Kobe Out, Dirk In
Photo. Monte IsomKobe‘s right pinky has become a serious problem. It’s official that he has a torn ligament in that finger as a result of the February 5th dislocation against the Nets.
Mamba said that after giving it some “rest” during the break, he’d prefer not to have surgery until after the Olympics. On TNT’s telecast of the Miami/Chicago game, Ernie Johnson just noted that Bryant will be replaced by Dirk in tomorrow night’s three-point shootout. (Guess Rip Hamilton was right after all that there was no way he’d lose to Kobe.)
Will Kobe also sit out the All-Star Game? We’ll keep you updated as details come in…

If he sits out, Baron Davis better be in. And if Jkidd gets traded, Hedo better get in.

Kobe will start in the game, but not ply after the 1st quarter.
If he does get replaced, it’s still a toss up between Baron Davis and Deron Williams.
As for the 3pt contest, it would have been a good chance for the leaue to showcase Andrea Bargnani as a shooter or Marco Benelli

Yea going for the MVP on purpose instead of letting it just come to him. I hope he does sit out so BD can play. Rest Kobe…Rest!

I’m a big Kobe fan. I want to see him play but it aint worth it. I don’t see what’s wrong with trying to get MVP. MJ, Magic, Charles all the old timers use to do that. This isn’t the regular season. This is the allstar game the purpose is to be the star of stars. Last year Kobe, Carmelo, and Amare were gunning.

Myrie, not a bad idea, except that I don’t think that either of those two are proven enough shooters to make it.
Personally, I hope that Baron Davis makes it over Deron Williams. D-Will right after that, though, in case anyone else gets hurt!
