(Almost) Daily Fantasy

Caron Butler – There is some talk that Caron, who is listed as questionable, will miss the week and won’t play again until after the All-Star Break. With only two games for most teams this week, I think you have to go with guaranteed stats. I’d wait until the last minute, but my guess is Caron sits tonight and should be out of line ups this week.

The Celtics Front Court - KG is officially out for the week and Perkins is questionable. More Leon Powe. Although Powe got into early foul trouble yesterday and Big Baby got the majority of the minutes, Powe is still the guy I’d choose if I had to pick one for the week.

Dorrell Wright - That’s four straight nice games for Wright. The fact that the Heat are going to run more with Shaq out and Marion in is good news as well. Wright was terrific in the first quarter last night, but disappeared at times. He still finished with 15 points and 7 boards. He’s still a free agent in a number of leagues. He’s worth a pick up… though we’ve been here before with Wright.

Mark Blount – Welcome to Mark Blount’s game. 12-foot jump shots and no rebounds. That was good for 22 and 5 yesterday. The center position is always thin, so you can be sure someone is grabbing Blount.

Antonio Daniels/Gilbert Arenas - Arenas is probably three weeks to a month away (he’s days away if you ask him) and Daniels is not only always questionable, but running out of time to contribute fantasy stats in DC.

Got offered Marion and Korver for Amare… would’ve been a no-brainer about a week ago but Amare has been a beast with Marion gone. I also will probably need to drop Al Horford if the deal is done. Yes or no?

  2. Not Fantasy Doctor says:

Is there anyone else you can drop instead of horford?

  3. Not Fantasy Doctor says:

depending on what your team strengths/weaknesses are, a trade marion/amare could be a good trade for you

  4. The Fantasy Doctor says:

I’d actually drop Korver before Horford. You must have someone else to cut though. Not Fantasy Doctor is right on though. Depends on what you need.

  5. krip says:

My T-Mac, Randy Foye and Travis Outlaw for Corey Maggette, TJ Ford, Andrea Bargani?

  6. Not Fantasy Doctor says:

Don’t do it Krip. Wait and see how Foye does before you deal him. If you deal him now, you will most likely sell him for too cheap

  7. Jah says:

My HEDO TURKOGLU and EMEKA OKAFOR for Marcus Camby and Corey Maggette…

    …deal or no deal?

    I think it’s good…

  8. Not Fantasy Doctor says:

If you make the deal, you will come out on top for rebounds, blocks, steals, and FT%

However, you are trading for two guys that are injury prone so the risk will be there for you (so is okafor)

  9. Jay says:

My league is a custom private league with 7 of my friends so the rosters are a little different. The only other guys I would consider dropping if the trade goes through would be Rafer Alston. Obviously Korver would be considered as well. But that basically would mean a Marion for Amare trade.

I have a fairly all-around team, my biggest weakness is the 3-pt cat. I’m 3rd already in the league, with EB and Gil sitting on my bench.

  10. Not Fantasy Doctor says:

Jay, first of all, if you are in a h2h league, you don’t need to win every single category to win your league. actually, you shouldn’t try to win every category, but rather focus on key categories you can win week in and week out.
instead of trying to get a 3 point shooter to improve that category that you still might lose regardless, why not try to get someone that will help you in a category that your team is decent in, but not dominant in?

  11. Not Fantasy Doctor says:

also, don’t forget that your team will only get stronger with brand and arenas coming back before fantasy playoffs. maybe you could just relax and wait for your studs to come back?
