this kid’s getting better and more confident every game. hope you like nuts Jason…

Celts Fan says:
*and if we don’t get this matchup in the ECF, I’ll be VERY disappointed.

G says:
not really that spectacular, thats what happens when you jump late
March 6th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
TJ says:
He didn’t really dunk “on” him. You can see in the second view that Maxiell just jumped way late.

Myrie says:
Maxiell got cramped on by Rondo…
…but in the aftermath, I think its Maxiell who got the last laugh.

what makes the play more impressive is rondo smokes rip hamilton… blows right by him… nba.com has a better angle

yea pistons got owned. oh well it’s not the playoffs yet so it wasn’t too big of an L.

control says:
This is a nice dunk, but it’s not like he’s really dunking on him (he’s weakside and really late). There should be absolutely NO reference to Mad Max eating any nuts, Rondo wasn’t even close to being high enough to serve any nuts.
Also, Rondo getting knocked to his back like a kid and rolling on the ground takes away from the play. I’ve never seen any of the elite dunkers pull off a good dunk, then celebrate by rolling around on the floor.
March 6th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
Celts Fan says:
he was rolling around cuz he got drilled in the friggin head. it was a clean (in terms of intentions) play, but Rondo got drilled. the “hope he likes nuts” line was probably over the top, but oh well…

Celts Fan says:
*and no one ever called Rondo an elite dunker

Vertman says:
Sweet drive past Rip for a cool dunk. He got hammered, which is good IMHO, gotta let the little guy know whose boss down low. LOL, a few games back he made D. Howard look silly down low.
Ok, so who nailed Rondo the hardest? Sam Cassell, now his teammate or Mad Max? LMAO.
March 6th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
daQuEsT?oN says:
throw it down little man lmfao, sam cassell couldnt do that if hed gone down that hard it would have been over 4 him hes like 50 years old and after that they would have had to take his body to area 51 to examine so that they could finally end the debate whether hes an alien or a human
March 6th, 2008 at 6:09 pm
babyluvs says:
Yeah he dunked on him! The kid is pushing six feet tall and he was holding that ball like he was Dr. J. Impressive. And he was hammered (should have been called). Rondo is THE MAN in Boston.

Marcus says:
man back in the day it would have been the job of a guy like glen davis to jack up maxiel for the hard foul, rather than check on rondo, basketball needs enforcers again, just for the occasional fight, and hilarity of coaches trying to stop the fight
March 7th, 2008 at 8:15 am
Celts Fan says:
ya, but they stopped that. they showed a replay during the pregame of a HUGE brawl between the teams in the late 80s. someone drilled mchale down low, all of the sudden, 8 guys are just throwing punches. afterwards, there were a few T’s, but no ejections. like an old-timer said on ESPN the other day (forget exactly who,) “In my day, we woulda just leveled him, but back then, it was only a $50 fine to punch a guy!”

doc says:
Back then players wasnt pussies and you had to back your shit up. I miss that.Could any of these dudes be Mike when he had the Pistons fucking him up.
