As always, leave your fantasy questions in the comments box.
Andray Blatche - When Caron doesn’t play, Blatche is nasty. Last night he had 16 points and 15 boards in the Wizards loss. He clearly has the ability to be a regular fantasy contributor if Washington can find minutes for him. He’s such a tough player to own because of the inconsistency, but if the Wizards ever decide to make him a consistent part of the team, he immediately becomes a must own. So if you have any more than 3 bench spots, he should be on your roster. If you have three bench spots, he’ll probably do the roster dance of being on and off.
Eddy Curry - It wasn’t just that Eddy Curry went for 20 and 8 in 31 minutes, it was how he did it. I swear he looked good. His moves were legit. I’ll say it again, if isiah gets fired, I guarantee a new coach comes in and gives Curry the ball a 100 times per game.
Kareem Rush - A month ago he was a hot pick up after a big performances. I told people to stay away and that he’d disappear. He did. Now he’s back after going 10-13 with 24 points last night. What do you think I’m saying? Stay away.
Boris Diaw - Not a bad fantasy sign right? All Diaw did last night in the overtime win was go for 22 points, 6 boards and 5 assists.
Jameer Nelson - We’ve had plenty of Jameer Nelson posts this season. Carlos Arroyo started last night but played only 5 minutes. Jameericle came off the bench and had 11 points and 8 dimes. It looks like that only one day after declaring that Nelson wouldn’t regain his starting spot, Stan Van Gundy may start Nelson on Friday. I think Jameer should be owned, but he’s having such an inconsistent season and clearly doesn’t mesh with Stan Van Gundy’s system. Remember, he had two straight DNP-CD before his nice stat line last night. I have to believe though that if the Magic are going to make noise in the playoffs, Jameer has to play.
Al Horford - After Horford’s 15 point and 20 board performance last night against the Lakers, someone emailed me today and asked if Horford was a keeper in a 4 player keeper league. If Horford qualifies as a center, and will qualify as a center in your league next year as well, I’d watch him the rest of the way and then consider it. Right now though, his numbers don’t justify it. The big thing that counts against Horford right now, because I think he’ll improve in the points category, is blocks. He’s blocking just over 1 block per game. You’d like your keeper center to be blocking 2 shots per game. That being said, Horford is almost averaging a double/double and will probably be drafted in the first 5 rounds next year. Fringe keeper right now.
Leon Powe - My favorite 6′6 big man had 13 and 10 last night. My prediction of averaging 11 and 7 for the week is looking pretty good.
