Reebok Pump Omni Lite (Dee Brown)

Growing up in NYC during the early ’90s was great for me and this is one of the reasons why. I’m hoping the 1991 Dunk Contest rings a bell; if it doesn’t, then go see a doctor and get your brain checked. That was the year Dee Brown pumped his kicks and took off and dunked it while covering his eyes. Dee took home top honors over Shawn Kemp, and in the process made these Reebok Pumps and instant classic. This sneaker brings back SO many memories for me — definitely a must-cop. These pumps pretty much stay true to the original pumps, only these have a no-look Dee Brown insole. The official release date is April 1st, so do yourself a favor and go get a pair.

   that dunk comp was the 1st ever nba footage i ever saw. as a kid growing up in australia coverage was pretty limited. i became a nba fan from that day forward, and i picked kemp as my favourite player and the sonics as my team. (my sister became a dee brown and celtics fan!)

   how things have now changed… kemp’s career out of seattle hit rock bottom and my sonics will soon be leaving seattle. i just don’t know if i can follow an oaklahoma city sonics team - it just does not feel right.

   still, these kicks remind me of the day i fell for the nba, and as a sneakerhead i will 100% be hunting down a pair of these from australia some how.
