and Vince is the 3rd best guy on his own team (which isn’t very good)

  40. doc says:

Sheed got a better record than all of them and Detroit aint get they ring until Sheed came at the deadline. He is the heart and soul of the team to go through to make the chip in the east. See what happened last year when he got frustrated, Chauncey and them gave up. Bottom line Sheed is better than all them dudes and his team will always win as long as he aint old. And Vince is over we dont need to see him in no all star games until he take a trip to see the wizard about some heart.

  41. GEE...You betta give it up smoove?!?! says:

From A - Z you can find fault we all know this. Plus it’s on what you really want to needle in on as far as someone’s game goes.

Vince does have a few a head of him All-Star wise and he does pull up for the J a lot and he can’t seem to get that winning shot to fall when the game is on the line.

Still he is a very credible player. Make no mistake about it. He is not a 6th man, or a roll player, or a scrub. Dude still can play. Also …he is a grown @#$ man. LOL he can take all the jumpers he wants to lol. If you don’t like it or think he is soft then that is on you. Personally if I was as breakable as dude I probably wouldn’t drive to the hole a lot either.

I do think he went from a franchise player to a good #2 type star but he is still Vince.

Streaky or not he is still giving you numbers and good numbers. Who knows the reason he doesn’t drive as much, and who cares as long as he still droppin 20 or so. If anything be more concerned about his bad decision making in close situations.

If you comparing Sheed and Vince, honestly that is a toss up. To me they both bout the same.

LOL if Ray Allen starts dunking all the time are we gone start calling him soft or lol a streaky dunker lol?

I feel like defending Vince today lol so get off him.
Matter of fact for those complaining how bout you list your favorite player so I can rip up his game and explain how he is soft too.

I don’t even like Vince like that for real, but dudes playing him out like he just booty doo or something.

  42. G says:

Im not “upset” about the Sheed selection but I would have liked to see some others:

    Jefferson
    Hedo
    Josh Smith
    Gerald Wallace

The thing is while all those guys are forwards none can really play the big man spot that KG was gonna play (maybe Smith and Wallace). But that being said there are other big men in the East that are putting up better numbers than Sheed (13,7,2 with 1.5 blks and stls per). The problem is they just happen to be doing it on losing teams…

    Zach Randolph (17,10,2)
Okafor (14,11 with almost 2 blks per)

But then again this is the all-star game and who wants to see big men anyways. Woulda loved to be able to see Gerald Wallace or Josh Smith do something filthy in the game.

Question: What would have happened had Marion either been voted into the game or picked by the coaches prior to the game? Does he get a conciliatory spot in the East?

  43. Celts Fan says:

That’s the thing GEE is that we’re not trying to play him, just put him where he belongs, which is about where you have him when you say, “I do think he went from a franchise player to a good #2 type star but he is still Vince.” People were trying to make a case for him as an all star and we just wanted to shoot that down. No one’s saying he’s useless, he’s just not an all star, and since the numbers look aight without context, you need to make the case about other things like heart.

I wouldn’t say he and Sheed are about a toss-up though, Sheed was the missing piece for Detroit’s stretch of title contention and a huge factor in them winning one.

  44. Ian says:

    doc
wasnt it supposed to be ben wallace
    the heart i mean

  45. Celts Fan says:

Ian, you’re confused, Vince needs heart, Wallace needs talent

  46. skurv says:

kanye has no funk. he just stole daft punks song and style. pretty sure no most people dont even realize who daft punk are and what they were doing there with kanye. kanyes a scrub. daft punk have the greatest live show of all time and didnt even honor kanye with appearing in the video. it was body doubles in their robot suits. very well might have been last night. no point in showin respect to a schmuck like kanye

  47. doc says:

skurv this aint mtv.com wrong site. And Ian Sheed was and is the heart. Ben is a hustling ass scrub who Dumars knew he couldnt overrate and let his dum ass go. And 20ppg for Vince Carter aint shit. You looking at it like if u did it that would be great but thats not what matter. He puttin up the same numbers as Iggy and aint nobody talkin about him for no all star berth so why Vince. Old Shit? It’s 2008 not 2001. Picture Kobe or Bron average being 20 5 and 5. The world would be pissed. Vince got that talent, he just has heart disease or somthin.

  48. Celts Fan says:

damn right Doc, see my report card example in the 2nd part of post 33. Exactly what I meant…

  49. Mike C says:

Seriously, the Kobe-for-Defensive Player of the Year talks better start heating up now.. After shutting down Hedo on friday, he absolutely locked down D-Wade again yesterday. I mean I’ve never seen anyone clamp down Wade on single coverage like that. That one possession where he forced him into a walk alongside the 3pt line was like a how-to-video for one on one defense or something..

  50. What is this!? says:

Around this time every year people say “the Spurs are in trouble”…and every year they are right there at the end. They are either in the Western conference Finals are winning the chip. LOL!! When will people give it up. Come playoff time they’ll be fine.

And I agree with the people that are saying let the Lakers get out the first round first, then start talking. Because although they got Pau, there are still weaknesses on that team as well. And the playoffs is a different monstar then the pre season, obviously. People always jumping on and off bandwagons, every week its something different, some team thats the “team to beat”. Smh

the #47 post is real talk. If Kobe, Lebron, D-Wade, Carmelo, AI and other real stars of the game put up 20-5-5, you would swear these dudes were coastin, but peeps wanna say Vince is havin an all-star season. Dude is puttin up Joe Johnson, Josh Howard, Mike Redd, Hedo numbers. The problem is that Vince is 100 times the athlete the rest are and they all yet to hit their peak and therefore get better while Vince has gotta be on his way down cuz some people tryin to justify 20-5-5 from a dude who should be putting up at least 25-28 a game. Why he bring it once a month and then disappears for weeks? You got JKidd, that’s 10 easy points a game

I think it’s pretty obvious that Sheed was and is the heart of the Pistons just based on how Ben been since he left (and got paid, kinda like Vince got his money and now ain’t seem so hungry no more). You never hear about what Sheed’s makin cuz his game don’t change. He just got mature, stopped takin those crazy t’s and now dude’s in the conference finals every year.Ben was lucky to be on that frontline with Tay and Sheed, now look at him. Laughin on the bench as they get whooped by 30 and has to get cussed out by a rookie who ain’t lost this many games in 2 yrs of college.

TMP - your post 32 sounds a lot like Tim Duncan, minus the #1,5.

Mike C - I like Kobe for DPOY but when KG comes back and the way Camby, Marion, and J-Smoove d up, it’ll be tough. I still got bad memories of KB24 being on the wrong side of a Lebron 4th quarter. Either way, he’ll be on the squad………again lol

Attention Spurs fans: the worst thing you can do is assume that because something happens a lot, it will keep happening forever.

    Sincerely yours,
    New England Patriots fans
