Pat Riley is Burning

No Chris Bosh? No problem. At least for Raptors fans, that is. Rasho Nesterovic led Toronto with 16 points and 10 boards in his stead during their 109-83 romp over Miami last night.

On the flip side, Pat Riley was absolutely steaming as his team hit another new low. Didn’t think that was possible for a team that’s now 11-47, on a 3-29 skid? Well, you’d be wrong. Toronto outscored Miami 16-0 during the first quarter, the longest run on the Heat all season. If that wasn’t enough, they endured another 15-0 run during the third.

Riley has seven NBA titles to his name as a coach or player. Now the man has to watch as his team is skewered by Rasho Nesterovic? It’s just the latest episode in a season that has Riley’s head about to explode.

From today’s Miami Herald

“I should write a check tomorrow to each season-ticket holder and send them back [their money] at least for tonight,” Riley said. “I should write the check back because I can’t get them to play hard. They have a tendency to give in and not hold their ground, we’ve seen that a lot this year but you can’t do that at home. I have to ferret out the guys who really don’t care, I have to ferret them out of here and put them on the bench and bring in a bunch of young guys.”

”It’s so unprofessional it’s ridiculous, but I’m the one that’s responsible for it,” Riley said. “I can’t allow it to continue. I’ve got to get guys out there who might not be as good as the guys talent-wise but at least they’re going to make an effort.”

Pat Riley should just quit coaching and let someone else coach, its obvious his players arent listening to him, i think is has to do with his Sgt. Slaughter attitude towards his players. He should just quit and go into the hair gel business.

Do you think Stan Van Gundy is laughing at Riles now?

What about dirk? Dwyane wade talked a lot of shit baout dirk last season. Saying he choked and wasn’t a leader in the ’06 finals.

Is Dirk laughing now? Dirk has never been on a team as bad as the Heat are now. Does Dirk have the right to challenge Wade’s heart and leadership now?

    You gotta wonder….

…whatever happened to that “15 Strong”, cards in a bucket slogan for Miami?

Myrie, I hope you’re right about SVG, but at the same time, I’m sure Riles would just say, “count the rings, son”.

And as much as I dislike Wade/like Dirk, I have to feel the same way about those two. Did you see that someone actually posted yesterday that Wade should get MVP? I didn’t even reply, I think that he was joking.

  5. GEE... Oh LORD I done found my swaaag says:

Pat needs to bow out gracefully. To me Wade and LeBron have the same style, but Wade is not 6’8. If Wade was 6’8 he is LeBron easy.

I don’t think Dirk is laughing at anything cause Wade has a set and a trophy!

Now SVG he probably cracking the hell up!

    i agree with #2

  8. dagwaller says:

Yea, 7 and 2, coaches should just be really nice to players and hope that they get along and play with heart on their own. Why didn’t the NBA think of this before?
