Jordan Phly

IMAGE DESCRIPTION

As we all know, Michael Jordan was cut from the high school varsity team when he was a sophomore at Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was an event that unleashed a beast of competitive fire that helped turn MJ into the greatest of all-time.

But young Mike Jordan didn’t turn into MJ all by himself. Jordan’s road to greatness started with Pop Herring, the Laney coach who cut him from the team. Pop saw potential in the young Jordan, and after he cut him from the squad insisted on picking up MJ up every morning before school to work with him on his game. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Jordan Brand has decided to honor Pop Herring with a special sneaker, the Jordan PHLY. These pairs showed up at the office yesterday…

The Jordan PHLY will be available for $85 in various colorways as part of the following releases:

4/1
Varsity Red/White

5/1
White/Varsity Red/Blue

6/1
White/Miner’s Gold

6/1
Black/White
