The Conspiracy Theorist

NEWS: A few minutes ago on Max Kellerman’s ESPN Radio show they were breaking down tonight’s Knicks/Heat game, killing the Knicks in the process before callers were given opportunity to spin theories on why Isiah Thomas is still employed by the team.

CONSPIRACY: Knicks owner James Dolan doesn’t want the blame for the team’s disarray placed squarely on him. If he keeps Isiah around, Isiah will continue to be the face of the franchise — the one answering questions every night, the one appearing on-screen every game, the one left having to publicly explain what’s wrong. Dolan’s goal would be for Isiah to become the man solely associated with “Knicks” and “failure” rather than himself. Why isn’t his plan working in full? Because the public and media are smarter than Dolan gives them credit for. They know Isiah only stays around as long as Dolan lets him stay around. They know Isiah only offers salaries that Dolan signs off on. Isiah has become the man most closely associated with the Knicks’ downfall, but Dolan isn’t going to escape the fire as long as he runs the show.

Not the most insightful view around. Tell us something we don’t know.

  2. YallAllReadyKnow says:

knicks suck and so do their entire city; except for dime. yall cool. how many rats do you have to step over in that city to get to work in the morning? lol

  3. MoxWestCoastRep says:

    I’m with you yall
Even better is the dudes in the super tight shirts with the slick back hair. Ha ha tools

  4. YallAllReadyKnow says:

here is what NY should do for next season (hear my out):

fire isiah as coach and prez. replace him with bill bradleyas prez/gm; especially since bradly aint doing shit with his life now anyway. that would help restore instant credibility.

bring back jvg as coach or maybe even rudy t. if not, mark jackson would take the job.

    as for the players:

trade fat zach to cleveland for ben wallace. straight up.
trade q rich, jared jeff and expiring contract to utah for andrei kirelinko
trade steph marbury & expiring contract to chicago for kirk hinrich use their 2008 lottery pick in a trade as necessary if its not a top 3 pick.

this way, the starting lineup next year would look like this:

kirk hinrich, jamal crawford, andrie kirilenko, ben wallace and eddy curry

now they have a point that can pressure the ball on defense and pass on offense. plus he can drive off the dribble and hit open jump shots. jamal is still jamal. this cat can kill if he actually played on a good team or with a good system.
kirilenko and ben wallace would provide the defense since the knicks suck on d. they dont trap, rotate or block shots. both these dudes will solve that problem. andrei is atheletic and wallace would get the boards fat eddy cant jump to get.

then them bums should address their bench, like so:

nate is aight, but move him if you can. david lee could stay. sign shareef abdur rahim. yup i said it. you need a frontline vet to play that mcdyess, joe smith, kurt thomas type role. and he a good dude off the court and he’ll come cheap.

the dread can stay, but only if he gets a jump shot. their new rookie seems aight, but trade him if there are any takers. try to get udoka from san an.

    hinrich, crawford, kirilenko, wallace, curry
robinson, lee, dread, abdur rahim, udoka, kentucky big man

  5. Prof. TX says:

In the words of Homer Simpson:
“awww.. New York? New York is a hell hole”

  6. Prof. TX says:

I agree that the Knicks should go after JVG again. They need a strict coach that will play the hard workers and bench/trade the ones who won’t buy into the team-first concept.

  7. Marcus says:

yeah but what coach or GM would want to go to New York, I mean the probability of being successful is so low, and that why Isiah is still there. If the team is gonna suck anyways, may as well let the current coach stick it out, rather than having to pay 2 coaches

  8. YallAllReadyKnow says:

    marcus
that money dont matter. them ny bums are prolly still paying larry johnson and luc longley.
every team is just 1 or 2 good players from turning it around. thats all it takes. cleveland had the worst record in the league 5yrs ago and 4yrs later they were in the finals.

it aint hard to turn things around in ny. they owner is just a dumbass.

