Dirk’s Diagnosis

IMAGE DESCRIPTIONDirk (photo. Monte Isom)

The Mavs just announced that Dirk Nowitzki‘s previously-described “lower leg injury” is actually a moderate high ankle sprain and a mild knee sprain. No official timetable has been put in place for when Dirk can return and help the Mavs hang onto their playoff spot, but the reigning MVP is expected to miss at least two weeks. Dirk has been seen walking in a boot without crutches.

If Dallas is going to stay in the race, the time is now for Josh Howard to step into the go-to role (which he’s done before) and Jason Kidd to show why they brought him in. The Mavs also need more consistent production from guys like Jason Terry, Jerry Stackhouse and Brandon Bass.

I guess that just looked WAAAY worse than it was…I instantly flashed back to Shaun Livingston on that joint…

  2. 2 Easy says:

Ive said since they did this trade, this team will go as far as Brandon Bass will take them. I love his game and he now gets to show how vital he is. Kidd has got to start lookin to score a little more, I swear he hasnt brokin into double digits in like 3-4 games. They all gotta get in the gym and practise cause this is gonna be tough wit G State in their rearview

  3. fallinup says:

Damn the luck. I bet they are regretting the fact that they traded Keith Van Horn now! :p

  4. Furai says:

Brandon Bass? he’s decent but I wouldn’t go that far as to saying that this team would go as far as he took them.

  5. Sam I Am says:

Gosh how sweet it is…I despise the Mavs and am happy Dirk is not crippled….but YAY go Suns in the west and Celts in the East and go T-Wolves (I miss KG) :(

Dirk the Jerk – Irk No D Dirk – No ‘D’ witzki – Choke Artist

  6. yallallreadyknow says:

even with dirk them bums had no chance. i bet you they dont score 89pts in a game until he comes back. they aint got no weapons on offense

  7. word says:

it’s just crazy for the west now, gasol, bynum, dirk, arenas in the east, when they all come back, they are the big deciding factors. I don’t care though I still want Suns/Celt finals.

  8. ash says:

one year KG takes the team to a west conf finals with sam i am and sprewell, the next year with the same exact team they MISS the playoffs!!

how can one of the greatest power forwards who is light years ahead of dirk get past the 1st round ONCE in 13 years?

  9. fallinup says:

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but Minny old had Sam and Sprewell…Sprewell, for sure..Sam, I can’t remember…

But to answer your question, Ash….it’s Minnesota.

  10. fallinup says:

    *correction cause I can’t type…

“Minny ONLY had Sam and Spree for 1 year.”

  11. 2 Easy says:

I said they go as far as Brandon Bass takes them because hes a glue player. U kno wat Jkidd brings and Dirk, Jho and the rest. But the wild card is Bass and the better he plays the easier it’ll be for all of them

  12. mambo mamba says:

lets hope the yao-less rockets effect will come into play here haha

  13. qq says:

“Minny ONLY had Sam and Spree for 1 year.”
    For 2 years.

  14. doc says:

Its a wrap for Dallas because Dirk was is and will always be this teams MVP. All their plays came off him.
