Change from Within

Phoenix, LA and Dallas all made blockbuster acquisitions, so doesn’t the rest of the West need to get on the phone and make something happen before Thursday’s deadline? Not necessarily. The Rockets are content with their group - and they can enjoy the illusion of having made some deals given the newfound impact of Bonzi Wells, Aaron Brooks, Carl Landry and Luis Scola.

The only real change to Houston’s lineup has been the replacement of Chuck Hayes in the starting lineup with Scola.

From today’s Houston Chronicle

“Whenever you get a new coach, new coaching staff, new philosophy, it’s going to take a grace period for guys to find their way,” Bonzi Wells said. “Over the last 20, 25 games, guys found the way to understand their roles in the offense and on the defensive end, what we’re supposed to do and what we cannot do. We know everybody’s tendencies on the offensive end, and guys are starting to pick up what Coach Adelman wants.

“We have our two All-Stars and all-NBA players in T-Mac and Yao and some pretty good pieces around them. I feel good going into this last run with what we have against any team. I can put our team against any team and feel we have a great chance. I’m excited to see how it ends up.”

If Houston truly feels this way then today becomes a sad day.

So another 1 and done possibly for T? I mean that is if they even make the playoffs. I am going to ride with them till the wheels fall off, but why unscrew them so early.

Well Houston needs to get whatever seed will play Dallas cause to me that will be there best chance. The Rockets still gone make some noise, even if I am the only one who will hear it.

Western Conference come out and plaaaAAAAaaaaayyy!

If they make it into the playoffs, I think they could have a good series against New Orleans, Dallas, or maybe San Antonio. New Orleans isn’t deep and Dallas may not be either if this trade goes through (and will lack any inside presence to deal with Yao), and San Antonio is looking older than ever. I’m not saying it would be easy, just that it could reasonably happen.
There’s still about 50 hours until the trade deadline, but it sure is quiet in Houston.

Scola is a beast and will help Houston enourmously in the half-court playoff game.

    Bonzi is crazy.