  9. Celts Fan says:

YAllReadyKnow, that has NO CHANCE IN HELL of happening, not one move you mentioned would happen in a million years. Let’s look at what you suggested (my comments in parenthesis after in all caps):

trade fat zach to cleveland for ben wallace. straight up. (CLEVELAND PROBABLY WOULDN’T DO THIS. THEY VALUE DEFENSE WAY TOO MUCH AND IT’S NOT LIKE ZACH HAS NO BAGGAGE. THIS ONE IS THE ONLY DEAL THAT EVEN HAS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF WORKING THOUGH I’D BE SHOCKED IF THEY DID IT.)

trade q rich, jared jeff and expiring contract to utah for andrei kirelinko (YOU MUST BE HIGH. UTAH WOULD HANG UP THE PHONE THE SECOND THEY HEARD, ‘KIRILENKO FOR QUENTIN - HELLO? HELLO???”)

trade steph marbury & expiring contract to chicago for kirk hinrich use their 2008 lottery pick in a trade as necessary if its not a top 3 pick. (CUZ WHO DOESN’T WANT TO TRADE A YOUNG GUY W/ POTENTIAL FOR AN OLDER GUY WITH A MASSIVE CONTRACT AND EVEN BIGGER ATTITUDE PROBLEM, NOT TO MENTION THE NUMBERS AREN’T EVEN CLOSE TO WORKING.)

  10. YallAllReadyKnow says:

    celtsfan

no chance in hell? memphis should trade pau gasol to the lakers for kwame brown. NO CHANCE IN HELL is what you might have said. right? you prick.

here is why it will all work chump; listen up and listen good:

fatty zach randolph to cleveland for ben wallace. cavs have all the defense they need. when lebron got hurt, they went 0-5 and averaged 79pts per game. and that was with drew gooden and larry hughes. lets say lebron misses a 5game stretch again (at a more crucial time in the season) can they even average 79pts with ben wallace and delonte west? they don’t have a low post scoring threat should big z go down. and he aint gonna play much longer.
for the knicks, they dont need both zach and curry. ben wallace would compliment curry the way zach cant. defense, rebounding, shot blocking. occasional above the rim play.
lebron and mike brown can handle zach and keep him in his place. for the 1st time, zach would be on a team where he is not the best player; so he would no doubt listen to lbjames.

andrei kirilenko dont wanna be in utah. jerry sloan dont like him and deron williams dont wanna pass to him. but the russian fucker is making like $22 million a year. only ny can make a deal for him. with q, utah still gets a 3pt shooter with some toughness. and with jared jeff utah gets a 6′11 defender who can at least help them defend the paint and handle the rock a bit.
ny gets the athletic perimeter defender they need plus an offensive player who doesnt always need the rock to be effective.

stephon marbury will be in the last yrs of his contract. chicago would get cap relief by trading for him. they aint happy with kirk hinrich no more. they can draft a young point guard and have him develop until marbury plays out his contract; only 2 seasons.
ny needs a new point. steph is nice, but hes a loser and its been 5yrs in ny. time to move on. hinrich is a decent point young enough to lead ny and solid enough to excel in the garden.
marbury’s attitude in chitown wont be any worse than what they have now.

  11. doc says:

Its plenty of coaches and GMs who would work there marcus they pay millions.

  12. GEE...my style is a style that's not a style says:

The Knicks by all mean should keep Crawford. They still should package about 3 to 4 of those players to get a specific go to player. Someone they can build the team around and then you have Crawford as a second option.

They are certain to get a good draft pick, so you are looking at 3 good players off the top.

The rest you would have to work out in free agency and more trades.

Of course by all means a new coach and GM. For all I care it can be a bum off the street and they would do a better job than Zeke.

  13. hahns says:

gota agree w/ celtsfan, those trades are bogus.

cavs got to the finals last year bc of defense. that is their team identity. why would they change the philosophy that brought them that far? they made the trade for delonte joesmith and wally specifically to get more scorers around bron. the stat about the cavs only scoring 79 points w/o lebron is pointless bc cavs arent getting anywhere w/o him anyway. so to trade for a guy for offense, just in case bron doenst play, doesnt make sense.

utah has the perfect system right now, absolutely no need to break that up at all. dwill droppin duoble digit dimes for 8 games and since the new year the teams only dropped 7 games…outside shooting problem was solved by kyle korver. and if you still think Q is a shooter…you just havent been watching knicks games. and if you think jj is a defender…then you are just out of your mind bc if you watch him play in msg…you know he cant defend for crap. handling the ball? no. and do you realy want a guy who cant break 50% ft?? utah is in a position to win the whole thing, and youre not going to play someone in crunchtime minutes who is most likely going to brick one of two free throws.

marbury trade is the most “practical” but no way pax should give up on hinrich so easily. hes shown too much potential thus far to bail on him now. hes had ONE bad season…but so has the entire team.

the only way to fix the knicks is to trade zbo for cap relief. i like dalembert for the knicks too. an athletic rebounding shot blocker who can guard the paint while curry plays offense. zbo for dalembert? is that even possible?

    zbo iggy dremiller…not bad?

