The Jason Kidd trade is official.
This time around, there didn’t seem to be much suspense over whether or not the deal would go through. Reportedly Kidd will be in Dallas for a 3 P.M. press conference and Devin Harris is already with the Nets.

I still don’t see that this move puts the Mavs over the top. They aren’t winning the title, regardless. Cuban will regret this one.

…Did anyone hear that the NBA is going to do an OUTDOOR preseason game next year? Any truth to that? Can anyone confirm? Where will it be and which teams?

I think this will make them slightly better as Kidd is an excellent floor general, that can’t be denied.
Still Kidd usually does well with dudes that can run. That said, DIRK don’t run. Dirk likes to get the ball, shoot the turn around fade away or square up and shoot the j. I guess the lobs will be going to J-Ho because I just don’t see a Kenyon Martin, Richard Jefferson or Vince on Dallas.
I could see Kidd getting frustrated for real. This as the other trades will be interesting.

Kidd will make Dirk better, for sure. I’d be surprised if Dirk doesn’t score 4-6 points more per game just off great Kidd passes. But their fast break might suffer a little cause Devin was so fast. Then again, I’m sure Kidd has run a successful fast break or two, or three thousand in his career, no? Josh Howard, Stack, yes, even Devean, will benefit from that. All their tweener type players will. Dirk’s just got to polish that deep jumper. Seems like he doesn’t take as many threes as he used to.

the problem really here is with this new line-up, who would replace the roles played by Devin (against TP) and Diop (against Timmy) who were vital for the team who defeated San Antonio in the conference semis.

What # will Kidd have? Josh Howard wears #5 and Brandon Bass wears #32. I doubt Kidd will change his number. Can he buy it from Howard or Bass?
