Mail Call
Believe me, I’m no Karl Malone fan, but I don’t get how some people act like Malone only put up numbers because he had John Stockton feeding him the ball. This is the best evidence I could find that Mailman — while undoubtedly helped by Stockton — would have got buckets no matter who was being credited with the assists. After the first 30 seconds or so, this is from when Malone dropped 61 on the Bucks back in a January 1990 game. And that’s #43 Jack Sikma (a pretty old Jack Sikma) eating a lot of what Mailman is dishing.

I’ve know you to be a hater since the hoopstv days, but respect for linking this vid. (as a big malone fan i’ve seen it before) If Malone had played for the Knicks he would have been that much better known and respected. Look at his career numbers, pretty fantastic.

Word out of seattle today is that the CEO of Microsoft is going to swoop in and drop millions ($300 million) to build a new arena in seattle and save the team.
Good news for seattle and nice comeback to Oklahoma City’s annoumcement yesterday.

Whom ever said Karl Malone is nothing without John Stockton needs to just go to rehab.
Karl Malone was sick! No player ever stayed in shape decade after decade the way Malone did. Too bad he was 0 for 3 in the finals, but Mailman was legit.

Boyez says:
Uh Myrie there was a guy named Kareem that stayed in top shape decade after decade……..The reason he was o for 3 is because he was dirk – a choker in the clutch……If you don’t believe me look at the old videos of the jazz….stockton was the one that made all the clutch shots

Mike says:
^ Or he was 0 for 3 because of a guy named MJ. And he was well past his prime during his run with the Lakers.

They should make young post players watch this video. Most of those baskets came from sealing his man and showing nice footwork. That is some old school, fundamental shit. Plus see how he went out of his way to get himself out of the game to get his teammate in. Totally unselfish.

karl malone threw elbows!
he aint a top 5 alltime scorer by accident. stock delivered passes to everybody, how come mark eaton aint one of the alltime greats in anything except blocks?
myrie, david robinson and kevin willis had better bodies than malone. just so you know fool. pay attention.
boyez, kareem could even jump decade 32, so what you talking about? his sky hook was killer, but he wasnt in shape. you as dumb as myrie if you think that he was.
i dont feel sorry for malone and no chips. shit, the bastard had 3 chances. and homecourt twice and still couldn’t get it done. some greats never played in the finals, but malone had 3 chances; 3!
and for austin…1990 it wasnt hard to drop points on the bucks
March 6th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Amar says:
if david rob and willis had better bodies, how come they didn’t play 82+playoffs every season like malone did? (he, previous to his last run with the lakers, missed more games to suspension than injury)

you got comments for me? well let me school you fool. david robinson has more muscle definition in his body than malone did and he had the body for longer. and kevin willis aint playu in as many games cause the omin atlanta hawks sucked.
but they could both bench more than malone. kevin willis won the nba’s strongest man contest twice. look it up bitchboy. know ur history b4 you try to call me out. sucker punk.
no go disappear before someone calls immigration on ur ass. amar.

Uhh being in shape doesn’t mean you have jump high u idiot…….Steve Nash couldn’t jump over a brick to save his life but that doesnt mean he’s not in shape……Shows how much u know about basketball……..

word says:
malone was like the dirtiest player in the league. He fucked a lot of people’s faces up with his bows. even knock Nash’s tooth out! lol Fuck up Isaiah, and so on.

what you talking about? your not even making sense you lame. u think kareem abdul jabbar was in better shape than karl malone david robinson and kevin willis? those guys kept their body frame for decades. kareem couldn’t even play 30 minutes a game in the late 80s.
steve nash is not in shape; didn’t you see that bum laying down when he’s not in the game. he cant even sit straight up.
and you have the nerve to question my bball knowledge. i laugh. may i suggest you start following the wnba; nba pro basketball is not for you.

Austin Burton says:
FYI, Robinson wasn’t in that NBA Strongman contest. And I don’t think Malone was either. The one I remember watching, Willis beat Oakley in the finals, but you had to consider that Willis had those short arms so he had less area to cover.

YallAllReadyKnow, you’re the biggest shit-talker on here. Anytime you disagree with someone, you start name-calling. This ain’t grade school! Grow up.
You got this attitude like you’re the god of basketball knowledge, but we all read your posts, and it becomes clear who knows about ball and who doesn’t.
I ain’t saying you don’t know ball, cuz you do make some very good points, but don’t get in here and act all hard-body like you want to bust someone up if they don’t agree with you or you don’t agree with them.
Around here we call that a fake-ass internet gangsta.
March 6th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Amar says:
seriously dude, can you post a rebuttal without swearing? you trying to be ‘all hard’ on the internet? what are you, 18 years old? karl malone HAS 19 inch biceps. you know who else has good muscle definition? marathon runners and chicks who are on low-fat diets and do yoga. karl malone had power. you know, power forward? you know, like knocking david robinson out when going for a rebound.
that kind of power.
call immigration on me, i have dual citizenship with the USA and Canada. fuck you, you faggot.

Utes Fan says:
Whole lot of tension here on the Malone comment board. Karl was great. He did play physical, his opponents felt it the next day after playing him. But you can’t argue with his career. The ONLY thing he didn’t do was win a ring. But on that note, neither did Chuck, Ewing, Reggie, Stockton, Nash, Dirk, or Webber. Gary Payton won one riding Shaq’s coattails so really it isn’t like he led his squad.