  14. YallAllReadyKnow says:

    hahns
you are a dweeb. ur trade scenario makes no sense. i aint even a knicks fan, but how is a frontline of eddy curry sam dalembert better than a eddy curry zach randolph front line? two centers in the starting lineup? ur just stupid.

cleveland got to the finals because they had an easy path. no way they beat the wiz if arenas and caron were both healthy. no way. especially after they bit the wiz the yr before. the wiz especially gilbert would have been extra motivated. lebron is the shit, but the whole team sucks and would have been bumped in the 1st round last yr. so dont believe that title run was the true thing. just a fluke like mike bibbys 2002 playoff run.

utah does have the perfect system, but they paying that russian too much and they gotta resign dwilliams long term. they got $40million in okur, $60million in the booz and $64million in the russian. out of that trio, i ask, who would you move and be able to get something back?

if hinrich has had ONE bad season, then i guess its ok for me to say the same about q rich huh? richardson can ball and is nice, but he’s being misused in ny.
who cares if jared jefferies shoots 50% ft? he aint gonna have the ball in his hands at the end of the game. and if you hack-a-shaq him and he its 1 out of 2 twice, well, that is the same as allowing a TEAM to shoot 50% from the field.

marbury in chicago is strictly for cap relief. maybe they shouldnt give up on hinrich, but how much better is he really going to be for them? allstar caliber? hall of fame better? retired jersey better? double double season avg better?
    he’s peaked with them already.

  15. MoxWestCoastRep says:

the jazz might do that conisdering they have had some bad history with AK47, not saying they should- but its like the Marion deal. If a guys not happy you will move him even if its for 50 cents on the dollar… Plus if the Jazz get a big expiring contract from NYK they could go after a big time free agent. Hope that doesnt happen as a Laker fan…

  16. hahns says:

first of all, its not like letting a team shoot 50% from the field bc youll only get one point out of it. and if youre down in the playoffs and need a crunch time performer, he is not your man. q rich has been noticeably on the decline for the past few season. he was a volume shooter in phx, where he got most of his value from, in nyk hes been used primarly as a defender. i dont doubt that dwill can dime him a couple times a game, but his game is not the same.

regarding the cavs, the path to the finals went through detroit…that is by no means an easy.

and a combo of curry and dalembert can be sick. defense+offense. who cares if they’re both listed at C?? semantics. do you remember the twin towers? drobinson and timmyd? yeah thought so.

chitown scenario, like i credited w/ you before, is most sensible imo. but even still, hinrich is a facilitator while marbury wont help the team win games. you judging kirk on if he can become a hall of famer isnt right. sam cassell is not going to be a hall of famer, but he is a better floor general than marbury. which is why you keep kirk over marbury if youre building long term. why bank on an unknown quantity when you see what kirk is able to provide. do the bulls roll the dice seeing if they can find someone better later? if im pax, i dont.

and lets not resort to name calling..

  17. Celts Fan says:

YAll, the difference is that Memphis was straight dumping salary to rebuild and sell the team, Chicago is still trying to compete with what they have and any “blowing up the team” would be done with the goal of changing the makeup of a contender, not to start all over.

call all the names you want, but none of your trades make sense for both teams, and QRich has sucked since he left Phoenix 3 years ago and has noticably put on like 3o pounds. That’s not “one bad year” that’s 3 and a bad diet.

Let’s let everyone else decide. Please go reread post #4 and say if you think it’s dumb or I’m dumb for thinking it’s dumb.

  18. YallAllReadyKnow says:

    hahns
re-read my post. if you hack-a-shaq a player and he goes 1 of 2 TWICE, that is the same as allowing a team to shoot 50% from the field. TWICE being the key. so ur wrong on that again.
if utah is down and needs a crunch performer, its not like andrei is their guy either. certainly not after shedding tears last yr.
Q Rich value came from LAClips. he was only in phoenix for like 1 season. he’s prolly been eaten some ny street hotdogs, but dude is still a good 3rd option on any team.

as for the cavs, like i said, they were fortune to play a banged up wiz team last yr. nothing anyone can do about it, but you gotta present the true facts; they would NOT have beaten the wizards team with caron butler and gilbert arenas healthy.

curry/dalembert ain’t no duncan/robinson. in case that didnt register with you, i’ll let you read it again for that BOGUS comparision: curry/dalembert aint no duncan/robinson

marbury has a career average of 19pts, 9assts.
    what is hinrichs career avg?

