There Will Be Blood: High School’s Top 3-Point Shooter
Head over to High School Hoop right now for a look at the freshly anointed Michigan Mr. Basketball, Brad Redford. Though only 6-0, the Xavier-commit averaged 37 points a game during his senior season, totaling 929 points. During that campaign, he netted 102 consecutive free throws.
But that’s nowhere near the most impressive aspect of his game. He pulls without a conscience from everywhere on the floor. We mean everywhere. When he struggles to get past his man on the bounce, it’s almost as if he just gives him the finger by pulling up from 30 feet. Goodness, this kid can shoot. When Better Basketball gets a hold of this video, they’re going to throw J.J. Redick to the wolves.
No wonder he was a unanimous selection for the Mr. Basketball award. His season high was a 53-point lambasting of Garber High, in which he sunk 12 triples. Here’s what Garber’s head coach Perry Middleton said afterwards:
“He’s phenomenal,” said Middleton. “You always have a sure 30 or 40 points with Redford. When his supporting cast is hitting, it spells disaster.”

Dude can clearly get buckets, but his shot is nowhere near as fundamentally perfect as JJ Redick’s. Better Basketball is never going to knock on this kid’s door. Give me a break Dime, just cuz the dude can shoot don’t mean his shot is pretty.
