The Iceman Walketh
At last year’s All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas, one of the coolest things was the amount of NBA guys you’d see just walking around, cruising the Strip or hanging in the casinos. We haven’t been in New Orleans long, but so far haven’t had as many run-ins with ballplayers.
However, as myself, Andrew and Pat were driving back to our hotel from the court dedication featuring LeBron, Kevin Durant and Brandon Roy, I saw two older men walking down Saint Peters Street downtown. One of them had a Spurs jacket on, so as we passed them I kept my eye on him to see who it was.
Turns out it was George “The Iceman” Gervin and Maurice Lucas doing some window-shopping. Kids, if you don’t know those names, do your research.

austin you’re a special. that’s pretty amazing that you were able to identify a taller older guy as an nba player (during all star weekend) especially considering that he had on a spurs jacket (because he played for the spurs nonetheless). your street vision would only be less impressive, if the iceman had his own name on the back of his jacket. but great detective work on your part.
