DeShawn Isn’t Backing Down
The spat with LBJ continues (photo. Mannion)After scoring 14 in the Wizards 87-86 win over Orlando last night, DeShawn Stevenson fired back at LeBron for his Jay-Z/Soulja Boy comparison.
From Brian Windhorst’s Cavs Blog…
“I hope we play Cleveland. I’m going to get Soulja Boy courtside seats and have him wear a DeShawn Stevenson jersey. Maybe (James) can have Jay-Z there since LeBron’s all on his (shorts) anyway. And tell LeBron to cut that beard off and stop copying me.”
Apparently this all goes deeper. LeBron said something to Drew Gooden, one of Stevenson’s boys, about Stevenson once and Gooden passed it along (I don’t think this makes Drew a favorite in the LeBron world, either).
“We’re all in the same profession,” Stevenson said. “We don’t need to talk bad about one another. So, that’s how it happened. I was ticked off and that’s why I said something to him at tip-off. So, it goes back further than people think.”

Funny that the only press that this kid gets is starting some “beef” with LeBron…this kid apparently doesnt realize that LeBron is one of the best players in the world, and he is a “Who is that guy getting gatoraid for Gilbert? Since when did they start giving uniforms to ball boys?”.

LeBron is one of my favorite players, but the Wiz are one of my favorite teams. Just putting that out there first.
LeBron, in my opinion, is one of the top 5 players in the League, an absolute offensive juggernaut. DeShawn Stevenson is maybe top five on his team. Just putting that out there second.
Obviously, LeBron is better. But that doesn’t mean that LeBron’s going to try any harder to put buckets on DeShawn. Isn’t he ALWAYS trying to score a lot?! What motivation is DESHAWN STEVENSON going to provide him?!
Beyond that, I LOVE this. Players going at it provides more drama to the Association at a time when all I hear about is how NCAA bball has all the drama, and that’s what makes it great.
They both need to shave, though. Throw Gooden and Brian Skinner in there, too.

This is ridiculous. DeShawn was merely stating a fact…that everyone bows down to LeBron. He isn’t saying he is better than GheyBron. LeBron, next to Kobe, is the best player in the game. But he also gets every call, or the benefit of every non call. Truth is that he talks just as much smack as everyone else, and is FAR from humble. Way to stand up DeShawn. Yes, LeBron’s one of the leagues best and DeShawn maybe third tier, but he didnt like something LeBron did and he let LeBron know. End of Story.
