The Gym is Open This Weekend

For the past few months we’ve been telling you about Converse’s Open Gym Movement – a program where players of all ages can show up at certain gyms on designated dates and just play ball all day long. We were at the first Open Gym in Miami in November (complete with Dwyane Wade), there was one in Philly last month (where Kyle Korver was running the show), a huge one in Chicago in mid-December that saw Kirk Hinrich hanging out with the kids and two-day long OG in New Orleans last weekend.

There are Open Gym events going in various cities this weekend. Here’s what you need to know:

Miami – 2/23 South Miami Community Center
5800 SW 66th St.
South Miami, FL 3143

Chicago – 2/24
Attack Center
2641 West Harrison St
Chicago, IL 60612

Philly – 2/24 Girard College
2101 South College Ave
Philadelphia, PA 19121

Here’s how the sessions break down in each location:

10 am – 12 pm: 12-14 year olds
12 pm – 2 pm: 12-14 year olds
2 pm – 4 pm: 15-17 year olds
4 pm – 6 pm: 18+

Please bring shorts, sneakers and a t-shirt.

Please leave valuables at home. There will not be a bag/coat check.

Get your registration and waivers forms at www.converse.com/opengym (these must be filled out prior to the event in order for you to participate).

If you’ve already registered and attended a prior Open Gym event, no additional forms are needed, just bring your membership card and jersey.

A parent/guardian consent is mandatory for all individuals under 18 years of age.

Entry will not be granted without proper documentation.