  19. Billy Sunday says:

Post #4 is imbecilic and yallallreadyknow does not have a consciousness

  20. YallAllReadyKnow says:

    celts
no celts ur not dumb. but nor am i.
as for memphis, you still would have guess NO WAY IN HELL if you were told of that trade rumor in december; ur not dumb, just wrong again.

Chicago will have to start all over by shedding salary. hinrich has a $50 million contract, gordan and deng looking for more money than that. drew has a long heavy contract and so does larry hughes. not to mention tyrus, aaron gray and noah will all need extensions within the next 3 seasons. so, where is the money going to come from and who will be moved?
pg are always in demand, so hinirch is their best assest of the bunch other than deng. and no one gonna want him knowing he can opt out.

so no, my idea isn’t dumb, but just stop being one sided and think the whole equation thru fool.

q rich has been eatin too many nyc street hotdogs, but he is still serviceable and wont cry for the jazz in the playoffs. he would give them some toughness which they lack.

would you prefer he go the the heat for a miami south beach diet? lol

  21. YallAllReadyKnow says:

i want to respond to billy sunday,
    but what does ‘imbecilic’ mean?

  22. doc says:

Sammy Curry can not compare to duncan Robinson.

  23. Celts Fan says:

fair enough YAll, but again, those are completely different situations, and I disagree that Chicago has to start all over. If they make the right moves and resign the right guys (keep Deng, let Gordon walk unless he’s willing to take less than the $50M they offered preseason) they’re still in decent shape.

Q-Rich wouldn’t be a third option for any team unless it’s a team for a pie eating contest. He’d be a good 3rd option OFF THE BENCH.

  24. YallAllReadyKnow says:

i bet if q rich’s bum ass went to the celtics you’d be a fan of him. u homer.
same as having james posey. u lil homer u.

  25. hahns says:

    yall,

i was using twin towers as an example of 2 bigs in the starting line up. obviously i wasnt saying curry/dalem would replicate their success. qrich cant score on the starved knicks…how can he be a third option. yuore saying itd take 2 posesions to equal 1. (1ft + 1ft = 1fg). thats not going to cut it in the playoffs in crunchtime.

and again…career stats are moot points. hinrich is a better floor general for the bulls. they have pieces like tythom, bg, deng, who can produce. plus, after the crap season they have…i dont think any of them can demand big money. deng is still the best trade asset btw. and yes, cavs maybe wouldnt whave beat wiz if big 3 were in, but that still doesnt address the fact that they beat Dtroit

you created some discussion…dont take it so personally that ppl are disagreeing.

  26. Myrie says:

    gotta post on the Knicks.

there are thousands of knick fans in miami. a few years ago, there was almost a certainty to get a fight in a knicks/heat game. great games and great playoff series for four consecutive years.

    Celtsfan–
Do not waste your time repsonding to yallallreadyknow. He appears to be a clown parading as an intelligent basketball mind. Trust me, save your energy.

The only quality thing he mentioned was adding Bill Bradley to the New York Knicks front office. Not bad.

    Dime–
what are your thoughts on Bill Bradley joining the Knicks in a front office capacity?

  27. Austin Burton says:

What is Bill Bradley up to these days? If he’s in government, I’d like to think he’s got higher priorities using his intelligence in that arena.

  28. Myrie says:

He was involved in politicsa few years back and even had Phil Jackson co-signing for him as a presidential candidate.

I am not sure what office title he holds now here in NY; if any.

But his intelligence and reputation are needed at Penn Plaza!

  29. GEE...my style is a style that's not a style says:

Ayo Hans the original twin towers were Ralph Sampson and Hakeem though if I am correct.

Probably would have had a ring too if it wasn’t for them dang Celtics lol.

    Still Houston up!

    Nobody really wants Steph.

  30. Celts Fan says:

You’d like to think so Austin, then you see the baseball steroids hearings and Spygate investigation and think, “Wait a minute, aren’t we in TWO wars and a recession? You have nothing better to do than this and want how much out of my paycheck?!?”

  31. Celts Fan says:

If Q went to the Celtics, I would be a fan cuz HE’D BE BURIED AT THE END OF THE BENCH WITH SCAL, so he’d be the lovable fat guy that never plays.
