1-on-1 Tournament: Round 2 (Atlantic)

MannionAfter tallying the readers’ votes through Sunday, there were two shutout victories in the Atlantic Division first round of this 1-on-1 tournament: KG over Eddy Curry and Paul Pierce over David Lee. Meanwhile, the lone upset (according to the seeding) had Stephon Marbury taking out Richard Jefferson.
Going into Round 2, here are the rules: Straight 1-on-1, make it-take it, games to 11 (by ones and twos), all hypothetical. The six division winners will advance to the finals, with two of them getting a bye, just like the NFL playoffs. Vote in the comments section to determine the second-round winners:

(1) Kevin Garnett vs. (8) Jose Calderon – KG. Calderon is good, but he isn’t all that much of a scorer. KG is too much of a beast for JC to handle on defense.
(4) Vince Carter vs. (5) Ray Allen – Ray Allen. Just like I said last round, there is no way VC takes this competition seriously. His lax attitude costs him the match against Allen.
(3) Paul Pierce vs. (11) Stephon Marbury – Paul Pierce. Stephon doesn’t have the size, strength, or skills of PP. This one isn’t even close.
(2) Chris Bosh vs. (7) Jamal Crawford – Chris Bosh. Jamal Crawford would jack up a ton of whack shots. Bosh would get pretty much all the boards. Bosh would run of Crawford on offense.

(1) Kevin Garnett vs. (8) Jose Calderon – I like this one cause of Jose’s quickness and hes waaaay stronger than he gets credit for but Ive seen KG beast too many people to count him out. I say KG wins this one
(4) Vince Carter vs. (5) Ray Allen – Im sorry but Ray Allen in a one on one contest? Vince better bring his Umbrella-ella-ella-a cause Shuttlesworth is gonna rain shots on him. Vince isnt as quick laterally anymore either so Im sure Ray Ray can get to the rim at will too
(3) Paul Pierce vs. (11) Stephon Marbury – To me this is the closet matchup. 2 very good one on one players but Id have to give it to Starbury because theres no team bringing for him to bring down and he can get buckets but I say this is the closest contest
(2) Chris Bosh vs. (7) Jamal Crawford – Imma have to give this one to Bosh because of Crawford’s streakiness and Bosh’s length. This is similar to the KG-Calderon argument

(3) Paul Pierce vs. (11) Stephon Marbury…1-1, in the playground….Starbury still takes it.
(2) Chris Bosh vs. (7) Jamal Crawford….Jamal wins this one.

I couldn’t sit by and let this one slide…gotta put in some votes for my boys.
KG. Jose is my boy, but even I couldn’t defy all sense and logic and pick him over KG.
Allen. Ray knocks him down once, and vince starts shooting bad fade aways from 20ft.
Pierce. He doesn’t just beat Starbury, he literally kills him and sends his corpse to Italy.
Bosh. How does Crawford have any votes at all? That is as crazy as Jose actually getting votes over KG.
