This should have never lasted this long. Wade should have been shut down well before the all star break but nooo Riles wouldnt let his pride allow it nor Dwade. Hopefully he gets back to 100 percent but if not he's already accomplished a lot

I had that shock therapy it doesn't hurt that much. Only if you have a real tear in your meniscus then it hurts at least that's what the therapist said. Kinda f'd up though that at 26 he's already having so much injury problems

In March 2003, Hill underwent a major surgical procedure in which doctors re-fractured his ankle and realigned it with his leg bone. Five days after the surgery was performed, the unexpected happened: Hill developed a 40.5 °C (104.5-degree) fever and convulsions. He was immediately rushed to a hospital. Doctors removed the splint around his ankle and discovered that Hill had developed a staph infection, from which he nearly died. He was hospitalized for a week and had to take intravenous antibiotics for six months.

nasty case of sprained ankle, huh?

dwyane wade ain't nothing like penny or grant hill. penny missed fulls seasons and so did grant hill. wade hasn't. unlike them, wade played hurt injured and less than 100 pct.
them two other bums just quit and gave up on their careers. and grant hill is the worst case. he aint suit up for orlando but 5 times in six years, now all of a sudden he's healthy and playing mad minutes in phoenix. how do you figure that? and to boot, hill had a SPRAINED ankle for 5yrs!! are you kidding me? his ankle was never diagnosed as cracked or broken; look it up.
penny blew out his knee, so that pasrt i understand. but still they both raped their teams for mad money and never tried to play.
wade hasn't missed a full season and at least up until this point he tried to play.
penny is weak and grant is a sneaky puss.
how come grant hill couldn't play like this last yr for orlando?

Good point Doc. The question is whether Wade is really injured or is he just throwing in the towel on an awful season like Pat Riley seems to be doing?

I think the Penny/ Grant Hill reference is a close one even though those guys never won titles or were finals MVPs. You can still compare two players on skill and potential without having to compare awards and titles. Wade had a great year in the 2006 finals but so did Dennis Johnson in 79' and Cedric Maxwell in 81'. Those guys both won titles and MVPs in those years. Nobody would equate their careers on the level of Jordan, Duncan, Magic, Bird, etc.

Penny could've/should've been a a much better player than he ended up being. Hill is considered by some a great player or Hall of Famer (as Dime has debated) although his career hasn't been what it could've been. I think what Striz88 and I are implying is that Wade could be one of these type players that is an elite player at one point in his career but ends up falling short of what could be a long and prosperous career with a resume of many regular season and post season awards.
