All-Star Sunday’s been pretty chill. Not a lot going on until the actual game, which is scheduled to tip in a few hours. Some of the Dime crew dropped by Converse’s suite at Harrah’s, where I saw Bo Kimble and Ed Pinckney. I saw Ryan Hollins and Nikki Teasley while strolling Bourbon St., as well as a “lady” who was wearing what I could only describe as a dress made up of loosely chained-together coins. With her hot pink hair and matching thong/bra (which of course everyone could see because she was basically wearing nothing), she was a mess. And she knew it.
Anyway, I did come across this story: John Salley is interested in joining the NASCAR world. Here’s an excerpt for the ESPN article:
“I want to be a team owner,” Salley said. “I want to be in this. I would help out with the money end and stand out front with a hat on.”
Salley was so impressed with his experience at the Daytona 500 that he would choose it over the NBA All-Star Game that also was scheduled Sunday.
“I am so far away from the All-Star Game it’s ridiculous,” he said. “I’ve dunked on people. I’ve done it all. This is the best s— I’ve seen in my life.”
Salley was particularly impressed with the amount of corporate sponsorship in the sport. When introduced to Ryan Pemberton, the crew chief for David Reutimann, he couldn’t help but notice all the sponsors on his shirt.
“That’s a lot of pimping here,” Salley said.

Wow, for a below average ball player he’s managed to parlay his career to talk shows, to some how getting in the playboy mansion, to having legitimate biz interest. But I have to hate on his dunking on people comment, who did john salley ever dunk on, and being at all star games??? Man, only if he was reporting, or in 2ball comps, because this dude was never playing in one. Get your nascar on salley.
